I heard this music used during a Sony Pictures closing logo at the end of a show on a classic television network. It was probably a show that Colex used to own the rights to, but I found it interesting that they bothered to update the closing logo, yet kept the music.
@Brundall525 both companies now work on x factor usa. Sony advertises the show and is creating the music album for the winner, while Fremantle is the creator of the show. They once worked on idol with sony doing music rights until Vivendi's Universal Music Group inked a new contrant with Fremantle for this year.
"Colex" was a joint distribution company created by Lexington Broadcast Services and Columbia Pictures Television in the '80s; they redistributed several "Screen Gems" series {"HAZEL", "FATHER KNOWS BEST", "GIDGET", "THE MONKEES", etc.} to local stations on a "barter" basis; in exchange for carrying two minutes of national advertising per episode, Colex gave those shows to the stations free of charge, allowing them to sell the remaining four minutes of ad time to "local" advertisers.
Colex is Columbia and LBS

I'm a closing logo fan as are a lot of people, but I'm afraid this is probably my least favorite logo.
