Think "old-fashioned"! Today's processed and chemical ladened pet products put cats at risk! Clumping or binding litters promote Urinary Tract Infections, try natural pine or wheat litters. Common commercial pet foods can also put your cat at risk, cat food made with human grade ingredients like Wellness brand, Abady, etc. are much better for your cat's overall health including the prevention of Urinary Tract Infection. Also, feed him/her mostly wet food.
i only feed mind canned food, and recently he peed on the couch which is uncommon for him... today he did it again and i saw a little bit of blood in the urine , im concerned, is it too late now for homeopathic remedies or i should take him to a vet?
I researched nutrition & urinary tract disorders after our cats suffered from them. Most important info was advice saying to get them onto canned food only or a balanced raw diet. Since switching to 100% grain-free canned (basic store brand costs us $0.99 / 13.2 oz, 374 g can), we've had no more crystals or bladder inflammation! Some rescue groups & vets also see a link between declawing, stress, pain & urinary problems. I think long-haired cats might also get dehydrated from grooming.
IT'Z SO FLUFFEY!!!

Signs to look for:
Straining as if constipated without anything coming out (cat is actually trying to urinate)
Urinating in strange places or outside of the litterbox
Frustration in the litter box/constant scratching or scraping the litter
Pacing around or near litterbox
Constant getting in and out of litter box in one trip to the bathroom
Licking genitals more than usual
Blood in urine, in litter, around or on genitals
Meowing or hissing while in litterbox or after leaving litterbox/bathroom
