Well, I don't know for sure. I'm assuming that 9mm is the standard issue round for most law enforcement and the guy doesn't seem to be getting hit with a round that has much stopping power.

I didn't see any muzzle flash from the suspects gun however you can easily see the muzzle flash from the officers guns. I think it was suicide by cop myself. I also read a post by Mr. Rok N Roll, the suspsect could have been on drugs which took more rounds to drop him than normal, like PCP...
@kaddyman61 It is a gun and there is muzzle flash, you can only see it on the first camera view at around 22 seconds in. Just stare at the left center edge of the screen and you will see it. The other camera view gets too much back lighting from the store which makes it impossible to see.

I dont know about you, but shooting to kill can consist of emptying out the whole clip (14 bullets).
