  • That formula looks a little to thick...is it that way because you are using a spoon??

  • Greaaaatt Video!!!!

  • this lil parrot is real darn cute !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They are so sweet when they are that age! I'm hand feeding several now myself. It's amazing how quickly they grow! Be sure to check out our Parrotlet videos! :)

  • Thanks, love your videos too. Jiffy seen in the video will be 2 years old in August. He is my special little buddy. He talks to me, showers with me and loves to tag along. I have 19 other birds from greys to finches. Who knew that a one ounce creature (Jiffy bird) would be so much a happy part of my life. He was my only baby that was hatched and handfed with me. Then I decided not to breed birds as I realized that I could not part with them when they grew up! Best wishes with yours!

  • How is the little one doing now? Thanks for sharing your videos with all of us.

  • haha, when the hand grabbed the baby I was like OMG!! but then it put him back again as if nothing had happened xD

They're SO cute even without their feathers!

  • How do you introduce a new parrotlet to another? I have a blue pacific male and I would like to set him up with a female. I have raised love birds before and they can be a bit nasty to one another, but I have been told that parrotlets can be worse.

  • How about a plastic spoon instead? to take care of his beak.

  • your comment is very cute! his beak jaj thats cute

  • I Just bought 2 babys (3 Weeks) !!!! Boy And Girl!!

  • Do you think spoon feeding is safer or syringe?

  • Imo and this is just my opinion I in no way disagree with the use of spoons but in my past and current experience with hand feeding birds I prefer to use a syringe to lessen the risk of the birds aspirating. Feeding by spoon is not bad but imo a syringe has less risk of aspiration.

  • He's a hungry one, amazing video!

  • Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! Ugly and cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! :D

  • cute

  • oohhh, so cute, he has a teddy bear too.

    i love that.

    well done.

  • He still has his teddy bear, and cuddles and plays with it to relax himself.

  • i wish you'd put a video of that.

    how cute :D

  • i just figured out u have cocatile i read the comments. i had a cocatile it got attacked i dont know what bird hurt it... it got blind in one eye and both feet were cut open i was soo upset itss still alive today his name is dexter anyway do you know what fruits and vegtables i could feed him thanks bye

  • So sorry about your cockatiel. They are so gentle, beautiful trusting birds and other birds will attack them. And it can happen in a second. Please call a veterinarian and ask about what to do. Best to you and your bird.

  • i think its egg food

  • what did u feed it wanna know please tell p.s CUTE!!

  • Zupreem Bird baby Handfeeding formula

He is now 7 mos old and the cutest little guy-a spectacle parrotlet. Thanks for watching.

  • That is fantastic. I have just spoken to someone who is going to give me a baby to hand rear. I am just a bit worried about will he/she get on with my two cockatiels when it gets older?

  • Unfortunately, probably not. Parrotlets have a reputation for being fiercely territorial toward other species, even birds that are larger than they are. Of course, there are exceptions. Most do best as pets when kept singly. I just bought a 4 week old pacific female today, she's on handfeedings and is quite a little pig. While I do have other pet birds, I'm going to keep her away from them to make sure she stays nice and tame. Best of luck with all your birds.

  • May I also ask, are they night feeders as babies, or just during the day like tiels? Cx

  • Only during the day. Not allowing their crops to empty overnight can lead to major problems for a parrotlet. Put your baby to bed with a full crop, and it should be empty and ready to be filled again in the morning. :)

  • Parrotlets will even attack each other. I have male and female green rump parrotlets, male and female spectacle parrotlets, and a male and female blue pacific parrotlet. They get along mostly with their mates but cannot tolerate looking at the other parrotlets. Although they do like to "talk" to each other. I keep the single baby you saw in the video in a completely different room. He calls to the other birds, but he is definitely my little buddy.

  • is that more parrotlets in the backround i hear?

  • There may be some parrotlets you hear in the background. I have 24 birds and my house is always full of bird sounds that I am too used to to notice. I have 2 blue pacific parrotlets, 2 green rumps, and the parents of this baby spectable parrotlet. I also have 6 cockatiels, 8 finches , 2 african greys, and our first bird: a blue crown conure. Life is very exciting here.

  • yes it is i really cannot wait to feed another baby. i love to do it and i miss getting up in the middle of the night just to feed him lol. i'm glad he is a wonderful pet. ((my caique i think is not to keen on me having another baby though lol))

  • Congraulations on your baby he's absolutly beautiful. i just adopted out my first baby, and american bugie. i miss him so must. I do have a question though your formula seems to be much thicker than mine was. i surenge fed and i wondered if that had anything to do with the spoon feeding. thanks.

  • Thanks - Jiffy is now a full grown bird and my little buddy. The formula's consistency changed depending on how much water was added. I made it thicker as he got older but it is really thin here just looks thick due to the spoon. Handfeeding was a wonderful experience for me and made the bird so friendly. Thanks.

  • How soon can i handfeed a parrotlet?

  • Most breeders begin handfeeding at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Feeding from day one can be done, but isn't a good idea unless you have a lot of experience.

  • thank you for posting the vid uncut. It really made the transition easier for my baby parrotlet to except food from a human. She'd hear the sound of the baby online, and it would cause her to beg too.

  • Congratulations. They grow so fast don't they? The baby here is a boy spectacle parrotlet. He has the blue rings (spectacles) around his eyes. He is so adorable and lovable.

  • what are you feeding it?

  • Hi, thanks for watching. I am feeding Zupreem Baby Bird Handfeeding Formula.

Hi (Jiffy) eats on his own now and is full sized and is cutest spectacle parrotlet ever! Thanks

  • this is awesome

  • OMG! this is CUTE CUTE CUTE!
