  • I redid the whole process and took out the trackpad...then put it back on and it works! Thanks for your time, hopefully this will be my last post:)

  • It is clicking down...I can feel it and hear it.

  • @djick31 The circuitry under the trackpad is what will control the clicks. This is leading me to believe there is either something wrong with the trackpad itself, or the connection. May want to examine the trackpad and see if there is any damage like a rip in the flex, etc. If it does not function after reseating the connection, I would suggest replacing it. Replacements are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • I want to add to my previous comment...while not having a screw driver small enough to screw in the two screws on the green plate, I used this random screwdriver I found which didn't twist it all the way. After getting to the red plate, where I would screw in the 4 other screws, I couldn't fit the bottom left/ top right screw in. Could this be a reason why the joystick isn't working? Thank you so much!

  • @djick31 Sounds unlikely to be the cause. Does it click down at all - can you hear it clicking? Or does it feel like it is already being pressed in?

  • Repairs universe I have just come among another problem, I was using my camera on my incredible and I can't click the optical joystick...it works when sliding through pages but not when clicking it, any idea on why this could be?

  • Nevermind I got it! Thank you guys so much!

  • @djick31 Great work. No problem at all!

  • I cracked my phone and I replaced it with your replacement screen, although after I had finished and turned the phone on, it had a warm yellow tint to the screen, and I can't stand it! Any ideas on what went wrong? Thank you!

  • I cracked my phone, and some of the outer glass you touch is missing, scratching the layer underneath. Will the screen underneath still work after i have replaced the outer layer?

  • @thecopster100 The layer under the glass touch screen is the LCD screen. It will function fine (even with the scratches) once the touch screen is replaced.

  • @RepairsUniverse Thanks! going to order my new screen soon and get my phone fixed

  • @thecopster100 No problem. Let us know if you have any further questions.

  • On your website, what is the difference between the "HTC Incredible Droid Glass Touch Screen Digitizer With Front Housing" and the "HTC Incredible Droid Glass Touch Screen Digitizer Replacement" It looks like the same picture. My screen is cracked similar to the on in this video so which one would I need?

  • @happypills111 Either will work. The "Touch Screen Digitizer with Front Housing" just eliminates the step of heating the old screen, reusing the old front housing, and applying new adhesive. It is a much simpler swap. The regular touch screen is just the glass and digitizer.

  • the video is great this is the second time I replaced the screen in my HTC incredible phone I order the screen from and it went great both times but this time I also ordered a screen for aIpod touch 2nd generation and thought I should have gotten 2 safe removing tools 1 for each, but I only got 1 and when taking apart the Ipod it broke the Ipod was tough, so for the phone I had to use not so safe tools but I got it to work thank you

  • @10Mrcharlie Glad to hear you got it to work out. If you would like, feel free to contact us directly and we can resolve the pry tool issue without a problem.

  • Can you tell me what I do with the ribbon that comes from the track pad? Should I pull it off? If so, how do I re-assemble it?

Thanks in advance! Hope I'm able to pull this off :)

  • @MerryBluesArt In order to fully disassemble the phone, yes, we suggest removing the trackpad. The flex cable is held in place by a jawbone connector. this is shown around 1:40 in the video. To re-assemble, you will simply need to open the connector, feed the cable into place and then lock it in place by latching down the jaw.

  • @RepairsUniverse awesome. I'll be trying it soon. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & offering it gratis for the world @ large.

  • @MerryBluesArt No problem at all! Let us know if you run into any issues or have any more questions.

  • I just fixed my screen.. Thanks for the help..

  • @EkchoWil Great work! No problem at all.

  • Is it the same for a rezound?

  • @sugerbumkin I believe the basic process is similar, however we have not had a chance to tear one apart yet to confirm.

  • Question, swapped out the glass and housing, went great!!! However the small Keypad flex ribbon cable. (this is the part as described on your website) broke. Once again however, I put the rest of the phone back together and can not seem to find anything NOT working. What exactly does this cable do, and do I need to replace it/order it from you guys. What a great and simple experience this has been so far.

Thanks for all you do. Brian O'Connor

  • @oc1073 This controls the LED lighting behind the keypad buttons. Sometimes it can effect touch sensitivity, but if this is not your case, run with it! It can be a pain in the dark to navigate without these LED's, but if it is no big issue for you, no reason to tear it apart again.

We are very happy the rest of the repair went smoothly for you.

  • why is clive owen repairing cell phone screens?

  • Great job. As mentioned above, the small transfer ribbon as well as the ear piece speaker need to be swapped when doing a screen that has the housing assembly attatched. I recommend to all to buy the screen with the housing. Worked great for me. Thanks!

  • @Morgan30233 Great advice, thank you. The housing pre attached makes the repair much simpler and can give the screen a much cleaner look if you have little experience repairing these devices. Great job with your repair!

  • ……that i think should of bean there.

    1. mention the transfer of the function button ribbon(all you got to do is unstick it from the old one and stick on the new one / very simple)

    2. DONT FORGET THE INTERNAL SPEAKER, its on the old assembly, just pick it up and stick it on the new one (i only mention this because i forgot all about it and put the phone back together and dint know why it wasn't working...)

other than than Awsome video, it helped me out a lot...

  • @chale643 Thank you for the additions. Yes if replacing the assembly you will need to transfer the ear speaker and keypad flex cable. Both very simple swaps. As for replacing the screen only, we have videos on how to apply new adhesive and seat a new screen, this is available in our channel under the name "Touch Screen Assembly Guide".

We are glad you found the video useful!

  • so this video was awesome i never done something like this and it helped out a lot, but i think it was a little incomplete, wether i was replacing the whole screen assembly or just the actual screen thats stuck to the assembly if Im replacing only the screen i feel that i should be showed the best way to unstick the old screen to stick the new screen assembly.(witch wasn't the case with me) in my case i had bought a whole screen assembly and there were two steps…...

  • I just Replaced my Screen and it works all the buttons and functions, but i have No service i tried a factory restore and still doesnt work. I am thinking i did something with the hardware on the phone but cant find anything on fourms. Got any ideas what i can do to fix it?

  • @333ilike3 Sounds very possible to be a hardware issue. I would suggest disassembling to the motherboard. From there, check the front and back of the MB for either damage, loose connection, etc. When reassembling, be sure all connection go in fully. Possible you will find the issue, or resolve the issue doing this.

  • Where can I get the replacement screen that will actually work ?

  • @jlnortz Both replacement LCD types are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Hi. I just replaced my crack screen. and I hear the phone turning on and everything but no picture on my screen?

  • @23baybeedoll Was the touch screen only replaced? Normally a blank screen is caused by a bad connection or a damaged screen (or ripped flex cable). I would double check the connection from the LCD screen to the motherboard.

  • I need your help. My dad just did this with his phone, but, the new lcd screen he put on isn't lighting up. it's brand new, and you hear the phone turn on. any advice?

  • @ashhhhhee I would suggest making sure the correct LCD version (the flex cables on the back of the LCD screen will be different) is correct. I would then also suggest making sure the LCD's flex cable is fully in place to the motherboards connector. If that appears to be correct, contact the seller of the part directly for more troubleshooting info. Good luck!

  • @RepairsUniverse Thank you, kind sir. Lol

  • @ashhhhhee No problem at all. Let us know if you guys have any other questions.

  • My phone got wet and it has been 4 days....I am able to preform many of the same functions but the screen does not display anything.....what should I do? I would appreciate the advice

  • @2N3RDy Water damage is tricky, but sounds likely that only the LCD was damaged. If the device turns on, functions, vibrates, chimes, is detected by a computer, etc. then that is a good sign the motherboard is operating correctly. I would suggest a LCD replacement. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @RepairsUniverse Thank you very much....I appreciate your quick reply

  • @2N3RDy No problem at all. Let us know if you run into any difficulties with your repair.

  • i have the droid incredible 2 and have a cracked glass cover. the touch screen still works. All I want to do is replace the glass. How do I do this?

  • @crazydude525 The glass and the touch screen digitizer are fused together, so replacing the touch screen digitizer will resolve the issue. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Hello, I have a question. Have you ever heard of an Incredible only having a strip down the right side not work? My I, K, M keys do not work. And i've also found that during other apps that part of the screen will not be selected, it just jumps to the right or left of that "column" or section of the screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • @AspiretoShred Sounds like a dead line in the touch screen digitizer. It is possible (but unlikely) that it is just a connection issue, however we would suggest checking this first. If the touch screen digitizer's flex cable and connection seem secure, without damage, then replacing this would be suggested. Replacement screens are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • It was a major pain in the... butt I did it!! The navigator ribbon break VERY easily and there is black gooey adhesive ALL over between the glass and the housing but after an hour and a half and checking several online sources to learn from others frustrations I did it and everything works. Nav button replacement was an extra $15. Plus the $14 foir the digitizer. Sure beats buying a new phone :) MUST BE PATIENT!!

  • @TravellinMan327 Great work. Yes, the lower flex cable is very fragile and requires extreme care when swapping. Patients is key to repair devices such as the Incredible.

  • What do you do if one of the four original screws is stripped?

  • @12345Joeable If you can't remove with the correct screwdriver you can use a screw extractor.

  • @RepairsUniverse Alright thanks

  • @RepairsUniverse Alright thanks. By the way thanks for the video, it saved me from completely getting a new phone. It only cost me $40 to replace my screen!

  • @12345Joeable No problem. Glad we could help!

  • Hey, i broke my screen earlier and replaced it. I put it back together and when i tried to turn it back on there was no image, like nothing showed up but i know the phone is on because it makes the droid sounds when it starts up. Any ideas?

  • @petetheyeti Likely just the LCD flex cable is not fully connected into the motherboard. This would be the first place to look. Also check to be sure no damaged has occurred to the flex ribbon cable itself (rips).

  • @RepairsUniverse It looked fine, I pushed it in until i couldn't anymore. And the wire looks fine except for a small dent in the back of it. Could that be the problem?

  • @petetheyeti Indents rarely cause problems unless it deep/big enough to cause the circuitry to break. I would suggest contacting the seller of the screen directly for further troubleshooting and diagnosing of the issue.

  • @petetheyeti I just replaced my screen a few minutes ago and this same thing happened to me. Upon further investigation i found that I had actually broken off the top part of the jaw connector. Initially, I was terrified but then noticed I hadn't actually damaged or bent any of the pins. I very carefully slid the ribbon cable into the pins, locked it down, placed the little yellow piece of dielectric tape back over the connector, and bingo, problem solved.

  • @petetheyeti You might be sliding the ribbon cable on top of the pins instead of in between them. I think this is what I did that caused the little plastic sheathing to break.

  • Hi, i dropped my Droid Incredible today, and the entire screen cracked, and the touch screen wont recognize anything. My mom had the exact same phone but it wouldnt work because of water damage, is it possible to swap screens?

  • @KrikeBike As long as the touch screen on the water damaged phone is functional, you should have no issues doing this. You may want to use new adhesive on the screen though, especially if the water damage was severe.

  • i had ordered my screen from anouther company and all i have is the glass front scince that is all that is wrong with mine but your video didnt tell me how to go that far can you help me?

  • @shroom42013 We have another video in our channel for the touch screen removal and replacement. We also have a "Touch Screen Assembly Guide" which is a great help when it comes to applying adhesive and seating the screen.

  • I accidentally broke one of the clip connectors can this be fixed ? Will it work without it ?

    Thanks

  • @Ufos7 Depends on how bad the damage is and if it is a motherboard connector. Normally these can not be repaired (reliably). If it is on the motherboard and the damage is severe, you will need to replace the motherboard itself.

  • Is the LED ribbon removable, because I bought a whole new body, not just the digitizer..and the body didnt come with a LED ribbon...so im wondering if i should order it

  • @schwartzman93 Yes, this can be removed and reused on the assembly. If it is ripped or damaged you will want to replace it however. These can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @RepairsUniverse How do I remove it

  • @schwartzman93 It is just held in place with 3 small pads of adhesive. Use a pry tool to carefully pry it up. Should come out very easily.

  • Thanks for the great & useful video...I recently used it to replace my droid's screen and it worked wonderfully. My only difficulty was unlatching the clip on the right ribbon cable--there was no latch that I could see, and at 2:11 your hand covers that area so I can't see where exactly the safepry tool is.

  • hey my phone just cracked and the screen has changed colors to all black phone can only answer calls because i cant see anything will this resolve my issues?

  • @stasi32 This is damaged to the LCD screen. This will need to be replaced. Be aware that there are 2 different types of LCD screens for the Droid Incredible. Check out RepairsUniverse (dot) com for more information.

  • If the screen glass isn't cracked, but the phone got wet and screen works but there's no image, is it possible to change to whole screen?

  • @MehdiGlz Yes it is very possible to replace only the LCD display screen. You can also replace the touch screen and LCD screen, if that is what you are referring to as "whole screen". Water damage is difficult to diagnose, but if the phone powers on, but there is just no display, an LCD replacement would be your best bet to resolve the issue.

  • I replaced the screen on my Droid incredible last night with your part. Everything is working great but the microphone/in call volume. Media and alarm audio work. Could you tell me what part of the phone the microphone/call audio is in? Could it be as simple as a disconnected ribbon cable? Thanks.

  • @ziggystardust36 Basically, it is the ear speaker that is not functioning correctly? This is likely because of a connection issue. Be sure the contacts on the speaker are fully connecting with the contacts on the flex cable relaying the signal. Check out our speaker replacement video for the Droid Incredible for more information.

  • i have 2 inc one brick the other cracked .. can i just replace the fron part of the bricked one to the cracked one? meaning not having to just remove the glass so i wont have to so deep into the phone ???? thankjs

  • @upstreammiami Yes, you should have no issue swapping out the full front housing with the touch screen attached. This saves you from having to remove the touch screen from the housing. You are still going to need to go deep into the phone, as the touch screen is at the very end of the disassembly process. But saves you a few tedious and time consuming steps.

  • I replaced the screen reassembled everything and now I also have vertical rainbow lines and circles when I turn it on... I've readjusted the cables multiple times and cannot figure out what the problem is. Could I have damaged the LCD screen in any way?

  • @allygatr94 Is the replacement LCD screen the same as the one removed from the Incredible? The most likely causes would be wrong LCD version or damaged LCD. Discoloration and vertical / horizontal are very common display issues caused by damaged screens. Pressure, damaged flex cables, and bad connections can also cause this.

  • Ok.. I have the SLCD now.. it worked for 2 days, no problems.. today the screen has rainbow lines running vertically, the bottom third of the screen is fuzzy/hazy..

I tried reseating the cable a couple of times with no change. Any suggestions?

  • @deborahbaines I would check the LCD flex cable for either rips or damage, or that the connection to the motherboard is fully in place. It is possible to become loose after a bit of use.

  • This directions are perfect. Success on the first try - took about 30 minutes. I have zero experience. Thanks!

  • @hanlon931 Great work, glad the video could help!

  • I followed all the instructions, when I put the phone together and plug it in, the screen flashes white and that's it.. no blinking charge light.. nothing happens when I press power... I've reseated the cables multiple times.. any suggestions?

  • @deborahbaines Yes, the most likely cause is you are using the wrong LCD screen version, IE: your phone requires the AMOLED instead of the SLCD, or vis-versa. There is a guide under the LCD screen for the Droid Incredible at RepairsUniverse (dot) com to determine which LCD screen your Droid requires.

  • @RepairsUniverse I followed that guide when ordering the replacement.. I do NOT have a 3 at the end, so I ordered the Samsung AMOLED.. when I put the old screen back in and plug everything up, the charging light blinks, but the phone will not turn on.. what's the chances the new screen is a dud? lol

  • @deborahbaines Contact us directly. To let it be known, the best way to fully know which LCD screen version you have, is to physically look at the part. We currently do not have rear views of the LCD screen itself on RepairsUniverse (dot) com (I will post these ASAP) The method you used is one of the more reliable ways we have found, although it may not be 100% accurate, which is why we provide the alternate way of distinguishing as well.

  • @RepairsUniverse P/N: 60H00459-01P is my original screen.. google seems to say it's a Sony part # .. what do I use on the back of the original screen to tell which type it is? (there's no mf listed)

    S/N: 2ZVA109A012965

    P/N: 60H00459-01P

    L4F00422P00 036ES

    Z099470071

  • @RepairsUniverse I read that a blinking amber light means the battery is completed drained.. hoping this means there's light at the end of a tunnel when the battery gets some life back!

  • @RepairsUniverse ok.. so got some juice.. and now all I see is a green screen with some lines.. tried adjusting the ribbon cable multiple times.. does this mean I have the right screen? Any help would be appreciated..I've already spent $150 in parts..hate to have to go buy a new phone now!

  • @deborahbaines Difficult to say exactly. Check out RepairsUniverse (dot) com, I have posted rear view of the LCD screens. This should clear up any issues with what LCD version you need. As for what the screen is displaying, it could be because of the wrong version, bad connection, damaged (ripped) flex cable, or possibly even a faulty screen. I would suggest contacting us via the "Contact Us" tab and dropping us a quick email.

  • FYI it was the wrong screen.. even through I followed the instructions and per the "model number" method, I have AMOLED.. I ACTUALLY have SLCD.. so make sure you compare the backs of the screens before you order!

  • @deborahbaines Yes, we suggest physically confirming the screen. The methods we provide are the best we can find at the current moment, using all 3 combined should leave no room for error.

  • Thank you so much!! This was very helpful, my phone is as good as new! :)

  • @kiwiwiwi828 Glad we could help!!

  • I followed your vid to a T. New glass is in, phone turns on, but I'm not getting any reception, anywhere. Could I have done something to the antenna?

  • @BassSpy Yes, sounds likely, I would check the antenna cable and make sure it is fully in place.

  • Hey bud, I need assistance again. While my Droid Incredible was plugged into the charger, I jerked wrong and it got hung up and snatched the cord out of the phone. Now, it wont charge or if it does it will charge for 1 second(literally) and then stop charging for 1 second, and repeat this infinitely. I switched chargers and nothing worked. I have another motherboard that has a working battery terminal hookup, is there any way I can take the broken one off and replace it with the other one?

  • @tarheel3926 I would disassemble and see if you can diagnose the issue. If nothing appears to be wrong, you can attempt to swap the port, however this may require soldering, or extra steps. We have never needed to swap the port, but hardware is hardware and should swap over fine.

  • Fixed my fiances AMOLED LCD. Anyone doing this there are things you should know. SAVE THE CLEAR YELLOW PIECES OF TAPE FROM THE RIBBON CABLES. When you pull off the mobo there is metallic tape on the back of old screen you need to put on the new screen. Under that tape is a clear plastic piece of tape that needs to move too. If the screen is strange colors or has lines, keep trying to reseat the ribbon cable from the screen to the mobo. Check for a sticker on that ribbon cable in the way.

  • @TheComictroll Thanks for the advice / input!

  • Hello I recently bought a new digitizer for my Incredible, I have it on now and my phone will turn on, but the screen only shows either pitch black, or green and white lines. Once while i was messing with it while it was on, I noticed the boot up screen where ots white and says "droid incredible" or something like that came on but it was purple then quickly went away. What can I do to fix this? I have already disassembled and reassembled it multiple times.

  • @JTClaspell Is likely a connection issue or faulty LCD. If the connection is correctly in place and fully set the it is likely the LCD has been damaged during your repair. The LCD screens are incredibly fragile. If you decide to replace the LCD screen, make sure you use the appropriate screen (Samsung or Sony version). Hope this helps. Good luck!

  • With the help of this video I was able to replace the glass digitizer using a Leatherman and a fair bit of patience. Having bought the glass alone I would recommend that it is certainly worth considering the extra money for the entire front housing, much easier and no chance of misplaced adhesive. Thanks for the video

  • @ldahl264 No problem! We agree entirely. The touch screen with front housing is much quicker and easier with less chances of error to install. Thank you for your input! Glad your Droid is back up and running!

  • Any advice for removing the digitizer from the front bezel? The video didn't cover that. Although at this point, the question is purely academic :(

  • @adam2dot0 The touch screen is held to the bezel with adhesive, which you can pry to separate, or use heat to soften the glue a bit. It is quite simple from that point. At RepairsUniverse (dot) com we also have the digitizer pre-attached to the front housing, which makes installation quicker and easier, avoiding all these steps.Hope that helps, good luck!

  • I was taking apart my HTC Incredible to check a wire that was giving me problems. I have experience with repairing laptops so I thought I would have no problem. Being inexperienced with jaw clamps on the ribbon wire that connects to the screen, I accidentally popped the clamp off. Trying to get it to go back on using a small flat tip screwdriver, I messed up and bent/snapped off the some of the small metallic prongs on the board. Is there anyway to fix this or will I need to replace the phone?

  • @tarheel3926 If the connection is not 100% you will either have to replace the motherboard or the phone. Sadly there is no fix for damaged prongs and connection.

  • What do I do... My screen remains black even though the phone is on. I even received a notification so I know it is on. I reviewed each step ensuring I put the phone back together correctly but I'm lost...

  • @giggleprincess125 Sounds like a connection issue, you will have to open your Droid Incredible back up and double check the LCD connection. This is the most likely reason and usually a simple fix. Good luck!

  • I have an Inspire and I dropped it in my drink. I let it dry for two days in rice. The phone will come on but the touch screen won't work. And I can still see kool-aid behind the screen. Any idea how to fix?

  • @daniel4786 You will need a replacement screen to replace the damaged one.

You can find these at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • me and my dad were wondering what other tools can i use and i do i pop out the screen or what else can i use for tools and where can i get these parts for it alsp we dont have a safe pry tool nor a tprque and if i take it apart what i shpuld be careful with the mostb

  • @Gmoney30001 We suggest using the T6 Torx screwdriver, small phillips screwdriver, and a safe open pry tool (or similar). Its unlikely you will get far with disassembly without these tools. You can find replacement parts for the Incredible Droid, as well as all the required tools at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. Be most cautious around the flex cables, these are fairly weak and can snap or be ripped fairly easily. Following this guide closely should get you through a repair no problem. Good Luck!

  • Where do I get the new screen

  • @tabita1995 You can find the HTC Incredible screen replacements at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • Help!!! I changed my screen and it looks great. Everything is working perfectly except when I make a call the person I am calling can't hear me. I can hear them fine though. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

  • @scarver23 Only way to figure it out is to disassemble your Droid again and check for bad connections, ect. We rarely hear of a mic going out on the Incredible when doing a screen change so hopefully it is a simple connection issue. Good luck!

  • @RepairsUniverse Is there any particular connection that I should check first which might cause? Also, I explained the problem wrong in my first message. I can't hear the person I called but they can hear me.

  • @scarver23 Try turning your Droid on speaker phone and seeing if you can hear the other person then. If so, it is likely your earpiece speaker has become faulty or is not properly connected. That would be the best start. We do carry replacement speakers for the Incredible at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. Good luck!

  • How do I know If I cracked the digitizer or the LCD? The front face is not cracked, it looks cracked underneath the glass? Does that mean that it is the LCD?

  • @wq1299 Yes, sounds like you will need to replace your LCD screen. If the LCD screen has been damaged you will usually experience some display issues. Check out RepairsUniverse (dot) com for more info and latest prices of our replacement screen.

  • Replaced a cracked screen and now that the phone is back together the 7,8 and 9 keys on the phone and the lower line of the keyboard (z, x,c v, b, n ,m) don't work. When these keys are touched the key just above them is displayed. Any suggestions?

  • @kframcis00 This is a common connections issue. Double check and make sure the connectors are secure as well as insuring the touch screen is not being obstructed by adhesive or similar.

  • I am not a very techy person. Do u think it would be hard for me to do this? or is it pretty easy? also, how much do the screens cost?

  • @drakejack This is quite and easy install. Nothing too tricky. And its pretty quick to do.

You can find the latest prices on screens at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • My screen crackled :(

  • @Poo597 Sorry to hear that. You will need a replacement. We have these at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • i have one of the first batch of the HTC incredible with the LED screen/cystal i see a ton of LCD replacements does anyone know where i can get the ORIGINAL LED screen my digitizer is fine everything else works. all help would be appreciated.

  • @proxx187 Yes, these are the Samsung AMOLED screens. You can find these at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • @skeltergrave Hi,

Check the connections on the digitizer. It may just be that you haven't installed it back correctly.

  • @andrewevans775 No, its very easy. Simply slide them in place then close the jaw connector again.

  • @andrewevans775 Simply reverse the steps shown in this video.

  • If the touch screen works, but the glass is cracked, do I only need to replace the front housing bezel or do I need to purchase the digitizer with glass housing? How do I separate the top cracked glass from the digitizer if this is at all possible?

  • @klarickfy Hi,

You only need the touch screen digitizer. We also have the digitizer with the front housing which makes the install a little easier. Instructions are included with both showing all the strips including separating the glass from the frame. This step is not needed however with the digitizer with front housing.

Both these parts can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • Comment removed

  • How do you recommend keeping the inside of the glass and the LCD clean before putting it all back together?

  • @sk8brder40 Try to keep finger off the glass so not to get finger prints. The replacement parts at RepairsUniverse (dot) com make this easier as they come with screen protectors which you remove at the last minute, keeping the glass clean.

  • Comment removed

  • @rans42 The screen was not used, sometimes a little dust can get under the screen protectors during testing. We can swap this out for you if you would like.

  • @RepairsUniverse The screen works well and looks great. I didn't like the look compared to the first one that I got but the results are great. Thanks for replying.

  • anyone know who or where i can send my droid for repair services i cracked the bottem screen i guess the "crystal" but my dilema is i have one of the early versions that has an L.E.D. i dont have the LCD version. If anyone could help out id appreciate it.

  • Is the LCD attached to the digitizer glass with any type of adhesive? also, can i order the same digitizer for AMOLED as well as S-LCD? Does it only make a difference when if I'm ordering a new LCD from you?

  • @terrorizingtheturbin No, these are separate parts, they are not attached.

You need to order the correct screen for your phone. You can find out which one you need at RepairsUniverse (dot) com on the HTC Incredible LCD screen replacements product page.

  • @RepairsUniverse I realize the digitizer and LCD are separate parts. I was wondering if they were held together with any adhesive (as most mobile phone digitizers are). I actually order from you guys all the time for repairs on phones but the Incredible is one that I've not replaced yet.

  • @RepairsUniverse Also, I was wondering if the digitizer stayed the same when HTC switched their screen from Amoled to S-LCD

  • @terrorizingtheturbin Yes, digitizer stayed the same.

  • @RepairsUniverse Thank you! Keep up the great work! We all love your videos

  • @terrorizingtheturbin Thanks for the kind comments. Glad they help!

  • I need help with what part(s) I need. The screen is just slightly cracked, but the device still works. Is it just the screen that is damaged? Or do I also need the digitizer?

  • @LiberalD2 If its the outside glass that is cracked then you need the glass touch screen digitizer replacement. You can find these at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • I followed these instructions and replaced my screen but when i put it back together the phone came one but the screen didn't. do you have any idea of what i could do to get the screen to come on?

  • @MissPYT1988 Its either a connection issue or you have the wrong screen version. There is AMOLED and S-LCD. You need the right one for your phone. If you speak with our live chat on the RepairsUniverse (dot) com website they can make sure you get the right one.

  • @MissPYT1988 I am having the same problem if anyone knows the answer please help thank you

  • How do I remove the glass screen once I have taken the phone apart?

  • @AFGofcolinFOSHO You need to remove it from the bezel. We include full instructions on how to do this with our digitizer replacements.

  • I dont understand how to take off the jaws to remove the ribbons... I'm afraid that if I do something wrong I'll ruin the phone.. HELP!

  • @AFGofcolinFOSHO Just lift the black jaw using the safe pry tool as shown in the video.

  • @RepairsUniverse but what is the black jaw I don't see it on my phone

  • Ohh wow that's not bad at all. Thought it would be more complex thanx !
