Love all the Anti David Knopfler comments. Dire Straits were a rock and roll band until he left and they lost their rhythm. Dire Straits had only 1 decent album after he left. As much as I like Mark, his last 2 solo albums have been a snoozefest. David is an exceptionally talented musician and songwriter, so get the poles out of your rear ends and pay some credit where its due.

No they are not! Mark ripped David off from Royalties from when David played in Dire Straits, Anna David's wife wrote on David's Web site a few years of this fact.

I used to like Mark's music much more than David's, but lately I've been listening a bit to David, and I feel I've changed. In my opinion, David gives much more of himself, more personal, and there's more "energy" in his music. Mark has become incredibly dull over the years, despite his great talent and access to the very best musicians and facilities. I also used to think that having a signature guitar voice, like Mark, is a great advantage, but I think that it also can be too recognizable and

actually take attention from the song. Listening to David, it's kind of refreshing not to hear those trademark licks all over the place.

I also feel very sorry for David that whenever he gets interviewed, the interviewer has to bring up Dire Straits. "So David, what really happened?" Man, it's about 30 years ago! What a shame that 2-3 years of your life has to be more important than the rest of it.

Almost each You-Tube video with David is followed by comments wich include comparing David's creation and Mark's creation,why? what use it has ? And there isn't any such comparing under videos with Mark. I hurt for David, it seems to me he is tired and sick this ever-present comparing. Sorry for my English.

"Mark no longer needed the band to be a democracy" .. that says a lot. I have also heard MK say DK did not handle touring very well. All in all I think DK wanted more input or suggested ideas that MK did not agree with. As it stood MK was the voice, face and sound of DS he had the power.. DK knew MK no longer had to democratically collaborate so he chose to leave rather than keeping his mouth shut about musical ideas he disagreed with. It is sad they have not reconciled their differences.

We are just watching what everyone else has to say about Mark and David. They're both very talented. David is a beautiful man with an enormous talent...Mark is exceptional. Both have tons of talent. They need to make peace..it's not a competition. How sad they must compete and not make peace.

It's almost as if Sky News is trying to get the viewers to think that David was the frontman of the group with all the footage of Mark they keep playing. Kinda like... "Well, we could get MK to come on the show, so we'll get DK and try to fool everyone."

sad they dont play together, but i can understand it, its not easy work with your family, like family companys, not many like have parents ther bosses.

And be in a super band with your brother travling 300 days a year on a tour, will give you probs for sure, but looks like the young brothers in AC/DC can do it when they on tour, but not all can.

Yeah great interview - very honest. It would be nice to think they could work out their differences. I'm sure they've both mellowed a bit over the years. Check out Davids album Ship of Dreams. Simply brilliant.
