The law of attraction isn't based on rejecting your faith. It's about increasing your faith and allowing your faith to manifest. I'm not a Christian myself. However, I think you shouldn't doubt the things you want in this life. If you believe God gives you everything you need, then focus on that with great gratitude.

The teaching of the Secret, if it was true, hurts your possibility of attaining your eternal salvation. This heresy is like the prosperity gospel. God does not promise to give that which can be of no good to you.

The 'Law of Attraction', isn't a theory, or even Law, some people dreamed it up around 1910. What's described by LOA has no basis in any scientific discipline. It piggybacks on optimism, planning and motivation, it all sounds lovely, but it's not real. If it were true, wouldn't everyone be millionaires already?

It is true that if you observe a subject you influence the subject that you observe BUT because that is only one variable in an ocean of an unlimited amount of variables that determines the state of the subject it becomes mathematically impossible to design a specific outcome making the law of attraction false by definition.

I have developed a theory....the law of attraction points out that like attracts like and the more you think about what you want, the more likely you will get it. However, when i prepare for exams i always get in the mindset that i will fail and i keep telling myself that i will fail just so i am not dissappointed by my possible grade. However I study and end up getting good results. HENCE it might be that opposites attract. dont hate on this....its just a thought

I do believe the law of attraction. In senior year at high school I was obsessed with the Z32 Nissan 300zx cars. Every day I would go home and find myself on used car sale sites fantasizing of owning one. I didn't have much money to spend and I had no where near the price of a good condition one. About a year later of searching I came across one with only 92,000 kilometers selling for for 4 thousand dollars cause he was moving. I ended up getting the car for 2500! now I own a beautiful 300 ZX!

All it creates are crowds of unfortunate people, who not only steer themselves away from realistic solutions to their problems, but who actively silence themselves with regards to how ineffective mere 'positive thinking' is. Good or bad, what you choose to have is completely up to you. I am really thankful I live now, where science was able to confirm the correlation between our mind and body. @RGBRYN Are you sure? Doesn't the Bible say, "Ask, Believe, And Receive"? Matthew 21:22 says "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." The law of attraction isn't based on rejecting your faith. It's about increasing your faith and allowing your faith to manifest. I'm not a Christian myself. However, I think you shouldn't doubt the things you want in this life. If you believe God gives you everything you need, then focus on that with great gratitude.

i am from slovakia.my first language is hungarian:)i was 18 when i came dream.
1st.. i really wanted to get out from my country and work some where next to see.

2nd i allways wanted to have a forien girl or wife:)-i am married whit a french canadian girl!!!! we live in uk now and moving to Quebec next Year

@latenightlogic I don't know whether this is really the action of thoughts vibrating through the universe... I can't think of a way to measure that... or if it's just psychology. But if it works, why not use it? From what I've seen, it does work... to a certain extent!

Science predicts claims based on observations, tests hypotheses to see if they're real, these tests then substantiate theories. The 'Law of Attraction', isn't a theory, or even Law, some people dreamed it up around 1910. What's described by LOA has no basis in any scientific discipline. It piggybacks on optimism, planning and motivation, it all sounds lovely, but it's not real. If it were true, wouldn't everyone be millionaires already?

@LauraPuffyCloud In the first sentence you have hit the nail on the head and it can be scientifically explained: anthropologically and psychologically, these 2 scientific disciplines help us to understand human behaviour, and the mind.
The LOA says "Thoughts become things": say you were attacked while out walking some day, the LOA says it's your fault, because the universe picked up on your fear of being assaulted, and made it come true. This is just one of many fraudulent claims LOA makes.

If you learned about it in the 'Secret', I would suggest one exercise that will be of great benefit to you.
Look at the book/film critically, ask yourself: "Does this actually sound like it's reality?"
LOA is false, there's no cosmic mind vibrations, and the universe isn't waiting to give you what you want.
Even worse, it blames people for their own misfortunes, if you got cancer, the LOA says it's your fault, because you sent that vibe out.

a little lesson in quantum mechanics.
It is true that if you observe a subject you influence the subject that you observe BUT because that is only one variable in an ocean of an unlimited amount of variables that determines the state of the subject it becomes mathematically impossible to design a specific outcome making the law of attraction false by definition.
