Ok, so if the guy does 600 with shit form like this, I'd wager he could still do around 540 or something with a pause and good form, which is more than anyone who's ever commented on this video can likely squat.
ya he bounced it. so what? If any single one of you tried the same thing you would probably be dead right now or best case have a crushed sternum because the weight would just collapse on your chest after picking it up (if you could even do that). Point being, don't hate when you can't even come close to doing something. Nothing pisses me off more than e-lifters who bench like 135 critiquing people. Bounce or not, this guy is still stronger than any of you will ever hope to be.
What you people aren't considering is that this guy isn't training for powerlifting, and he also isn't and hasn't ever been a competitive powerlifter. He's working out for a power motion. Some people can handle a heavy bounce, and people like heavyweight fighters, shot putters, and other explosive athletes do this more often than not. It's an explosive style of lifting, be it correct or not, it's super effective in creating explosion in fighters/throws/football players etc. etc.
@Ilicet51 Could you cite a source for Tank admitting it's fake? I hear so many people say this, but all anyone can say is "it was in some interview..." or "was on a DVD commentary...". Would be nice to settle this once and for all.
@Ilicet51 I'm not saying that you're lying but Tank Abbot wasn't called TANK for the hell of it. His real name is David Abbot. Tank is his nickname because he's unbelievably strong. If you can source/cite where he said that this particular video was fake, I would love to see it. As far as I know, and as far as I've ever seen from this man, this video is more than easily believable.
bounce makes it easy , it must go down pause at the bottom then go up in one smooth movement , bouncing is cheating those are the rules to benching no argument
it dont matter if he bounced it thats crazy how strong he is.... this comes back to my point, benching that much does nothing for you.. once you get that heavy you get heavy muscle that needs lots of oxygen.. not good for fighting
i wouldn't let a spoter like that hand me 300 pounds, let alone 600... ...he was pretty much useless there... ...otherwise this was a rarely seen technique... ...the little jump at the beginning was probably the weardest thing about it... ...bouncing is ok i guess if you do it just for fun and not for a competition - it actually works a little bit like a shirt, helping you when the bar is down...
@ExitWoundz1 ...of course you do bounce... ...without bouncing/using the momentum at all - stop - hold - go - you will destroy your shoulders that much sooner... ...and grammar/spelling/typo nazi...!!!
@TheYouwontgetit Explain why you bounce the bar... and no. It doesn't work like that. You obviously don't know what your sternum is, where it's located, etc... bouncing it wrecks it.... You can TOUCH the bar on your chest, but you don't bounce it like your chest is a trampoline.. And using the momentum is cheating. Most people that workout do reps slow so they don't be a little pussy, and use momentum. If you watch the world record for bench, I guarantee he doesn't bounce it..
@ExitWoundz1 ...i believe i did that already... ...also i would disagree with the last part... ...it depends what federation they are competeing in... ...as far as i know only in ipf you have to hold it down and thus do not bounce/use the momentum at all - and i know a few guys who compete in this federation and they do not train like that because again it would destroy their shoulders - they do it like that only about 3 weeks before the competition...
@TheYouwontgetit Fuck off, don't reply, you have obviously never lifted weighgts in your life. How do you squat? Do you use momentum for that too? Have fun walking.
@TheYouwontgetit I'll chill out, even though I'm not even raging, when you stop being a moron. =) Explain to me how YOU squat, or I honestly don't give a shit about what else you have to say.

@TheYouwontgetit I know how to squat dipshit, thanks. I was just curious if you knew how, because you'd prob say something like you bounce the weight for squatting as well, even though you aren't supposed to. You wanna fuck up your knees, bounce the weight, because YOU'RE USING MOMENTUM, AND IF YOU DON'T, YOU'LL FUCK UP YOUR HIPS.... or some stupid shit along those lines. Retard, learn how to do certain exercises, or stfu. Tell me why it's good to bounce 600 pounds on your chest? Not very smart
@TheYouwontgetit Lol. Someone tells you something that makes sense, and then you stfu. Ty for realizing that you're a dumbass. Read all of the other comments.. if bouncing is supposed to be done, how come 99% of the people commenting say "DONT BOUNCE" and shit like that. Blocked.
If you look at the vid closely enough, you'll see he didn't bounce it off of his chest. He drove it up as it touched his chest. This lift is pure power. Pure strength.

Well said TheFrank88... Its easy for ppl 2 judge.. i even fot yeah he bounced it a bit but ffs man i wouldnt have the balls never mind strength 2 give that a try.. Respect when due!

@hatemeplease15, I disagree with "bodybuilding and powerlifting.... youll find out they are the same ". The different goals make the workout significantly different.
@hatemeplease15 finaly somebody who doesn't believe the myth that bodybuilders aren't that strong. Idk who started that myth. Bodybuilders are like powerlifters without the fat. They still bench 600 and squat 800+ ronnie coleman has a video leg pressing 2300 lbs. And one deadlifting 800
@rehsa2194 THANK YOU!... off season for bodybuilders IS POWERLIFTING!!.. 6 weeks away we change it up... powerlifters stay heavy. bodybuilders go light... i mean come on look at johnnie jackson.. he went from powerlifting to bodybuilding and does the sammmmee thing
@hatemeplease15 No, it isn't. Their offseason is bodybuilding. They bulk during the offseason, which almost always results in them training in the hypertrophy rep range, because that's where you build the most mass. Powerlifters always train in the strength rep range.
@rehsa2194 Lol, no. Bodybuilders are not like powerlifters without the fat. They are significantly weaker despite being bigger. There are a few exceptions, like Ronnie, Jackson, and Dorian, but they are mostly weak by powerlifting standards. There are also powerlifters who can compete in bodybuilding despite never training for hypertrophy, like Matt Kroc and Stan Efferding. They are weaker because they train in the hypertrophy rep range, which builds mass but not a lot of strength.
@TheBukkakeTsunami at first i thought you claim matt and stan are weak, missread it but im pretty sure stan being an IFBB trains for hyperthropy to same as matt krcok from time to time
@TheBukkakeTsunami ok, so they might not be as strong as some super strength powerlifters who are just even more powerfull lifters. But just because they are a little weaker than the worlds strongest men doesn't remove the powerlifter status in my book. I dont kno about you, but to me benching anything over 500 and squating anything over 600-700 makes you a powerlifter. To move that much weight takes power, the average man cant do it.
@rehsa2194 If you compete in the sport of powerlifting..Thats what makes you a powerlifter. No matter what insane amount, or what little amount you lift.
He may bounce it to a moderate extent, but at least he doesn't press with a five inch range of motion like most powerlifters when they press this kind of weight.
Tank certainly is powerful...in fact he's way more powerful than what he really looks like he could do. He presents the appearance of someone who would be very lucky to put up 365...but 600? Wow. And this is all without 15 bench-shirts on...no elbow wraps...no two by four's on the chest...no duct-tape...in fact, none of the ridicilous gimicks that today's "pro's" use at all. I'm willing to overlook the "bounce" on this one because this lift is about as raw as they get. Continueous motion too.
@MrSchultzstaffel i appreciate it because he is NOT a power lifter he is a mixed martial artist. infact i see worse form from most mixed martial artists world wide. 600 is amazing period.
@Dubzasterz Hey, you got that right! When I see someone criticize an obviously authentic lift by someone else, (even though it wasn't exactly perfect technique,) I tend to wonder what's their problem. With just a little research, it's not hard to determine that their about 150 pounds soaking wet and they don't even have so much as a couple of years of foundational lifting to claim as personal experience themselves. I've been traingin hard-core for more than 20 years and I can't do 600 pounds!

@alicongo omg u stupid mother fucker what the hell!!! did u not watch this video??? he obvioulsy didnt pause at the chest so wtf do u call that??????? and guess what? 600lbs aint shit to a real "big bencher" and that kinda bouncing shit sure as fuck dont fly in a real comp. so please educate urself before u look even stupider than u already do. Thanks :D
@rlystupidcomments its so clearly a bounce. cuz u either boucne it or u pause and that sure as hell was no pause. and yeah itd break ur sternum if u just did it with out ever training for it. Im sure after years of boucning heavy weight off his chest, it became stronger somehow, but that really was a bouce. not a drop but indeed a bounce
All of you retards talking shit should try to "bounce" 600 pounds of your stomach. I bet nobody of you can even bench half of this weight. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Go in the gym and try to get over 200 lbs in bench, instead of talking bullshit you weak pencil-necked morons.
@ThaFrank88 Well i can bench 200 lbs in bench and him "bouncing" 600 lbs doesnt mean its his o.r.m. (one-rep max) he can probably get 575. They just hate seeing people constantly saying they can do this much weight and then they bounce it, or have their butt off the bench, etc. ("Cheat lifts") Because i hate them to.
@Monopoly2345 Oh, no! 200lbs?! Athlete's don't lift strict lifts. They lift for a movement. It's all about making something happen. Watch Christian Cantwell bench, try and critique him. He's one of the best shotputters in the entire world. He lifts for a movement, for athleticism, not for strict pressing bodybuilding. If you can step in the ring with this man, then, and ONLY THEN, can you critique him.
@hukanoobi32 No, real athletes lift as strictly as possible to minimize joint/tendon issues. Any athlete not lifting strictly does not take his sport seriously.
As well, ANYONE can critique ANYTHING, whenever they want, there is no performance requirements for being a critic.
STEROIDS. No rewards, no acheivements, nothing! ENANTHATE, DIANABOL, GLYCOLYCIS, OXIDATIVE PHOSPHORYLATION, ESTROGEN BLOCKERS! Do you call these people "champs"? Most body builders use -- >> SO MANY << -- DRUGS to get into the shape and get those body they have that it actually promotes HEART ATTACKS, EARLY DEATHS and such! Most body builders die young from such extreme lifestyles! ARTIFICIAL GROWTH HORMONES, CORTISOL, ANDROGENS, EVERYTHING!
he doesnt look that strong to me, looks like the fatboy rednecks you see everyday in my town

@hatemeplease15, I disagree with "bodybuilding and powerlifting.... youll find out they are the same ". The different goals make the workout significantly different.
LloydChristmas777 in reply to hatemeplease15 (Show the comment) 6 months ago
@hatemeplease15 finaly somebody who doesn't believe the myth that bodybuilders aren't that strong. Idk who started that myth. Bodybuilders are like powerlifters without the fat. They still bench 600 and squat 800+ ronnie coleman has a video leg pressing 2300 lbs. And one deadlifting 800
rehsa2194 in reply to hatemeplease15 (Show the comment) 6 months ago
@rehsa2194 THANK YOU!... off season for bodybuilders IS POWERLIFTING!!.. 6 weeks away we change it up... powerlifters stay heavy. bodybuilders go light... i mean come on look at johnnie jackson.. he went from powerlifting to bodybuilding and does the sammmmee thing
hatemeplease15 in reply to rehsa2194 (Show the comment) 6 months ago

TheBukkakeTsunami in reply to rehsa2194 (Show the comment) 6 months ago
@TheBukkakeTsunami at first i thought you claim matt and stan are weak, missread it but im pretty sure stan being an IFBB trains for hyperthropy to same as matt krcok from time to time
muzimuzi in reply to TheBukkakeTsunami (Show the comment) 6 months ago
@TheBukkakeTsunami ok, so they might not be as strong as some super strength powerlifters who are just even more powerfull lifters. But just because they are a little weaker than the worlds strongest men doesn't remove the powerlifter status in my book. I dont kno about you, but to me benching anything over 500 and squating anything over 600-700 makes you a powerlifter. To move that much weight takes power, the average man cant do it.
rehsa2194 in reply to TheBukkakeTsunami (Show the comment) 5 months ago
@rehsa2194 If you compete in the sport of powerlifting..Thats what makes you a powerlifter. No matter what insane amount, or what little amount you lift.
MattM233 in reply to rehsa2194 (Show the comment) 5 months ago
He may bounce it to a moderate extent, but at least he doesn't press with a five inch range of motion like most powerlifters when they press this kind of weight.
AmateurGuitarCovers 6 months ago

MrJervilla in reply to alicongo (Show the comment) 4 months ago
@MrJervilla 600 pounds would of shatter his sternum if he tried to bounce that . That was all strength.
rlystupidcomments in reply to MrJervilla (Show the comment) 4 months ago

ThaFrank88 6 months ago 10
@ThaFrank88 Well i can bench 200 lbs in bench and him "bouncing" 600 lbs doesnt mean its his o.r.m. (one-rep max) he can probably get 575. They just hate seeing people constantly saying they can do this much weight and then they bounce it, or have their butt off the bench, etc. ("Cheat lifts") Because i hate them to.
Monopoly2345 in reply to ThaFrank88 (Show the comment) 4 months ago
@Monopoly2345 Oh, no! 200lbs?! Athlete's don't lift strict lifts. They lift for a movement. It's all about making something happen. Watch Christian Cantwell bench, try and critique him. He's one of the best shotputters in the entire world. He lifts for a movement, for athleticism, not for strict pressing bodybuilding. If you can step in the ring with this man, then, and ONLY THEN, can you critique him.
hukanoobi32 in reply to Monopoly2345 (Show the comment) 4 months ago

Find me a REAL NATURAL athlete and I'll be happy.
