jones wasnt tired because of the fight...he was tired because he was starting to get old,he had fight many difficult fights...no fighter lasts forever...at least he won that fight even if it was his first fight out of his prime...
I think Jones exhausted but he was nowhere near as tired as Sugar Ray Robinson was in that fight against joey Maxim. I saw that fight on ESPN Classic, Robinson could barely walk around the ring because of heat exhaustion, he literally collapsed.
Antonio Tarver began the demise of Roy Jones in this fight. He softened up Roy to be K.O.'d in their second fight and almost K.O'd again in the third fight. Roy Jones Jr. was never the same after fighting Tarver.
@Solowizard No, he wasn't the same after fighting Ruiz. It was the extreme weight gain and loss that did it. Tarver is not a particularly amazing fighter. He is pretty hollow actually.
@Streetz52 Look I'll tell you like I tell everyone els. Tarver talks a lot of shit. Why? Simply because he gave Roy the fight of his life. DIdnt win and bitched about it. Then he knocked Roy out. Sapped some of Roys confidence. Roy came back too early faught Glen got knocked out AGAIN. Then Roy was pretty much discouraged. He didnt want to take a small fight beacause he was always use to having big fights he didnt want to settle for less. Faught Tarver and lost in the 3rd fight. History was made
@240lane Yeah he was tired as hell in every fight after beating Ruiz.....Losing 17lbs of muscle at 35 years old is not the smartest idea for a fighter. After Ruiz he should've never dropped below cruiserweight.
it's really hard to look good against a good southpaw.

@kypselialani14 He was tired, because he nearly lost 30 pounds in a short amount of time, and he was fighting a better fighter.

@renegado454
I agree. It's just sad to see that Roy can't compete at the same level as Hopkins, Tarver and Johnson.
