I first saw Dessau at Planet Earth In Knoxville probably around 1988 or 1989. Blew me away! This cover of "Isolation" is amazing! Have always loved their energy. I miss those days!
i love this band. In 1992 I lived in Nashville. Me and my friends would go see them live at small venues. I even got on stage and danced w/band and moshed w/crowd!!!! I miss them days!!!! Brings back sweet memories of my revolting youth.
I also seen the Grinning Plowman quite a few times!!! Love them too!!

THAT is what a good cover should be - faithful to the original while breaking the mold and expectations and increasing a particular aspect - in this case intensity.
I'm sure if I remember them. I saw a lot of national acts in Nashville but I think Dessau was one of the only local acts I really made an effort to see.
I tired to get Michael to do a track or two w/ me... Sent him some demos, that he actually like, but it never ended up happening.. not yet anyway! lol.
I also play in a band w/ their (Plowman) old guitarist, Mark. If you do a google search for DMDT we should be at the top of the list... It's just a myspace page, but at least you'd get to check out the music...

@sluggo2112 The Grinning Plowman beat all. Just no comparison to any other band. Jet Black Factory was also one of the best from Nashville back then. Good times...
Nashville folx--reminds me of a party in Spring '85, in Westmeade, then the cops came and the party migrated to Belle Meade. Seem to recall some members of The Enemy, but not so clear on ones like Raging Fire. Yeah, I do remember hearing this on 91, though there was that constant problem of preppy wenches "borrowing" vinyl from the station.

I think even the most diehard Joy Division fan would agree this is a good cover.

This album from Dessau was awesome, but their image was horrible! No wonder they went nowhere fast! Too bad!!!!

@dmdt1313 The Grinning Plowman is still the best band to ever come out of Nashville.
