@tc41986 new york city doesnt have what exactly? chicagos subway system is no where near as massive as nyc. nyc accounts of 40 percent of transportation ridership in this whole country. In other words new york city would look retarded and noisey as hell if its massive subway system in Manhattan was elevated.. Plain and simple.

@coolshorty360 There were elevated subways at one time in Manhattan. Over Third,Sixth and Ninth Avenues. The 1 train is elevated over Broadway at 125 Street and the outer boroughs still have els.

The last time I checked NYC wasn't a utopian free spirited, open-minded city the last time I checked. In NYC rich stay with rich and poor stay with poor. There is NO middle class in Manhattan. the cta drivers are dicks when it comes to cameras one bus driver didnt let me off the bus till someone went up and told him he was calling the police if he didnt stop at the next bus stop to let me off i was supposed to get off 3 miles ago
