Possibly my favorite song in the Mario Galaxy series! (Can't pick between this and The Star Festival from Mario Galaxy 1) so beautiful that it breaks my heart and makes me cry! When I woke up here, I gasped in awe and just watched around, because how magical and mystic this place was. So peaceful and ambiantic.

Then I realised... I was far away from my home.

What if... I will never get out of here? What will come to Peach?

It was sad mix of wonder and melancholy, but strangely enough, I didn't feel any regret or worry. Maybe... I might have stayed in this place forever.

That could've have been the fate. But one play of hide'n seek saved my life.

This piece has a sense of melancholy and sadness to it, sure... but I think it has more of a reflective atmosphere to it. It's like a limbo - you're out there, floating in space, not sure where you're going or in which direction. Occasionally you spot some beautiful sights - far off galaxies, colourful cosmic dust and stars. but you never go near enough to experience them.. form where you are, they're just pretty sights that line your vision as you float gently forwards.

This tune sounds absolutely brilliant when I play it on my Onkyo home theater surround system (using Dolby Pro-Logic II sound). The Wii hardware really nails the subtlety of the sound in this game, and reproduces it with astounding fidelity through all 5 speakers.

When I first played this game, I was very impressed by the vast, mystical atmosphere it had. No Mario game before it had ever felt like this. It was a new, deeper take on the franchise and I loved it. That's why I was rather disappointed in Super Mario Galaxy 2, it lost all the magic and charm that Super Mario Galaxy had. I think this is one of the best themes in the game, and it's very proper music for the first planet you ever set foot on.

You are a genius! That is exactly how I feel. When I first played this game, it took me quite a while to beat the first level in the observatory because I was too busy listening to this music and exploring the space ship. It was a completely "otherworldly" cosmic ambiance that I never felt from any Mario Game.

When 2 came out, it felt like previous ones...complete with linear level paths.

This imo, will be seen as a time Nintendo really stepped out of the box.

My Mom babysits and one of the kids likes to play this Game, he's four and a half years old and always smiles and giggles when he's listening to this song, he also loves the bunnies and he gets very excited all the time when he sees them.

@PaperMario15 If that was true, I wouldn't have ever said SMG2 and SMG were one of the best Mario-games done, hands down.

SMG2 made me feel like I was taken away by gravityand thrown into one of the most imaginative worlds possible. and even if it didn't have much story, the gameplay set me alredy in.

SMG2, from my experience, had that magic like SMG had. I think you all who cleared the first one were so used to it, that ya couldn't "feel" it much in SMG2.
