Thinking crazy thoughts here. Ever just want to drive the speed limit. I was pulled over 10 years ago. RCMP cop says, "Dude that's a real STOP sign you just blew through." I says, "Busted!" He just walked to his car and drove away. Now STOP signs make me paranoid.

That's fair enough if the speed limit is decent. But in many areas the speed limit is too slow for the surrounds and driving so slow can be boring and distracting. Especially at 3am when You just wanna get home to bed and there is not another car in sight whats the harm in breaking the limit then?

No V1 lost and the radar WON. You just weren't going enough over the speedlimit that he wanted to mess with. He would have had your speed locked in before you slowed down. He was just looking for somebody going faster. That is the only thing that saved you.

ive got a ticket on that very road coming back from the airport going to coquitlam. I now have the V1 along with a the best tool on the planet, a z24 laser jammer, between the jammer and the detector i haven't had a ticket since. jammer kills laser in its tracks and has cops looking at the gun trying to figure out why he didnt get my speed. and the v1 always gives me enough warning against sloppy radar. I ripped past a hwy 1 laser trap at 190km and got away clean too (close to horseshoe bay)

These radars do work but they don't. The reason I say they don't work is because when the Kband radar lets you know that there is a cop in the area, that cop has already got its speed gun on your car before you even get close to it. So they are a waste of money. yeah it beeps, but that officer sees you before you see him. and is already tracking your speed.

That is not true. Do a little research before posting something like that. You may be confusing K with laser. Instant-on, which is used in this video, can be detected from great distances. It all depends on the situation. Every time an officer uses it, it will set off a detector in range. So it may beeeeeep then stop beeeeep stop... and by the time it's your turn to get radared, you've already slowed down.

Laser, on the other hand is hard to detect but still detectable and beatable.

that braaaaaap then stop and braaaaaap then stop saved my butt the other day. an oncoming cop was instant-oning traffic ahead of me and i recognized it and slowed down. Instant-on and POP radar are NOT laser and this is obviously not laser. one, that's not the sound a V1 makes for laser. two, at normal "shooting" distance a laser beam is only like 4 feet wide so there is NO warning to you when he shoots other cars. and since i have space left i'll add that a V1 will eat a Bel/Escort/RMR's lunch!

good general advice is of course try your best not to speed... if you must look at traffic's body language ahead. Brake lights, frantic changing lanes, and people flashing you, etc. All spell somethings cooking.

If you just happen to be the unlucky first car in the stack approaching the cop you're out of luck even with a V1. Radar works best on the closest vehicle and any cop worth his salt estimates your speed visually before he pops the radar on, there's a nice little button called "hold" on the radar that keeps it from transmitting until he's ready to use it then "BAM"...

I agree. However, if you have some traffic behind you and you slam on the brake, there is higher chance that the officer is unable to visually identify which car was the speeding, especially at night.

Oh no doubt it can help you but lots of folks think it's a magic bullet, you have to use it smart... I am a cop and I like to see what tactics are used to counter the tools of my trade. It's funny how many people I stop with detectors, of course they get a ticket if they have one... Best advice is not to speed.

@georgetime even if he visually identifies your speed and he doesn't have you on his radar he doesn't have prof of you speeding there for its you against him in court and he wont go through that trouble. Cops are lazy and most of the time they don't feel like pulling people over unless they have a dead line to meet with their tickets, witch is highly unlikely bc there are plenty of people who are speeding. I have V1 and it saved me from a laser KA band in Wisconsin 80 on 65.

I have the V1 too do you have the little hard to see scratch's on the lens of V1. Little lines you see at a certain angle on the v1? Iam wondering scratching the lens effects the range of the V1?
