He can't be a fully-fledged muslim because being a fully-fledged muslim requires many years of education on koranic recitation and rules/rituals for reciting prayers, fasting, cleansing oneself, and general behavior. He attended a catholic school in Indonesia for 2 years that taught the muslim faith to those of the muslim background aswell and the catholic faith.
