  • What's really funny is that Florida recently implemented a mandatory drug test for people receiving welfare checks because apparently all poor people do drugs. Only 2% of the welfare recipients failed the test. Since, every drug test costs $30, it added up very VERY quickly, costing the Florida tax payers an additional $200,000.

  • Let's see..."Let them eat cake." Earned Marie Antoinette a close up look at the guillotine...Funny thing about that second amendment thing...It applies to ALL Americans...Just saying...

  • And many of the unemployed have children, who need to eat, and who need a roof over their heads. Are republicans so peety as to risk peoples lives for spite?

  • George Bush eliminated purple kush, George Bush on our nerves he'll push, so George Bush can kiss my tush XD

  • now-a-days u are either a Republican or Republicant such a George Bush

  • @yocanbanconit They speak two sides of their mouths.

  • Not to worry. Those politicians who follow the teachings of Christ about helping the poor will help those in need.

Oh wait. Damn, we are soooo screwed.

  • This is sad... So, so, sad. How can one human do this to another?

  • I do know a couple people who take advantage of unemployment or disability, but they are the shadiest two people I know; truly 1 in 1,000.

I've long held that as long as there is incentive in America, taxation is not going to make or break our economy. It is highly advantageous to have a safety net so that workers and entrepreneurs take risks. Would you open up a risky business, knowing that if you failed you and your family would be homeless and destitute? Probably not.

  • holy cow BATMAN!! Is this for real....Yo! REP. allowed big buisness to take jobs overseas and mexico for cheaper labor..cause you didn't want to pay americans..Now that there is 6 people for every job...you call us stray dogs you bastard!!!!!!

  • Senator Hatch needs to be smacked....jerk

  • The Unemployed are not welcome in my house!

  • and that is the whole point of the american system (hijacked by a certain type of person and/or party)

if u are a repub, there is no such thing as being unemployed!

if u do happen to be unemployed, a repub friend will be there to save u! just make ur political affiliations known!

all miss odonnel had to say was "stop Obama" and they jumped to her

or are repubs tellin their friends "go get a job"?

if u ever become unemployed, let me see u fight for those repub ideals!

  • sharron angle and o donnell say all babies shall be brought in to life!

    ok!

so why complain bout a whole bunch of lil bad kids everywhere?

u tellin the women they should have them regardless of their ability to take care of them!!

so is miss angle saying she is ready to take in all these kids born into bad situations?

or does she just wanna complain bout em?

  • you all are seriously mentally ill. unemployment is stupid. if you apply for a 1000 jobs you will at least get one. its all about hard work and effort. just because you can't find a job two minutes from your house you can't just say oh well lets go to the unemployment line. and stimulating the economy with money WE DONT FUCKING HAVE. WE DONT HAVE THE FUCKING MONEY TO GIVE TO PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE JOBS WHO ARENT MAKING REAL MONEY TO PAY FOR THINGS THEY CANT AFFORD AND THE GOVT CANT AFFORD!!!!!

  • Ugly butch bitch.

  • @Leatherbubba because you can't counter her points you attack her looks and sexual orientation. how very far right of you.

  • Wow that really powerful. She made a great point re: cutting of unemployment also takes money out of the economy. i hate that i hate, but i hate republicans.

  • @fsmorel123 you do realize that money is only FURTHER adding to the defecit of this nation? we're deluding ourselves for thinking we can spend a penny more on people who don't have jobs. it's actually the act of giving unemployment benefits that digs us into the hole. why do you think obama has record spending numbers in his first term? he's trying to help too many people and create utopia where everythings perfect its impossible. you cant just print money and hand it out. please understand.

  • @hockeyyismylife i hope you get laid off and HAVE to collect unemployment so you can have a roof over your head, food on the table, heat & electricity. These basic needs of living, contribute to the economy. I'm not talking about flat screen TV's man. Unemployment benefits covers one third of whatever your salary was! You are an egotistical, uneducated typical American "conservative" Obama trying to help people? GOOD! We need jobs! It benefits society to take care of the least among it.

  • "he's tryin to help too many people"? how evil is that?

i forgot american prezes are not supposed to be helping folk, regardless!

    we all bout takin!

U know, Repubs wont be satisfied and feel's he "compromised" with them until he says "fuck em all"!

the money had been takin from taxpayers "of all stripes" and given to bankers to party and have "no regulations" parties with!

if we just "try the same policies again that got us here", we can make the bump on our heads bigger!

  • The reason people slowed in their spending was not because they had NO money. It was because they had been spending money they did not have. Buying homes that they could not afford the mortgage, and credit card debt so high they can't make the minimum payments. Unemployment insurance is not to stimulate the economy, it is to make sure you have the basics till you can find a job.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne There are no jobs you fucking idiot. Why don't you read something instead of watching Fox news you brainwashed mouth-breathing moron!

  • @shadowfaxx1 Typical Liberal Faggot, go fuck your brother

  • I can't believe this video desn't have more views... it's one of the best speeches I've ever heard.

  • May they all die of cancer or a terrorist attack because they are good for shit !!!

  • @METH3454, Who's "they"?

  • @insightbites , All the politicians who are against unemployment benefits , may they die a slow death !!!!!!!!

  • @METH3454, Thanks for clarifying. Although, your remedy is a little harsh, I basically agree.

  • @insightbites , THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT MY WELL BEING SO I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM EITHER AND I WISH THE WORST ON THEM !

  • Sharron Obtuse Angle = DINGBAT 2.0

  • @yocanbanconit I couldn't have said it better -- SPOT ON!

  • Republicans are right.....you are lazy scum

  • Exactly, if people have no money to spend, local businesses lose their business. A man with no money can't support his local businesses. Giving unemployed people money . . . they're not hording it, they're the most likely to go out and buy stuff.

  • Respond to this video... look I don't blame them it's true...we are lazy but again we pay for our own benefits and so what lets do a drug test... I'll take it. Then when I get my checks I'll buy all the weed I missed out...I'm rich, BITCH!!!

  • Liberals are this fucking retarded.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne - Did you know that several companies have started to separate applications so that they are only interviewing people who are currently employed, and not interviewing the unemployed because they think they're laxy or incompetent? So unemployment benefits should not be given and anyone who becomes unemployed shouldn't be given jobs. Tell me how is the country going to get back on track? It won't, and if this thinking keeps up, America will implode within 1 generation.

  • @yocanbanconit, Thanks for the really excellent/insightful comment! I appreciate you taking the time to contribute.

  • Some people are confused about Unemployment ,it is not welfare, it is insurance that employers pay into. When someone becomes unemployed the employer has to pay. This whole extension thing is a embarrassment to our country and this needs to be passed over other things first. Getting a job is not that easy these days, working at walmart does not cut it. People need real, high paying jobs to stay afloat.

  • Kick people when they're down, typical Republicans.

  • The American people should not be giving tax money to representatives who are just skating on the taxpayers money. Those in congress are nothing but of sophisticated welfare recipients because they are not doing the jobs that they are hired to do. Right now they are on a 2 week vacation while the nation is headed to a state like the Grapes of Wrath, and it is the fault of them!!! Lying, mooch hypocrits.

  • @ANGELBLU2042 - I think you nailed it. They don't know how to solve this problem, but divert that fact by critizing the unemployed. F*** them all.

  • How in the world can Senate Republicans sign off on spending billion of dollars in Afghanistan and other countries to help foreigners while being against helping American citizens via an extension on unemployment benefits? I think Senate Republicans do not have their heads screwed on straight. Their priorities are completely wrong.

  • So Rachel Madcow takes things out of context yet once again!

    allyourtvDOTcom/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1385

    -

"Republicans have attempted on several occasions to extend unemployment coverage, and we would have done so by using unobligated stimulus funds and without relying on deficit spending. The most recent attempt came yesterday, when we offered a unemployment extension on the floor of the Senate. The Democrats objected because they wanted to tack on unrelated spending."

  • Please all my freinds on facebook watch this, it is important. Beware, you will get pissed!

  • So the rich Republican Party called me a drug user, a bum and a stray animal. Also they're gaining political support from the big business. This is absolutely pathetic.

  • @Y2p731 Exactly. If members of the Republican party say bad things about the unemployed and the Republican leadership does not rebuke them, then it is quite obvious that that is how the bulk of Republican politicians feel about the unemployed. It may be how most Republicans feel about them period. Needless to say,no working low or middle class American who might one day lose their job should ever vote for Republicans. They have absolutely no reason to ever do so. Let the rich vote for them.

  • @Y2p731 If you study the Holocaust, this is the type of thing that proceeded it. Dehumanize and seperate is the first step.

  • Wow...people like these greedy rich assholes should be shot

  • They got FRIGGIN 99 weeks of UE,,, ITS ENOUGH!!!

Go find a job, it has to stop somewhere,, What are all these entitled sheeple going to do if the economy crashes. I'll tell you............ starve.

Can't eat your flat screen TV now can ya

  • @sittinguy It's for anyone over 6 months. Do your research before making an ignorant statement like that.

  • @sittinguy Yeah, if there were jobs to get. So...you think millions of people are just sitting around collecting unemployment without trying to get a job? News flash: unemployment agencies make you prove you are searching for work. What a fucking idiot! I'm a Republican but this is ridiculous! The government is already putting us in debt wtf is wrong with putting us in debt 30 billion more? I hope you lose your job so you would really understand what the average American is going through!!!!!!!!

  • @kdg19877 Exactly. Funny how Senate Republicans are okay with putting us further in debt to help foreigners like the Afghanis but not American citizens. Not funny haha but funny peculiar. :-/

  • @kdg19877 ,, I don't know about your state but I personally know people that are close to thier 99 weeks, and all the have to do is apply online for work and that is enough. They sit on their asses and wait/hope for the next extensio. I am willing to do manual labor. What will motivate people to ever really look for work? I'll tell you,, stop the free lunches. I have told a few of the unemployed people about jobs available, and you know what they say,,,, OH, I can't live on the kind of money.

  • @sittinguy What kind of money??? I am sure that the money from a job is way more beneficial than the little money we get on unemployment. I'm not lazy I search for work everywhere. Some places are harder than others. I live in a city where the General Motors plant shut down, there are thousands of people fighting for the jobs that become available here. So for the mean time while I'm personally trying to find a job I am taking my non-lazy ass to school! Is that lazy too?

  • Dems and Republicans are not much different these days.

I think instead of worrying about unemployment benefits, we need to work on job creation. We need to invest more heavily in our infrastructure, provide aid to the states in order to keep teachers employed, and raise taxes on the wealthy.

  • @LoveToday8, I mostly agree, but I would respectfully take issue with 2 of your premises: (1) Although, both parties are beholding to big organized money (large corps. and the very wealthy), every so often the Dems will rear up and bite their paymasters, while the Republicans are just 100% proxies/stooges for those interests, and (2) I don't think the things you mentioned, are, or should be, mutually exclusive with extending unemployment benefits, which have a real stimulative economic effect.

  • @insightbites You won't find any disagreement with me on those 2 things you mentioned.

  • @LoveToday8 Actually,if people were allowed to continue getting unemployment they would spend that money and in doing so help keep others employed or create jobs. Think about it.

  • @WebAnt Agreed but let's not act like unemployment is a bunch of money. A lot of people are barely able to cover rent with that money.

  • @LoveToday8 I feel you,but something is better than nothing.

  • @LoveToday8 Democrats and Republicans are very different. While Democrats almost unanimously were for extending the unemployment benefits of American citizens,Republicans were unanimously against it. That is quite a difference. Unemployed Americans spend unemployment benefits in America and in doing so increase the profits of American companies which in response are liable to start hiring workers. That is one way to create jobs that Republicans oppose.

  • @WebAnt Ehhh...a lot of the products on the shelves these days are made in China, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.

I understand the need to support American companies but let's make sure they are supporting the U.S. by keeping jobs here and paying a living wage to their employees. I am sort lots of people shop at Wal-Mart and Wal-Mart does NOT pay their employees living wages or provide good benefits.

  • @LoveToday8 No matter where American companies get their products they always support the U.S. by hiring Americans to sell their goods as long as they are able to sell them. However, the U.S. govt. hurt such companies by refusing to extend the unemployment benefits of the unemployed and thereby depriving them of customers. They will respond by hiring less and maybe even firing people and creating even more jobless folks. Way to go,Senate Republicans. Not!!!

  • @WebAnt So you think it's better for the U.S. to depend on the likes of Wal-Mart for jobs? Jobs that pay an average of $8-9 an hour with crappy benefits?

I'd much rather have Americans working good-paying manufacturing jobs with good benefits.

Of course we could also work to make union organization much easier and let Wal-Mart employees bargain for better wages and benefits.

  • @LoveToday8 I have learned the hard way that even a "crappy" job is better than no job at all and that the best job security is a good education that makes you too valuable to not hire or fire. God bless.

  • @LoveToday8 You want to work on job creation, but then want to raise taxes on the very people who is needed for job creation. I don't know how smoothly that is going work. You can't depend on the government alone on job creation because the government does not actually produce anything, it only takes (tax) and use. Though if the government didn't mismanage and waste so much money and funds there wouldn't be needy to increase taxes.

  • @firespinguy If you look back in history, you will see that high taxation does not lead to high unemployment. The businesses that are offshoring jobs are offshoring them because they would prefer to pay someone less money in another country. If the U.S. had a single-payer health care system, that could help stop SOME of the bleeding of jobs. I know the U.S. lost out on a Toyota car plant to Canada because health care costs are lower in Canada.

  • @LoveToday8 I'm not convinced everything that worked in the past during a different time would work now. I do think raising taxes on companies that send job overseases is something that is worth trying though. It would persuade companies to keep creating jobs in USA while also bring tax revenue from companies that already have jobs overseas

  • Don't worry Rachel, they can go on WELFARE, and get free HEALTHCARE, and FOODSTAMPS. (Thanks, Dems) Maybe they could get a job if the illegal aliens didn't already have them.

  • @smokeytc, Well put by a douche who has Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter featured on their channel.

  • @smokeytc They wouldn't have to if Republicans would stop playing political games and do what's right. They have no problem voting trillions for millionaires/billionaires, banks and wars, yet people who are in situations out of their control can' t get a break? Besides, what do you think may possibly happen to your job once 1.2 million consumers suddenly disappear?

  • Thanks again to members of the republican party for blocking unemployment benefits for those Americans unfortunate enough to have lost jobs through no fault of their own. They are only responding to what some misguided Americans think they want, which could very well affect them in the not so distant future: Sudden loss of income. The republicans have proven once again that they are not concerned with rebuilding America, which translates to their lack of concern for its people.

  • @MJJR1 I think the Republicans are not concerned with rebuilding America as long as a Democratic administration is in office. They will do as much as possible to make sure this country stays the wreck that it is and then try to use the wretched state of America against Democrats in upcoming elections. All I can say is,God save Republican Senators. Their souls are as black as tar. :-/

  • The American public is not learning its lessons about voting for Republicans, so this is what we get. If the BP disaster and this doesn't say Republicans are worth less than dogshit, I don't know that there's any hope for this country whatsoever.

You can only blame foolishness on spin and deception for so long before you have to expect anyone sane to see that actions speak louder than words. Oh well. Fuck America.

  • vote against the republicans this November and put those republicans in the uneployment lines as well

  • @realdeal0083, excellent suggestion!

  • @insightbites PROBLEM: They have millions, they wouldn't even think about taking the little money unemployment does offer.

  • @kdg19877, Who's the "They" you are referring to?

  • @insightbites All Politicians of course, LOL. I am not choosing parties, please don't think that. I just think that all politicians are well off and do not need the little money that the American unemployed need. I think it is a shame that these people actually make way more than they need (gluttony) and they have the audacity to throw it in our faces.

  • @insightbites That post was actually meant to realdeal who said "put those Republicans in the unemployment lines". Republicans and Democrats alike wouldn't be caught dead taking the little money available to them through unemployment. Their families will always have a secure life with food and a roof over their heads.

  • @realdeal0083 Amen to that.

  • @realdeal0083 Vote against the democrats and their evil beaurocracy.

You don't fucking own us liberals. We're human beings.

    Fuck off!!!

  • @BrettDunbar Was that sarcasm ? Its gettin difficult to tell. Human beings should treat other human beings like human beings. That means HELPING them to get back on their feet. But maybe your head is screwed on differently. Is it on your ass ? Because you sound exactly like one.

Republicans are voting themselves out of the race with this move. Out of touch and completely insane jerks.

  • @realdeal0083 people like you need to be rounded up and sent to Gitmo.....your lazy leeches

  • @gopconservative78 And that statement makes you a Nazi. Not just a theoretical one. You're openly becoming a goose-stepping mustachioed motherfucker. Go to hell. Bye the way I'm sure you consider yourself a good "Christian," right? Go do something useful like spit-shining Boehners balls.

  • @shadowfaxx1 Nazi's weren't bad, just went after the wrong enemy, the Jews did nothing wrong. When the New Reich rises again people like you will be relocated to Gitmo

  • @gopconservative78 Did you pick up your jack boots yet? Do you light a candle every April 20th for your hero? You are a sub-human.

  • @shadowfaxx1 :)

  • O, NAZI's weren't bad? i guess u put on nazi uniforms on weekends claimin u bonding with ur son huh?

  • @realdeal 0083 Voting will not do it we the American people have to take this country back by force the elite are going to put people in office that will do what they want to be done your are my vote will not matter JFK was the last person to stand up to these Tyrents and no one has stood up to them since

  • @realdeal0083 HAHAHAHA you cocksuckers lost BIG time now bow to our emperor....

  • yall have an emperor?

i thought repubs had no real leader?

yall wont claim rush as ur leader, and the tea party is tellin yall what to do!

go borrow some more anger from the tea party, becuz the "gop" are the ones the tea party feel abandoned them!

so dont act like u an organized movement now!
