  • she is a tough woman to beat! intellectually admirable! Fight on what you believe in!

  • well done clare ,,loved that debate,,,,you smashed both for six ,,,i think you need another round with carmon,,,and the cocaine snorter

  • w0w

  • Claire Solomon isn't the right person to be representing students. I'm sure she has our best interests at heart, but if you're going to win an argument like this one you need someone who can put forward a better argument than she does. Making snide comeback comments like 'well maybe the education system isn't very good then' isn't going to win you any supporters when our education system is one of the best in the world.

  • We tell our kids, "Get a good education and then get a good job." Biggest lie you can tell. First of all, education today is not what it used to be and how many millionaires does a good job produce? Fuk a job, start a closet repair business.

  • nicely done Claire, the more I here you speak the more I completely support you. We are currently occupying the Senate at the University of Kent in protest. Thanks for voicing truth, and justice.

  • Jeremy vine is trying to make Clare Solomon look irresponsible and violent he concentrates only on the violence as does MP Roger Gale. These guys have all had a subsidised education and now they don't want any one else to get the same.

  • Amazed what a tool the BBC commentator is.

  • Correction - Establishment GOONS

  • Clare Solomon did well, considering that she was beink heckled constantly by two establshment goods who were never interested in the real issues.

  • Jeremy Vine is as patronising a tory sympathiser as ever. He has made a career out of stoking the flames of Daily Mail bandwagons for the sake of lively radio debate. Blocking the discussion of progressive taxation in a debate about publicly funded education is simply bad journalism

  • "you want bus drivers to pay for you to go to college"... The next demo should feature hundreds of placards reading 'JEREMY VINE TORY TWAT'

  • Jeremy Vine makes me want to vomit.

  • quality...claire

  • Well done Clare.

Debt shouldn't be a normal part of life. "Skeleton" services should not be what we pass on to the younger generation. The "austerity regime" is a way of plugging the deficit that attacks the poor, the working class and students the hardest, and protects the profits of the bosses and rich business. Cameron increased the tax of bank profits from 0.04% to a whopping.... 0.07% (but at the same time reduced corporation tax and effectively cancelling out that increase. SHocking

  • This Tory says he works long hours...

but still finds time to be on a radio show!

  • hahahahaha...what a silly cunt

  • Well done Clare! Holy shiza! She's quick and gots skills

  • God that tory is a twat. Ditto for the presenter.

  • Did Mr Vine pay for his own education? Or did someone else pay for him to get a substandard mark in English?

  • Jermy Vine is a twat, talk about being biased!!!

  • Roger Gale, Tory scum!!!

  • The Tory scum got a foretaste of what they deserve. With 36.1% of the vote they're the "extremist minority", in power only because Nick Clegg stole my vote!! Students have been betrayed by politicians, denied representation and forced to take direct action against our rich oppressors. F**k fees!

  • Hey everyone, why not go to the easily findable BBC Complaints page to complain about Jeremy Vine's clear bias?

  • Brilliant job Clare. You demolished the smug, dishonest Tory mouthpiece... and fielded Jeremy Vine's blatant, snidey bias. And kept your temper. Bravo.

  • He's got a cheek asking why bus drivers should pay for education when his colleagues just spent £20,000 of tax payers money hanging paintings in their offices. Clare Solomon did a great job.

  • ha ha - "i know my cleaner, she is doing a cracking job"!!! Classic Tory arrogance.

Clare Solomon is brilliant and totally destroys roger Gale.

And Jeremy Vine is ridiculous - Clare tries to show how university education can be funded easily through proper harvesting of due taxes and he just gets confused. It's like he doesn't think these things are linked.

  • Roger Gale know's his cleaner VERY WELL and she does a SMASHING JOB!!!! I think that says it all doesn't it. I agree totally with Clare Solomon, and I feel proud of the Students defending the right of free education for all. I agree that the people who voted for a war that has killed around a million people are angry at a WINDOW. CLARE you're doing a great job KEEP IT UP !!!!!!!

  • Absolutely brilliant interview. The best explanation and justification of Wednesday's demonstrations yet. Well done!

  • Roger Gale has a cheek to talk about low wages when the Tories are planning to force people to work for NO WAGES

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know what is "norgorelli's" problem; Clare Solomon does a fantastic & accurate job in this debate. And the conservative boobs including the media personality would have been a challenge for anyone to get a reasoned perspective across about what is going on.

  • @lyndoalthage my problem is that the protests and direct action must be accompanied by a clear articulation of is what is seen to be the problem. Her arguments are disparate and her tone petulant. If she broke into the building then why doens't she just say so? Or if not, ditto. Why dance around the subject like a politician? There is so much to all this, and she never gets round to saying it. She's doing more harm than good.

  • Don't get me wrong...I support the protests. But Clare Solomon is not the best person to be doing this. There are many powerful and coherent arguments which can be made against the cuts to university funding and in favour of protests. Yet she can hardly string a sentence together. She's doing more harm than good.

  • The bloke interviewing her is a serious dick

  • Clare made many valid points, but she does seem to have a bit of difficulty with staying on the topic at hand.

  • She is the boss!

she wooped that guys backside. Love it!

  • I think that was pwnage on Clare's part :)
