One small thing. You used the word "ability" no the meaning is DUTY. That is where we fail so the state picks up the pieces. And it is only an experiment if it has not been proven. Proofe would be the UK, France , Germany , Canada. Hell Cube has a more Christian system for medicine and education than the USA.
Around the "free" world social medicine and Education is the norm. The USA has much of that structure in place but is balking on social medicine.
Am not religious in the slightest but i can't help agree with what you say. In an ideal world philanthropy would work better only the worlds not a ideal place is it? So on balance government does have to provide intervention.
OH MY GOD LOWER YOUR EYEBROWS!!! Also, I would definitely contest that capitalist Christians are more philantropic than socialists. Socialism is merely a more controlled form of philanthropy, so that people who aren't philantropic out of the goodness of their hearts (be that taught religiously or not) are forced to be. Which is definitely a good thing. Sadly the world cannot rely on philanthropy.
@leilalarouge The thing is, we don't want to be controlled. That is tyranny against the individual. It's not freedom. You cannot force someone to do something they do not wish to do.
what do you mean socialized education? it's already socialized our tax dollars fund it, in fact i would go a step further and have the government pay for more peoples college tuition. and other government run programs work great, you wouldn't privatize your police would you? If the government ran a non-profit public option it would help cover the 50 million americans without health insurance. Why does france have the number one health care in the world? why is America thirty-seventh?
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (New International Version) 11Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, 12so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will NOT BE DEPENDENT ON ANYBODY.
@MrCoolguy6273 And that's why only fucktards are actually following that book and can't see the the world from more than its perspective. The world ain't a dichotomy get over it.
I think I just insulted 1/4 of the earth's population . . . that's kinda sad.
I live in Europe in a country that has socialized health care and higher taxes and a "socialistic model" as you said and I'd never, ever, ever, exchange it for the American system. Not in a billion years. I'm a student and I haven't spent 1$ so far on my health and everything's been provided for and taken care of perfectly. When I'm a worker I'll pay it back for other younger people. I understand your position and respect it. Just my 2cents from first had experience.
I live in Canada, I wish we would start to look at what Britains doing, but the United States, is just south of us, and SO many people I know think. Wow I'm not moving there, or the that the states suck, its amazing how down they are looked upon. That also my 2 cents
To be more precise: The European Model is not "Socialism", but a capitalist system in which the state clean up the worst mess free markets do for the majority of people.
It is model in which the state tries to balance the dynamics and undoubted efficiency of a capitalist system with the needs of the majority of people and ideas of a human society.

Thank you for being one of the few who has the courage to openly admit the political motivation that drives christianity today.
