  • Viren was a monster.

  • viren - blood doper - before anyone really understood the meaning.... now a local politician in Finland and the first famous Finn I name when I meet one...

  • @bondsmanful What a DUMBASS. The ONLY common knowledge was the spewed rhetoric from disgruntled Pre fans that got he ass fucking KICKED by THREE people in the final 180M.

  • VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN! VirEN!

  • this was basically a 1500m, and it amazes me that NOONE in that field could touch a 10,000m... marathoner even!, and his kick. the guy was incredible.

  • Why do you write about Pre? He never won an olympic medal and there are thousands of runners such as him.

  • @poo72 You are ignorant? In his time Pre was the crème de la crème. Today he would be sub 13:00 5k runner. Talent is Talent unlike today nobody wanted to attempt 13:00 minute pace with him.

  • @iMaDeMoN2012 Ok, if Pre was the creme de la creme, what were Viren, Gammoudi, and Stewart?

  • @VirenKickedPresAss How old are you? Do you understand what crème de la crème means? It's not a singular position, their all included. They each had the top ten performances in 5k and 3mile at the time. But you are a troll with only one purpose, so I won't respond to you any further.

  • @iMaDeMoN2012 As I asked before DUMBASS, then what were Viren, Gammoudi, and Stewart?

  • Prefontaine ? What about Miel Puttemans ?

He ran a world record the same year (1972).

  • @4807avh Puttemans was ANOTHER stud. Always consistant, always there, and pretty much always a medalist.

  • Well, if you had read my post, you would have understood my point - that an earlier Olympics, as was the case in '76, would have favored Pre. As it is, Viren simply looked like a chickenshit in '75, for backing out of racing him ...

  • @niv06290 Well, if "ifs and butts" were Olympic medals, Pre would have one, wouldn't he? It looks like Pre's fans need a bag for their shoes, a bag for their uniform, and a bag for all of the excuses they bring...

  • @niv06290 Oh, and I guess it is a shame, that for Pre's sake, they didn't move the entire Olympics ahead one year, just for him. Darn those other medalists who had the audacity of actually preparing for the games when they were scheduled!

  • @VirenKickedPresAss Sammy's not going to winning any more medals either because he's dead! Death is not an excuse!

Pre was a wire to wire guy, like Bekele, in fast meet he would set world records.

  • @iMaDeMoN2012 Ok, so out of all the previous wire to wire races, how many world records did Pre set?

  • Well, not as if ignorami like Viren Kicked and Shifter would care, but the '76 Olympics were held much earlier in the year than the '72 games - in fact, the 5,000 final was a full six weeks earlier. Pre ran an American record 13:22.8 in July of 72, and reset that record in late June of '74 with a 13:21.9. Clearly, an earlier Games would have favored Pre. Viren was so afraid of facing Pre early in the year that he chickened out of running against him in what turned out to be Pre's last race ..

  • @niv06290 Yeah, that darned ol' Viren. Concentrated on winning a medal. So did Quax and Hildebrandt. What were they thinking? They could have been bragging about a dual meet in some unimportant track meet somewhere else instead of peaking for those silly ol' Olympic games. Too bad they weren't like Pre, and then they could have had 4th place medals as well. tsk, tsk. I am sure they would trade places with Pre any old day. LMAO!

  • @niv06290 EXACTLY.

Viren ran faster times and Viren was a better tactician (so was Yifter, but more proven in Moscow than here in Munich).

  • So true. Pre was an inspiration, but Viren would have been all over him again- along with Quax, DIxon, and Hildebrandt- in Montreal.

  • haha he's the best!

  • Ok..I guess you mean Viren is the best.

  • He would have got his ass kicked by 4 people in 76. they were all WAY faster then Pre in Montreal.

  • @VirenKickedPresAss Well, no, actually. Pre's best was still far ahead of Viren's winning time in '76. What's more, the '76 5,000 finish was incredibly close - clearly the benefit that Viren gained from doping was wearing off, and the world was catching him. Pre would have won both the 5K and 10K in '76 - most likely setting a WR in the 10K.

  • @niv06290 He would have been destroyed by Quax, Dixon, and Hildebrandt in the final 200, so how could he have beaten Viren? He would have been 5th at best.

  • @niv06290 Well no,ACTUALLY, If PR's were the most important consideration, Bedford and Clark would have gold, wouldn't they? How many WR's did Pre have, compared to Viren? Show us your proof, not HERESAY, with Viren Doping. No one has showed proof yet, but maybe you have info the rest of the world hasn't. Again, PROOF, not heresay. You know, there were allegations against Pre and Shorter, as well.

  • i agree

  • Go Lasse! We know that you are the best! Finland is proud of you!

  • Katsokaapa huviksenne Prefontainen taktiikkaa vikakiepillä. Mitali meni?
