@10mac10s you have to make your own choices here, it is different for every batch of plaster, plasters are done by feel and consistency!! coats are done the same way, but a typical application is base coat, scratch coat, fill coat and then finish coat, thats my method. Clay prices also vary, I am not trying to avoid your question here 10mac10s, the best way to know this is go to a workshop where someone is teaching earthen plastering!!
