  • Still loving this so much, thank you xxx

  • Very moving. The entire cast did a wonderful job in bringing this inspired work to life. Who is the stunning dancer in the role of the mother?

  • @shockter

Thank you! The lead in this role is Jenna Dannenberger. She is amazing in this ballet! The choreographer, Kimberly Chapman, is also in the Ballet.

  • @vrdc79 I assume that Ms. Chapman performs the 'harbinger of death' roll. First viewed on my iphone: with the dark costume I was not able to appreciate the dimension and power of that roll. Very impressive. I have not enjoyed a piece of work this much for years. Excellent choreography, it harkens me back to my days, long ago, dancing at Harkness, Graham, and touring Humphry and Limon works. This 'regional' company is a gift to its region. Bravo to the cast and crew and keep up the great work!

  • pascalgal and everyone else who doesn't know: The person singing IL ADORE on this video IS Boy George!!

It is writen by him, co-writen by John Themis and sung by George.

On the DVD TABOO it is also George singing!

It has never been covered by anyone!

  • so beautiful, did you put the music of boy George as background or is it originally played there?

  • Hello! It was originally set to Boy George. What you see is the true vision of a choreographer with great music for inspiration!

  • Simply beautiful...I hope BG got a chance to see this video. Look at the passion.

    Thanks for sharing.....

  • Sad and beautiful, thank you so much, xxx

  • i remember seeing this piece at the RDA national festival. my entire company cried so hard! beautiful.

  • This has always been one of my favorite songs and always manages to make me a bit teary eyed. To see a wonderful production like this just adds another layer to the experience. And more tears.

  • Dear Nicole,

we have all be touched by this sort of grief or know someone that has been so unfortunate to have experienced this kind of pain that you have beautifully portrayed with this outstanding piece of work that I am privelaged to have written music on. You got me. You got me good. You are all amazing artists, what expertise, beauty, grace, feel and interpretation. Absolutely stunning God bless you all.

  • When I watch this, tears well into my eyes. This dance touches us in a place that needs to be touched more often. When we watch this we realize how precious life is.

  • Nicole, Thank you for such a beautiful and loving tribute. As I watched it the first several times I was amazed at how deeply it touched me. Since you posted this, I have lost one of my own brothers rather unexpectedly and to watch this today - well it has touched me in a way that nothing else can. It's a touching tribute to life and makes you realize just how short life can be...

  • Wow! What a beautiful tribute to something so painful.

    Thanks to Ro's blogger-friend.

  • Got this link from R Blog. Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!!!!! I have goosebumps and tears. Thank you Nicole. Watching this was like a God moment. Totally AMAZING!

  • took my breath away, literally! So moving and beautiful...

  • What a beautiful, moving piece. Both my husband and I were in tears. Great job.

  • Thank you Nicole for that information. What talent New Jersey has. I have no words.

  • Thank you to all who have watched this. The dancers are kids (and formers) in the VRDC, a non-profit organization in Southern New Jersey (most under 17). This was performed at the National Regional Dance America Festival in April 2007, and ranked third in the celebration of dance of 2007. Personally, the choreographer is a wonderful friend who dedicated this ballet to my 2 brothers, Eric & Jarrod. There is beauty in everything, even death.

  • The death of a child. Made we weep with joy.

Sad yet beautiful. We never celebrate the beauty of death.

  • Does anyone know the original source of this Boy George song? Is it from an album? A show? Did he write it? What is its story?

  • I don't know much about the original source, but the song was a part of the musical Boy George wrote called "TABOO". The song is available on the TABOO cast recordings, but I'm not quite sure where to get the version sung by Boy George.

  • Il Adore was first featured (I think) as a single, then on his "Cheapness & Beauty" cd. The recordings from Taboo are not of George singing it. John Themis co-wrote the song. George's version is available on itunes.

  • it's from the album "cheapness and beauty"..
