This game is REALLY fun to play but the one i bought had a bug that makes it unplayable. If i was to leave the first town of Fargrove and save game, the next time i try to play saved game, it'd lock and give me error message. The disc was brand new so i dunno what's up..

This is a great game. Not so great according to reviewers and all their points are true, though even with all the flaws, I enjoyed this game very much. It has a lot of bugs, and compared to a lot of other RPGs it looks bad, but still when I think about it, I see I had more fun playing it that modern RPGs like Dragon Age or Oblivion.
A stupid question that you may have answered before: Why did you record the waktrough witc a cam, and not some computer program?
The game is... honestly no fun, but there are some interesting aspects. It has a difficulty curve like a brick wall with an overhang and the magic system is mostly useless, if fun to toy with sometimes. The introduction is a massive turn off; they force you to slog through a truly enormous dungeon with no end in sight, dying over and over against hordes who can hit you from all angles while you can only strike directly ahead at chest height most of the time.
It's not that it's... horrible, though. There are worse, definitely. But after you finally get to town, it turns you loose and expects you to just /know/ not to wander into that particular meadow because that's where the rapacious troll men who want your blood live. The ones with massive armor and attacks that remove a limb with each strike. It's definitely absolutely not a game for people who aren't intimately familiar with RPGs.

Some races seem to naturally have more of one stat than others; for example, the wolf man class-- I can't remember the official name at the moment-- has a ton of agility to start with. It depends on what you want to do with that character. Some are better for mages to start out with than others, and so on.

@Ranthaar Yea i'ts pretty much free-roam, but only if you use the mountains to get around. Otherwise it keeps you to a sort of storyline where you can't get into certain places and such. But it's a pretty big map, so there's alot to explore.
You know, you can get some screen-capture software online.. That way you wouldn't have to use a camera. There is nothing wrong with this other than the occasional glare, but it would probably be easier to set up :) btw this is a really great, detailed run of the game (I like this game too!)
I've got this game and looking to check it out, however you said at the start you don't cheat and all you've shown so far in this video was cheats for the most part....
Not for spam purposes, but more if you're gonna be cheating for a walkthrough you might as well admit it...
@azianX There is absolutely no cheating. I will not admit what I don't do. I simply found different short cuts I can take which make the game easier for me. I use no codes, cheats whatever. The game clearly allows for the things I do in my walkthrough. Sorry that you thought I was cheating.
What are cheats? Must it be a code you use to gain an unfair advantage? Or can it be an unfair advantage you found that simply exploits the rules of the game? Such as shooting through doors, running over mountains you aren't supposed to get up, etc? There's nothing wrong with using glitches to your advantage, but you can't do so and then go around saying you don't believe in cheats. =)
@OzymandiastheDreaded Cheats are using codes like unlimited spells, vitality, etc.... I don't believe using doors and finding ways over moutains are cheats at all. I think if you weren't supposed to be able to climb the mountains there would be no way to do so, and there would be no trees, foliage and a demon wall up there. I will continue to say I don't believe in cheats, because I don't. Nothing to better my character outside the game, that's what I believe cheating is :)

I have, there was a lag when my friend and I were playing though for the person who was not hosting, which was pretty frusterating. If your pc doesn't have the lag it's alot of fun!
Looks awesome, D.W. Bradleys last game Wizards & warriors from like 2000 I think was one of my favorite games of all time. Similar situation it was released too early with bugs but it worked well enough and was fantastic.
I got this game the day it came out and for whatever reason haven't played it yet. Glad since now the CE is out.
interesting game, i've only heard of it by my hardcore rpg gamer friend... so i was tipped about it, but don't know if it might work on my pc (pentium4 2.80Ghz, 1Go of Ram, and a chipset of intel up to 64 or 128 i think...sadly...)

if your going to make a tutorial you might want to consider something like Hypercam. you can get it for free (though it leaves a watermark in the top left) or just get something that doesnt leave one. looks better than a camera..

In the begining I mainly advance my intellect, dexterity, agility, armor and weapons. Then I can move on to magic once I'm into the Bolen Feilds and also get to medium weapons and armor there (the good armor in that chest by the feilds is real nice)

Sure! What you have to do is kill a moonbeast on the island in the northen lake (above Arindale) and once you have one, you 'shift' on the moonbridge and symbols appear on the left and right of a little box. You have to copy the order of the symbols on the right, by clicking on them on the left-hand side. It's pretty self-explainatory once you have the moonstone from the moonbeast.
Yea, I get tired of flying up into the trees and dying. How do you get to the texture files??! That sounds like fun lol. But you can get it back to normal, right? You just save them seperately?
dodge like roll sideways or something? I just move around sideways while I'm fighting so they don't hit me as much...the 'greater than' and 'less than' symbols on the keyboard are I believe the default buttons for rolling and shuffeling sideways. You enter the city through the sewers....it's in my walkthrough. You have to talk to the guard at the gate and then a goblin will tell you to follow him and will lead you to a gate to the sewers
I personally like melee because it's a little more challenging, but magic is always nice for hard fights. I like all the characters, I just used a human for my walkthrough.
It's a nether spell so you can mix kataals, and if they're available at a merchant they would be labled 'summon giant' (troll) and 'summon beast' (borloth).
You have to kill him using stricktly summoned creatures. I would suggest borloths and trolls, and be sure your nether magic is up to a high level which insures your ability to summon more often
you push 'shift' then 'disarm', and when the bar highlights across the images, you click the image below that corrosponds to the one above when the highlighted bar hits that image.
hmmm, is it a quest? I can only think of one, where you fight him at the Tomb of Souls..that demon? He is a kalkydra, and there's a certain way to kill him, I'm just wondering if that's the one..
I have widows xp, so it works...do you use the desktop icon to open up the game? It won't work on mine if I do that for some reason, but I go to the 'start' button and find it there, then it opens up for me...I don't know why, and if that doesn't work, try re-installing it. Other than that I'm not sure...hope it works!
OH, and I don't think it matters if it's regular or CE...but I don't have the regular, so you may want to ask someone who does have the origional version and see if they had the same problem :)

You don't need the origional, but I had that problem when I used the desktop icon to start the game, but when I went to the 'start' menu and clicked on it that way it worked..I don't know if that's your case, but that's what worked for me! I have no idea how many CEs there are, I do'nt know how to find that out :S
this has been a very helpful tool in my completion of the game. I wanna play online but my cd key is invalid (legit retail version of game) so i have to play using direct ip, but its so hard to find people that still play online

wow o.0 i had no idea lol the only "cheats" i know are bugs like dungeon lords v1.0 for infinity money and therefore spells ,weapons etc and then update to 1.4 xD or the multiplayer thing where you do the trade with voraatus and get the cataclysm spell and then save,go to multiplayer,get spell again and repeat xD i got 22 cataclysm spells now lol but i didnt know there were cheats...
but be warned (lol i sound like someone in the game now...) when you do that and then go back to the game no one will remember you...it's like you're a new character.you wont even be let to see vartugg...and Mara isnt there anymore xD so when you do it make sure you start a new game...again with multiplayer lol and you start at a high lvl too with ur gear and everything...i got a 40 lvl elf mage now xD does 100+dmg with magic missle...you can imagine how much he does with cataclysm...all of them
wait is it the collector's edition? because if not you better download all the patches before you start playing (fixes a lot of bugs, gives you map,ect)
this game is awesome i just get stuck in the city, cant find the way out of the city and all. It's very fun i recommend buying it if u like RPG's like Guild Wars. It is an ominous game though its almost always dark and the monsters some times scare the heck out of u but u can adjust the time between attacks and all.
Yea, I uninstalled it to try Guild Wars and I want it back lol. I don't like Guild wars as much, but I just started, so maybe it'll grow on me. If not, it's back to Dungeon lords!!
Hiya, I have the original dungeon lords and I can not upgrade it to version 1.3. I was wondering if you new anything about it and how to install it? I found a download and downloaded it, but it still says version 1.1 at Main menu. Any clues? or should I go out and buy the CE? Thanks
I dont know anything about downloading it, I bought the CE version, which I would suggest because people have been asking me how to download it because they either can't get it to work, or they can't find it. I love having the game on hand as well :) However, I just recently uninstalled it, becasue I'm starting out on Guild Wars!

hi again, how you got your person to be a deathlord because i've done the marauder quest and now i got to kill minas taw and save that knight but i cant find where they are, if you know could you please let me know where they are please.
Minas Taw is down by the Thrall camp, where you get the totem of the tree in the forbidden lands. Once you get to the camp coming from directly northward of the camp, you take a left and head that way for a while and a little northward, he's in that region. There's a little shack where he is, but usually he'll show up running toward you if you get close enough to the shack.
You mean the glitch where you save the game when the shadow gate appears, and when you re-load, it dissapears? that one sucks real bad. I don't know why there's no one online! I can't get online because I don't have a CD key, but there's alot of people wanting me to get online, so there's some people I know of that do on occasion, maybe you just went on at a bad time?? I dunno.... :S I wish I could get online tho :( :(
actually i didnt physically get to the shadow ruins yet, it was the next thing to do, i was in skuldoon, standing behind maloke brane(he gives the big bad mog quest)...i saved when i was standing behind him, and when i loaded it i was stuck, i couldnt move attack defend or even talk to him...so i started over

Yea, the collectors edition is definentaly worth getting...I would be so ticked if someone broke mine! Ugh. Did you get to complete the game at least?? That would suck more if you didn't, the temples in the second half of the game are best!

The Gothic games are the best RPG's ever! You should play Gothic I, it has a beautiful story and it continues on GOthic II + The Night Of The Rven. Next is Gothic 3, but it has some performance issues! anyway, super game indeed! If you like DL, then you'll love Gothic series!
I see that you have some lag ingame. This issue is the same as Gothic 3! I've played DL an high end PC, but the lag is still present! performance glitch!
Several people have told me that! And it has more than one, so that's good too :) Yes, my game lags when there's a ton of enemies after me, or if an enemy is spawning. Sometimes when there's something else going on on my pc while I'm playing the game it will lag also. Other than that it's pretty good! Thanks for the info!

sorry but morrowind isnt as good as oblivion becouse in oblivion you have so many choices to choose from and the quests are amazing, morrowind is older and is good, im not putting it down or anything but oblivion is better, but morrowind is good to.

gothic 3 is good game but the loading in the game takes like 30 secs :) so after playing a while it starts to feel boring cos u die like every 40 secs so u need to load alot :D. tho i played it to the end like the 2 other gothics wich doesnt have that loading problem. its better to play the first 2 if u wanna play the 3 cos gothic 1,2,3 is almoust 1 big story

I wanted to say, after speaking to simon you can go a little to the right and you will see a small corner piece of a wall. behind it lies a chest. I can not host videos but I can help in game. you can often find me online under the name BloodElf or DEATHLORD. lvl 66 elf deathlord. I' have been through the game at least 8 times at the most, and I'm sure with find young lady's video walk through and my in game help both these can come into great use. btw I feel the walk throughs are great help.
Yes, that chest is nice. You don't even have to disarm it! I've beaten the game about the same amount of times. I love the final battle! Shaduroth is pretty cute ;P I'm having trouble getting online because it says my ID number is invalid. I guess that happens to alot of ppl?? It SUCKS because I want to play online so bad! In the begining I mainly advance my intellect, dexterity, agility, armor and weapons. Then I can move on to magic once I'm into the Bolen Feilds and also get to medium weapons and armor there (the good armor in that chest by the feilds is real nice)

hi anna could you tell me where to put the patch? i tried replacing the other files but it wrecked the game and im having to reinstall. The default place is my desktop but i didnt think that would have much effect. Thanks.

Sure! What you have to do is kill a moonbeast on the island in the northen lake (above Arindale) and once you have one, you 'shift' on the moonbridge and symbols appear on the left and right of a little box. You have to copy the order of the symbols on the right, by clicking on them on the left-hand side. It's pretty self-explainatory once you have the moonstone from the moonbeast.

dodge like roll sideways or something? I just move around sideways while I'm fighting so they don't hit me as much...the 'greater than' and 'less than' symbols on the keyboard are I believe the default buttons for rolling and shuffeling sideways. You enter the city through the sewers....it's in my walkthrough. You have to talk to the guard at the gate and then a goblin will tell you to follow him and will lead you to a gate to the sewers

I personally like melee because it's a little more challenging, but magic is always nice for hard fights. I like all the characters, I just used a human for my walkthrough.

It's a nether spell so you can mix kataals, and if they're available at a merchant they would be labled 'summon giant' (troll) and 'summon beast' (borloth).

You have to kill him using stricktly summoned creatures. I would suggest borloths and trolls, and be sure your nether magic is up to a high level which insures your ability to summon more often

I have widows xp, so it works...do you use the desktop icon to open up the game? It won't work on mine if I do that for some reason, but I go to the 'start' button and find it there, then it opens up for me...I don't know why, and if that doesn't work, try re-installing it. Other than that I'm not sure...hope it works!

OH, and I don't think it matters if it's regular or CE...but I don't have the regular, so you may want to ask someone who does have the origional version and see if they had the same problem :)

You don't need the origional, but I had that problem when I used the desktop icon to start the game, but when I went to the 'start' menu and clicked on it that way it worked..I don't know if that's your case, but that's what worked for me! I have no idea how many CEs there are, I do'nt know how to find that out :S

this has been a very helpful tool in my completion of the game. I wanna play online but my cd key is invalid (legit retail version of game) so i have to play using direct ip, but its so hard to find people that still play online

wow o.0 i had no idea lol the only "cheats" i know are bugs like dungeon lords v1.0 for infinity money and therefore spells ,weapons etc and then update to 1.4 xD or the multiplayer thing where you do the trade with voraatus and get the cataclysm spell and then save,go to multiplayer,get spell again and repeat xD i got 22 cataclysm spells now lol but i didnt know there were cheats...

but be warned (lol i sound like someone in the game now...) when you do that and then go back to the game no one will remember you...it's like you're a new character.you wont even be let to see vartugg...and Mara isnt there anymore xD so when you do it make sure you start a new game...again with multiplayer lol and you start at a high lvl too with ur gear and everything...i got a 40 lvl elf mage now xD does 100+dmg with magic missle...you can imagine how much he does with cataclysm...all of them

wait is it the collector's edition? because if not you better download all the patches before you start playing (fixes a lot of bugs, gives you map,ect)

this game is awesome i just get stuck in the city, cant find the way out of the city and all. It's very fun i recommend buying it if u like RPG's like Guild Wars. It is an ominous game though its almost always dark and the monsters some times scare the heck out of u but u can adjust the time between attacks and all.

Yea, I uninstalled it to try Guild Wars and I want it back lol. I don't like Guild wars as much, but I just started, so maybe it'll grow on me. If not, it's back to Dungeon lords!!

Hiya, I have the original dungeon lords and I can not upgrade it to version 1.3. I was wondering if you new anything about it and how to install it? I found a download and downloaded it, but it still says version 1.1 at Main menu. Any clues? or should I go out and buy the CE? Thanks

I dont know anything about downloading it, I bought the CE version, which I would suggest because people have been asking me how to download it because they either can't get it to work, or they can't find it. I love having the game on hand as well :) However, I just recently uninstalled it, becasue I'm starting out on Guild Wars!

Yea I've played it twice and I found someone who's showing me the ropes..I really like the game though, even though I'm such a noob! lol. Maybe in a week or so I'll be good :) You should try it and we can play :D

Minas Taw is down by the Thrall camp, where you get the totem of the tree in the forbidden lands. Once you get to the camp coming from directly northward of the camp, you take a left and head that way for a while and a little northward, he's in that region. There's a little shack where he is, but usually he'll show up running toward you if you get close enough to the shack.

You mean the glitch where you save the game when the shadow gate appears, and when you re-load, it dissapears? that one sucks real bad. I don't know why there's no one online! I can't get online because I don't have a CD key, but there's alot of people wanting me to get online, so there's some people I know of that do on occasion, maybe you just went on at a bad time?? I dunno.... :S I wish I could get online tho :( :(

actually i didnt physically get to the shadow ruins yet, it was the next thing to do, i was in skuldoon, standing behind maloke brane(he gives the big bad mog quest)...i saved when i was standing behind him, and when i loaded it i was stuck, i couldnt move attack defend or even talk to him...so i started over
favorite race so far: elves+mage...magic is pwnage

Yea, the collectors edition is definentaly worth getting...I would be so ticked if someone broke mine! Ugh. Did you get to complete the game at least?? That would suck more if you didn't, the temples in the second half of the game are best!
I really don't care for night time either, so I make sure I'm by a fire as much as possible to zip it to daylight :) Hope you have another chance to play!!

The Gothic games are the best RPG's ever! You should play Gothic I, it has a beautiful story and it continues on GOthic II + The Night Of The Rven. Next is Gothic 3, but it has some performance issues! anyway, super game indeed! If you like DL, then you'll love Gothic series!
I see that you have some lag ingame. This issue is the same as Gothic 3! I've played DL an high end PC, but the lag is still present! performance glitch!

Several people have told me that! And it has more than one, so that's good too :) Yes, my game lags when there's a ton of enemies after me, or if an enemy is spawning. Sometimes when there's something else going on on my pc while I'm playing the game it will lag also. Other than that it's pretty good! Thanks for the info!

sorry but morrowind isnt as good as oblivion becouse in oblivion you have so many choices to choose from and the quests are amazing, morrowind is older and is good, im not putting it down or anything but oblivion is better, but morrowind is good to.

gothic 3 is good game but the loading in the game takes like 30 secs :) so after playing a while it starts to feel boring cos u die like every 40 secs so u need to load alot :D. tho i played it to the end like the 2 other gothics wich doesnt have that loading problem. its better to play the first 2 if u wanna play the 3 cos gothic 1,2,3 is almoust 1 big story

I wanted to say, after speaking to simon you can go a little to the right and you will see a small corner piece of a wall. behind it lies a chest. I can not host videos but I can help in game. you can often find me online under the name BloodElf or DEATHLORD. lvl 66 elf deathlord. I' have been through the game at least 8 times at the most, and I'm sure with find young lady's video walk through and my in game help both these can come into great use. btw I feel the walk throughs are great help.

Yes, that chest is nice. You don't even have to disarm it! I've beaten the game about the same amount of times. I love the final battle! Shaduroth is pretty cute ;P I'm having trouble getting online because it says my ID number is invalid. I guess that happens to alot of ppl?? It SUCKS because I want to play online so bad! Thanks for all the help! I'm sure your and my imput will get anyone through this game :) Thanks for the compliments as well!
