There's a website that tells you how to play tunes on your cellphone with the numbers. Don't remember what it's called though, since I was using stumble when I found it.

On a landline phone you can do a trick and hold two buttons down at the same time to get a single tone, instead of that off-key Touch-Tone sound, but I don't think that would work on a cell phone.
