There is no glass or plastic lenses in them goggles! This was one of the funniest epsiodes. The best episode was when Opie used his slingshot and accidently killed a mama bird and he nursed the little baby birds and let them go at the end.Classic line? "When Opie says "Gosh Pa' the cage seems so empty" and Andy replies "Yeah, but don't the trees seem full"?

@michaeljustussvcc During the cold war, when this program was written, there was checkpoint in the Berlin Wall known as "Checkpoint Charlie". It was a flashpoint and it seemed likely that would be a good place for the cold war to turn hot. My guess is "Checkpoint Chicky" was simply Fife's half assed reference to checkpoint charlie. There was another episode where diplomats from the Soviet Union apparently met in Andy Griffeth's house.

@42408jason -- That little gem was the product of Fritzell and Greenbaum (who wrote that episode) - It was something they used to say when they were kids. "Abyssinia" means "I'll be seeing you." The response, "See ya Samoa," means "I'll see you some more."

Why is Andy suprised that Barney has a motorcycle? Wouldn't he have known about it when he signed the request from Barney for use of City funds and attended the City counsel meeting where they voted to give Barney permission to by a motorcycle at the auction. Or did Barney buy it with his own money?
