  • First in Asia!!!

  • that dude saluted to hitler on 1:31

  • @tonymsff he was giving the go ahead to jump.

  • @tonymsff you know the way we used to do the pledge of allegiance looked like we saluted hitler but we changed it

  • @Skivt34 lol fail. you are a dumbass.

  • what is the name of the song?

  • My dads in 1st group.

  • what a song by who?

  • SF have always looked pudgy to me. It doesnt look like they could do half the stuff Infantry Marines could do.

Sure, they have balls and they're unmatched in their cultural knowledge but they dont look intimidating at all! Then again the US Army standards are pretty low right now.

  • i wouldnt say that SF soldiers couldnt do what marine infantry couldnt do but yeaaaa Army did lower there standards to where all you have to do is drool on a keyboard to pass the ASVAB. But SF is raising the bar.

  • @McGuire5926 they have a diferent mission then the infantry hence special forces

  • It is unfortunate that you don't educate yourself before making stupid comments. This video was shot in the 90''s and included in the video are men who are active in creating and training the elete fighting group of Marines.

Besides, as long as these guys are all fighting for your right to say stupid, uneducated stuff any time that you want, what do you care if they are Army or Marines or pudgy or not????

  • Youre full of shit...I wish you could see our mission load right now...fucking homo

  • Coming from a 0311 marine that has friends in the Army SF, The SF soldiers can do everything marine infantry can plus more. They training is close to 2 years before they even hit the field.

  • @Gordonalways1

The average SF trooper is in his mid-thirties, college educated, speaks 3 languages.

    SSG Piper 43, 7th SFG KIA 6-16-05 was a former Marine(USMC 80-83)

SFC Tulley 33, 1st SFG KIA 6-26-07 was initially a Marine.

Sgt Wood 47, 20th SFG KIA 1-9-04 was a civilian emergency room Doctor.

Green berets normally have years of military and life experience. They are not normally new recruits.

  • @jopalo31675 unless the are 18xrays

  • @dylang606 Yes, you are right. The 18X program allows selected individuals to enlist directly for Special forces training as a result of a pre-existing unique skill. An example of this is SSG Ayman Taha age 31, 5th SFG KIA 12/30/05 in Iraq. He was an Arabic native speaker working on his Doctorates when he joined the military. So his skill was his command of the Arabic language and his education. He was in his late 20s when he joined. So he had some life experiance.

  • @jopalo31675 I have a question. I went to West Point with my mother for her reunion and in the dorms they had Special Forces try outs, do they have those because West Point spits out the best people or is it something else?

  • @MrBarri13 : I'm not aware of that. It could be a pre-selection process. But, normally officers must either be Captains/0-3 or first lieutenants/0-2 promotable to Cpt to even try out. I would assume the average officer going through selection has between 4-8 yrs in service and is around 28-30 yrs old. West pointers are good, but still need real service experience. Experience is something the SF really look for.

  • @jopalo31675 Oh ok thanks for the information. I really appreciate it

  • @MrBarri13 : No, problem. It sounds like you may be heading down that path one day...Good Luck.

  • @jopalo31675 thanks!

  • Nice...to see home LOL. I was stationed with 1st Group with GSC SIGDET from Sept 2001 until Nov 2008 when i got out. 2 deployments to the P.I. and t2 to Iraq. Best time i have ever had......i miss that shit.

  • its every boys dream, but the one thing that go's through their minds are what will happen next.

  • green beret! lead the way

  • Interesting comments this video of mine has drawn up (I missed the thread from rhugga). Yes, this is 1st SFG(A) back in the early 90's, a sample of what we really did on a day to day basis back then. The credit here is to the mix which was a unit then... ODA's, GSC and the BN's SOTA/MID. This was at the time that the Green Beret was worn by all assigned to the unit and did the units mission. Before the dagger of politics and jealousy split us into Green and Maroon Beret wearing soldiers.

  • In that case, Mike, thank you for this video. I am sure you are probably wondering how this video ever got on youtube and I haven't the faintest idea how it did either. It's quiet proffessionals like yourself that keep this nation and the world safe everyday.

  • it seems that the only thing everybody is wrong about here is how crappy rush is. band rules. also keep in mind this footage is from the early 90's. also fuck this black beret everybody gets to wear bullshit. you have to earn that shit. nobody even wears it right anymore. lol

  • sweet video! I'm an 18x and shipping in a few months so this really got me pumped up.

  • You guys spend way too much time talking like experts about something you have heard about second hand at best.

  • oh they don't? then why do they sell the fuckin doo rags at almost every PX in the country?

  • trailer trash lol

Im an ROTC cadet and im in the National Guard at the same time as being a full time student. Maybe i should fax you my DD214, or maybe send you some pics from when i got to airborne school this summer.

  • rhugga, i've been looking over your comments for this video...seriously you are an idiot and definitely not a fucking ranger. you are a fat son of a bitch couch ranger

  • Hey rhugga have you ever even been in the military. I used to be in the first group and everything in this video is actual footage of what we did. Not all jumps are halo or haho, most are actually static line jumps and usually you only put out 5-10 people on a pass. As for the scuba team they usually worked on their own. You rarely ever seen scuba and the rest of the teams training together.

  • I tend to agree. Having been a jumpmaster in late 67 via TRNG Group, I never saw men firing pistols on any DZ.

BTW, The jumpmaster gives the final command after visual seeing the DZ and it''s markers,, and ;he also usually has a man to pull the static lines out of the way.The jumpmaster jumps last, Please remenver this is a chopper jump - not a fixed wing.

  • where's the scuba team!?

  • I am sending a copy of this to my old team sgt

  • 1st Group kid born on Oki 1967. Naha. LOVE all my God Father's and Uncles. LOVE THE SONG!!!

  • I hate the music, but I love the video.

1st SFG is awesome. hooah for ya.

If you switch from USMC to army for rangers or SF you have to wear army uniforms huh?

  • Sweet. I'm going 18X when I enlist after college.

Nice song, too. I love Rush!

  • hope you make it, if not infantry it'll be.

  • Yeah I figured it to be "Tom Sawyer" by Rush. But this seems to be a somewhat different version.

  • FT LEWIS hooah

  • This is out in WA. 1st SFG is stationed up here.

  • Where is this happening? Uwharrie?

  • They're jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!

  • Any1 knows what's the name of the song?

    Thx in advance

  • I know it's by rush

  • Ok, I am the author and owner of this video and I don't know how it got on here, found it entirely by mistake. The comments bty were quite humorous... funny what people talk about. So people realize, this is a video made while I was learning a new editing system and the music dates the video. The footage is the property of myself and 1 other who I will not list without his permission. Glad everyone enjoyed it - but don't talk about it - get out there and do it.

    Mike

  • I agree, some of the commnets are pure shitheads. Great video !

    Stay safe SFer.

  • Col. Beckwith used the cover of an Irish businessman and got stuck down there, thx to Mr. Carter. Was a difficult time for the SF-community.

  • Army SF, or the Green Berets, are top notch. They are the only unit save CAG and the Brit SAS that actually had a high op tempo before 9/11. They have more experience in FID than anyone out there. An excellent organization.

  • That's not true actually. CAG has a very open recruiting policy. I used to believe it was only army, and that the all branches of the military thing was bullshit, but I have a buddy in the USMC who was stationed in Okinawa and was required to go to a recruiting briefing. He said they do indeed recruit from all branches.

  • Filthyslope is right, they do indeed have an open selection. Although you are still clasified as Navy or AF. Just because you join an army SF team, doesn't mean that you are in the Army.

  • you must be a ranger of amy SF before DELTA probaly having both is best

  • no love for divers here...

  • Comment removed

  • The Green Berets are just as highly trained as Delta, just in different objectives. The Green Beret training course (SF pipeline) is the on of the longest and most vigorous training pipelines the US Military has to offer (yes even longer that SEALs).

  • delta is comprised of the best that rangers and green berets have to offer. when delta needs more soldiers, they go and find them. one cant join delta because he wants to, he joins delta when delta chose him.

  • make yourself a straw when you go to RIP, you might find your head a foot or two under muck in the swamps. It wouldn't be the first time some poor bastard died out there.

  • Make sure you can run 5 miles in under 40 minutes, 60 push-ups, 75 sit-ups, 10 pull-ups; and the rest is mental determination to get through some very uncomfortable situations. Being hungry and getting by on only a few hours sleep is one of them. Good-luck.

  • Oorah is marine corps

    hooya is navy

    af dosent have one

    US ARMY IS HOOAH!!

  • air force is hoo-ya

  • dude.... HOO-RAH is Marines... not Army... Army are HOOAH!!!

  • o.O Ranger is Army and Army = Hooah not Hoorah, Hoorah is Marine Corps

  • Some noobs...Russian Special Force The Most best..

  • dont make us russians look bad you moron

  • Screw the russian special forces. Spetsnaz is nothing compared to delta, rangers, green berets, or navy seals.

  • I beleive delta force is basicly green berets rangers and navy seals all rolled into one. They do a selection process between all of the elite armed forces groups of america.

  • nope not really delta force is a highly trained counter terroism unit that usually deals with hostages or a kidnapping a highly important figure. the green berets are generaly arnt as well trained as the navy seals with BUDs nor are the green berets trained vigoursly as the delta

  • Delta does a whole lot more than Counter terrorism these days. The US Army Special Forces are fantastic trainers, the US Navy SEALS are fantastic combat swimmers, Marine FR is a fantastic reconnaissence unit, PJ's are fantastic CSAR specialists, CCT's are fantastic pathfinders. None of these units save Delta or Devgru should be used like infantrymen on any mission, unconventional or not. With the exception of SF CIF companies.
