blattdanielmain@ you got a point yes. But when a rich man such as the man in the video genuinely goes out to make a difference in other people's lives...it creates a feeling of gratitude to God. And, it sets a good example to those who are in a position to help others, without others knowing about it:)
"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." Matthew 6:1
"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." Matthew 6:1
@cheeriosinabowl But if it weren't for the TV show this great gentleman would have probably never gone on this journey... and I bet he will do more off camera in the rest of his life then he did on this show. Sometimes we need some external stimulation to change our surroundings, our mindset, our hearts. While it is not necessary to document the good deeds it may have changed Greg's whole outlook and may also inspire other wealthy individuals to take a careful look at society and help as well.
@cheeriosinabowl me too... and I understand your point too about how it is a bit awkward to publicize one's own giving.. but I really like this show because it exposes people to poverty and struggle at a level they would have not seen without the show. It is one thing to write a check... but its another thing to actually experience the work at the ground level. I think this guy has a really good heart on and off camera. I really hope he carried the spirit with him after the filming was done
Wow!! Great episode and Greg was so generous to those people. Those people are what's good with the world. I hope to be able to do this with my money one day.
watch the secret millionaire of todd and gwen graves...they gave fake checks to the ppl... the date on the cheks was 4/31/08... which does not exist... now we why they were so generous ...
@prank225 It's got a security key lock on it. It's a real check. Have you check the video's date and compare it to the check date. which mean the show was a recorded show not live aired. Why can't it exsist? I don't understand. you can't go from 4/30/2008 to 5/1/2008? ...oh. you think he wrote the wrong date? I do that all the time. but then I catches my mistake.
@123dodgecharger Where is Bill Gates when you need him?? Really?? He is busy donating not 100k, not a million, but BILLIONS of dollars through the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to help fight diseases in Africa and other issues afflicting this planet. We don't need more shows like this, we need more Bill Gates.
He could look a little bit jerk in the beginning but as he said: "in the beginning it was all about me". and I truly believe he has a great heart. Not many people, millionaire or not are worried in helping other people.
That's human insult!! TOTALLY DISGUSTING!! If he's really a caring person, why not make long term committment, why not having that millions to set up a fund? Why not mobilize more people to care for his folks? This is totally hyprocartic, drama show and insulting the dignity of the money receiver.
Thank you for posting this! I watched the first parts and really wanted to see the end. I enjoyed this & another Secret Millionaire episode today. You can feel the emotions of the people... great show idea though this version does seem a bit ~ I don't know ~ difficult to watch at the end because you've got to just imagine how difficult it would be to look out the windows of that limo at those homeless people. He will never go to Vegas again with the same pre-show feelings. That's the true gift.
Arent you still poor when you get to the new area, and so just poor again? I agree everyone should work their arses off, but to say ALL poor people are poor because they they don't try?
People get sh*t on by other people through no fault of their own.
To take your ideas to the extreme you could argue all victims of oppression (even genocide) are partly to blame themselves, since they didn't have the forward thinking/work ethic to get themselves out of that situation and develop elsewhere.
i feel like wealthy should redistribute wealth in this fashion before a class war...
or maybe they should get people the resources instead of money that way it's sure to make them productive, the whole give a man a fish thing you know...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
are you stupid? there will never be a class war. the wealthy are wealthy because they're people of proper action. the poor are poor because they take the wrong actions or none at all.
and, this shit about redistributing wealth is a fucking joke. on one hand, money has no value, so you're talking about redistributing a man's EARNED possessions.
i'd like to see someone take the bread from your mouth and give to someone who's just finished smoking a fortune's worth of crack.
I agree with you to a point. Everyone is the master of their own destiny...
BUT there are people out there that are genuinely poor and find it EXTREMELY hard to get out of their rut even tho they try their best.
Like greg was sayting earlier, he's too busy trying to survive, theres not much time for anything else. Not tryna dog ur comments just dont think its as clear cut as what u say about poor people.
if you're so down and out, remove yourself from the situation that sees you poor. save up, buy a ticket to somewhere else, and develop yourself in a place you wouldn't be considered poor.
I agree, there's no advertising their wealth......most of it seems to be through property.....BUT....hey a guy gives money, for a good cause, fair play to him!!! whatever nationality
I just blocked the idiot who was rude about the gay comment. I know someone that works as an executive for one of his companies and he just doesn't have time for a wife and kids. But I think he has a girlfriend.
I was so desperate to see the end, this show is amazing, the good that will be done with this money is wonderful. It will feed stomachs and help people sleep safely.
the stretch limo was overkill, but overall a great show

It's nice that some rich people are helping others in need.
But is it really necessary to film and broadcast such good deeds? I would have done it quietly away from cameras. No publicity.
Kudos however to Mr. Haerr for opening his wallet to help out ...
