  • this moment was the only time i ever cried in video game history... R.I.P Chopper.

  • 2 persons dont feel the beutiful sound of ac games

  • Blaze(IIWH): "CHOPPER! *long silence* Damnit, we don't have a choice, but to engage. All remaning aircraft. Engage"

  • This shall play at my funeral

  • Why CHOPPER? is was the best.

  • R.I.P CHOPPER((

  • Buenisima la cancion amigo

  • Ace Combat 5 = Battlefield 3

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon = MW3

Bandai namco needs to go back to it's roots, true AC vets want our classic games back, not this revamped and COMPLETELY unrealistic shit. Not to mention cliche and forgettable characters.

And would it KILL them to add in some piano to more of their games?? I mean, c'mon this is just gorgeous.

  • @N3M3SISWARM It HAS been made quite clear, you know, that Assault Horizon is just a little break from the norm of the AC series. Expect AC7 to be back to what we all know and love.

  • CHOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • "THIS is the true power of the Razgriz?"

"It's like they're different pilots! Did the demons take them over?"

"We were no match for them after all!"

  • For the captain Davenport

  • Thumbs up if pink eyes brought you here,

  • NO CHOPPER, NO!

  • Tearjerker song is tearjerker.

  • I'm not kidding, this is actually probably one of the only games in history that literally made me tear up a little while playing it.

  • @TheHumanDirigible You're not the only one.

  • if there is a game made where the razgriz pilots return i guarantee it will sell the most out of all series

  • @autogamer98 it wont happen because at the end of the game it specificly says "the demons or razgriz never flew in the sky in battle again"

  • RIP Chopper Nov 29, 2010

  • @spartans12able ,,R.I.P OUR HERO CHOPPER

  • Games that give you man tears are worth remembering for the rest of your life. Ace Combat 5 and The Metal Gear Solid series have been the only games to make me cry. Damn good stories and damn good games all in one.

  • @tranhax666 Same here, except Armored Core for Answer made me cry when I couldn't beat the hardest route. I cried after I beat it too.

  • I just found out that nemesis8722, a true ace pilot, known all around the Ace Combat world for his video uploads here on YouTube, took his life in January. As soon as I found out, I went to my playlist and started playing this song. Some of you may not have known him...but please...

    join me...

    in saluting...

    Ryan "Nemesis"!

  • Remember November 29, 2010 ~Rip Chopper~

  • I cried playing this level... on the second time round oddly enough. The Ace combat composers are musical geniuses. Truly Great

  • @bigbear1293 me too bro... me too... i was shocked...

  • few more weeks until the ceromony for Captain Davenport

  • If Blaze could speak ,then he would say this:

"Chopper, you were an inspiration to all of us. You have shown us the tragedy of war. We will all remember you in our hearts and heads. Goodbye, Chopper...."

  • Wardog, thanks for holding out for us, Enemy Planes Retreating.

  • Join me...

    in saluting...

    CAPTAIN DAVENPORT!

  • When I played this mission, i was brought to tears when Chopper crashed. Even now, as I listen to this, I fall apart...

  • @GothicSoldier9000 ... Kinda dissapointing when he died but he isnt real! He died protecting Osea from the Yuktobanians!!

  • @dino312989 it's still sad though...

  • we can never forget characters that meant alot for us even though Chopper either wasnt real in this world hes real in here (placing fist on chest) hes our wingman our friend in that world. I did shed tears but i fought on you could feel anger surge through you your feelings become unhumanely in-controllable to the pain as you banked hard to avenge the death of your comrade. This is what we ACE COMBAT FANS have in common we look out and fly for one another. Chopper was a friend to us in the game.

  • I actually was in shock for quite a while and it took months before I could play this mission again in free mission mode... It was just so unnexpected. Though Chopper had shown some signs of weakness on another mission, I think it was Desert Arrow when Edge asks if he's oka after being hit by a missile...

  • A moment of silenc for Captin Alvin H. Davenport "Chopper"

    We Will never Froget.

  • too bad they didn't make this for the ps3.

i used to know how much i played this game on my ps 2.

this is the Call of duty or the Battlefield of the air.

  • @jortyboy Pal, this game is better than any of that CoD shit out there. Infinitely better.

  • @jortyboy Don't EVEN COMPARE shitty CoD with this.

  • @jortyboy Those titles have no place here.

  • chopper :'(

  • most of the flight action games i have, I can expect that one of my wingmen are going to die. So I did expect someone to die in AC5, just wish it wasn't Captian Alvin H. Davinport. In fact I'd be sad if any of my wingmen died, even though Capt. Snow took his place later in the game.

  • This is the best AC Game in their series! The music tracks are great aswell .. Plot, Characters , Planes were amazing..... the newer stuff isnt good as the old....i played Assault Horizon Demo and it really sucks! you cant even stick to the advanced controls....always novice and that sucks!

  • @paolaboy10 same, I wish they kept the mechanics especially when they're referring to that as a "rebirth"

  • @MrHawkeye321 Haven't you ever been sad after a good character in a book that you really enjoyed reading died? this game had a great plot as great as any book

  • First time i played and chopper died I got so pissed and killed every single plane that got in my way. I FUCKING LOVED CHOPPER

  • @hapreh same here, but I thought about one thing would he want us to mourn his death? he would want us to move on like a flock of birds and fly carelessly like birds

  • Reminds me of the soundtrack from pearl harbor

  • omg... i cried... this song seriously made me cry <3

  • Chopper..? how about the Kestrel? That scene pulled more emotion out of my heartless body than...Chopper. I for one am not going to miss that voice. HAY DONT U LIKE BACK SIDE OF THE COIN BLAZE?!!?!? HURRR I CALL U KID CUS IT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER FOR BEING ONE UP'D BY BARTLETT.

  • Not gonna lie. I was kinda glad when this obnoxious tool died. Snow was a much more enjoyable wingman.

  • @TheFilthface

I loved Snow's personality, and the disdain he and Chopper both showed for the foolishness of the war.

  • @TheFilthface Ever learn to Hold your Word . Everyone here Love Chopper include me . You say in wrong place . And...sometime it's Good to tell Lie .

  • i still have this game

  • Half way through I ran out of missiles and special weapons. I got two madels for machine gun kills and one for wingman kills.

  • descansa en paz amigo chopper siempre estaras en nuestro corazon :( siempre sera razgriz

  • descansa en paz amigo chopper siempre estaras en nuestro corazon :(

  • The first time I played Journey Home... Holy shit. Cried like a fucking baby. Roos15, same thing with me.

  • I miss you Chopper. Please forgive my inability to protect you. The Razgriz will never forget you. *Salute*

  • The "JOURNEY HOME" flyover mission was probably the one of the top 5 best in the game. Does anyone know if the music that played during the flyover (not the dogfight) is on youtube or the soundtrack?

  • @Valkyrie1166 Yes, it's called Free Flight.

  • I thought the only ace combat games that were linked were AC5 abd AC0

  • This is the only video game to ever make me cry..

  • @Roos15 :) you haven't played the whole (emotional) series then.

  • I've never even played the game and the music chills me to the bone, as well as the story of this Chopper fellow. I hope to play this game in the near future.

  • @Wuzzup222 it is great don't wait this game and choppers death will make you angry and excited play it and youll see what i mean

  • @wfl19 Hell, this music is making me sad, so I wouldn't be surprised if his death made me angry. It seems like a very emotional game .-.

  • @Wuzzup222 at that point but it is very intense the first time you play it

  • I went through my collection of PS2 games and discovered I still had AC5. I then remembered how the storyline was equally as awesome as the music accompanying it. Instantly looking on youtube, I checked this out and gave it a listen, and the memories came back; as if I were playing it for the first time again. Thank you for uploading this song - shows that other fans appreciate this fantastic game and, rightfully so, music.

  • This is the true power of the Razgriz?! (Always loved that quote.)

  • 1 person was shot down by the 8492nd squadron.

  • From all of these comments, I see that Chopper is one of the few video game characters that make the user cry when he died/left, such as Solid Snake and Ghost Rider (BFBC2) I shed tears when Chopper cried, and I sobbed at the end of MGS 4

You will be missed, chopper. Fly with the Angels.

  • My username is in dedication to Chopper, unfortunately I could not get 8492 like the squadron, as it was taken, so i took the first suggestion given to me.

  • I do like how this arrangement is essentially "The Unsung War," albeit slower, sadder, and without lyrics. (Seriously, go listen to The Unsung War, and then listen to this immediately afterward.)

  • @Velocity88

In essence, both The Unsung War and Into the Dusk are variants of the main theme Razgriz. Except, TUW is an epic final battle song and ItD is a sad song portraying the emotions of fighter pilots after the death of friend.

  • Chopper.....The one whom I felt the ease of laughter with, along with the fury to bring back the peace and end the war. You are dearly missed to us all. I hope you rest easy. The hell am I kidding, I'll see you eventually. Maybe we will fly the skies together once again.

Thumbs this up to Stand with me and Salute Captain Davenport! Rest easy Chopper. You are my dearest ally. -Blaze

  • ALL HAIL BELKA

  • I keep seeing all of these tribute-comments to Chopper. So beautiful, so inspiring, so....shit I forgot who he was.

  • This game series is my favorite just for its music, everytime I play one one scene like this one will always make me me cry and very few things in reality and gaming have made me shed tears.

God Bless Chopper and bless the ongoing future of this series!

As for the little troll who thumbs-downed there is a special place in hell just for you.

  • The one dislike was Chopper.

  • heh, ill miss that sweet voice

  • WHO IN GODS NAME WOULD PISS ON THIS BRAVE HEARTED MANS GRAVE? he was a nobile fighter pilot to the end, pilots, honor me in soluting, CAPTIAN DAVENPORT!

  • This was the best one of the entire series. I seriously nearly cried when Chopper went down in the stadium.

  • in memory of our hero chopper ...rip

  • From the skies we come to the skies we go fron now throughout eternity.

  • Not sure why, but Chopper reminded me a lot of Falco Lombardi from Star Fox with his rebellious and independent personality as well as his diction.

  • The yuke fighter pilot who shot chopper down disliked this song...

  • @BlackandBlue1993Jc this is the only comment referencing the dislike bar that I've ever liked

  • chopper sucked i liked galm 2 and PJ from ace combat 0

  • @SovietUnion100 shut the hell up you idiot

  • @razgrizdemon123 `cry me a river

  • @SovietUnion100 FUCK YOU

  • @leadernoble6 i love you too bro

  • @SovietUnion100 I lol'd at your cocky responses. You made my day.

  • At first i hated choper his somtimes stuped questions and coments but i grew to like him i sorta cryed when he died and it grips my heart evey time he gos down.

  • @AndrewSMi95 Not to be an ass, but they sucked for AI's. Like every other game, I had to do all the work. Even so, it is a wonderful game and story. I got teary a few times. I will always remember this game.

  • @tranhax666 well in 5 or 10 years we'll have super smart AI that knows what to do and dosent just fly in circles or shots at walls. Then well have beter games.

  • @AndrewSMi95 It's been about 5 years since Ace Combat 5 and AI's still suck. Even so, I aprreciate...damn, i suck at spelling...I like older games more than most of the new games. The latest game I like Is Fable series. I like the concept of YOU being the character, choosing who and what they are. Ace Combat, YOU were the character.

  • I had to stop playing AC 5 for a couple hours after the first time I played this mission. Now that i've played through the game so many times his death doesn't really hurt me anymore, but I still get quiet when I hear the music.

  • I dont know why but i liked Chopper but something was always off about him, i guess maybe i liked nagase as my wingmen more then the others cause i had to save her in Ace Combat 4, but i really like chopper and he became my favorite when he sacrificed himself and i felt sad, and to respond to BlueDemonofFire when he sacrificed himself i replayed it trying to save him too

  • to say the least... this is the first i actually really felt shock over the loss of a teammate, i remember when he first started talking about having electrical issues keep thinking" cmon chopper.... you've done enough... bail out... BAIL OUT" and it was already too late, i sat shocked and in disbelief as i watched a freind and wingmate plumet to his death and i honestly cryed with grief for the lost of a friend and rage for what the enemy had done, i love when a game binds you that close :)

  • Farewell, Alvin Davenport. I'll remember you well. As a pilot, as a wingman, as a friend.

Chopper, wherever you are, keep on flying.

  • Chopper was always funny, always talkative and someone you enjoyed having on your team. When his plane was damaged, you actually felt scared and worried for him. After he got downed,i felt joy downing the enemyplnes in a way that only who has played that game can understand.I thought that in the end of the game i'd find Chopper alive

  • Comment removed

  • That 1 dislike was a hawks fan boy.

  • This is the only video game to date that makes me cry every time I get to this point. Its such an amazing thing that people can get that into the story and be connected with the characters. Hoping Assault Horizon is half as good as this was.

  • What a wonderful masterpiece:Game, music, story. I liked this story way more than top gun!

  • that one dislike.... that person as no heart at all.... BLACK HEART....

  • @leadernoble6 agreed

  • RIP chopper, the bestperson in the game. unfortinitly for swordsman (who i like as a pilot) i dont really accept him. Only Bartlet would havebeen a good replacement for chopper.if i could i would hack the game andadda scenewhere they find chopper alive.

  • I think I can safely say Ace Combat 5 is my favorite video game, mostly because the story was so gripping. I haven't played it for months, and I'm sitting here choked up after simply listening to the music from it... Such an amazing game... I only hope they can manage to make Assault Horizon half as good, and that they stick to their roots of amazing stories and an anti-war message rather than trying to be the Call of Duty of the skies. That would be heartbreaking for me..

  • The first play though of this game I did, I freakin cried more than ANY other game I have ever played. When I saw chopper go down, I went into a mode of revenge on all those other pilots while I was tearing. Ended up running out of missles and I was definetly 200% more better at using that gun than any other time.

  • lol only 1 dislike XD

  • @MrPho504Gaming That "only 1 dislike" Is like a stab into the heart of those who like this game so dont lafle at it condem it.

  • @MrPho504Gaming stop joking about it

  • Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music for this?

  • words could not discribe when i saw chopper died, i was inraged like no other even on ace mode i shot down every yuke plane so bad they did not see it coming, even when they were coming down i still shot them to ensure they were dead, i have heard and read a possible fact that the person who shot chopper was the 8492nd squad leader, after i read that, the last mission unsung war i did the same thing to the 8492, shot them to death whilst they were going down.

  • im the same way, i have seen many characters die in video games, but chopper's death was different. when it happened, i didnt cry, instead, i was sitting there with my mouth open, thinking "oh no you DIDNT motherf*ckers" suffice it to say, of all the survivors of that fight, i dont think any of them were yuke.

  • I agree, I've seen many casualties from NPC characters in games but when it was chopper's turn I couldn't help but cry. It's probably the saddest video game moment in history (to me it is....and I know some troll will "correct me" even though I just stated "to me it is" >.>) RIP chopper. . . . . . Nothing will let me forget you, for you were the best damn pilot a captain could ask for *sniff*.

  • God bless Chopper, was a noble fighter till the very end.....

  • Comment removed

  • When I first played that mission, I could not explain the feeling when i heard Chopper's plane was failing slowly, or when I saw his plane moving towards the Stadium. I still can't...

    RIP Chopper

  • I remember when the mission where you attack the fortress, one of the tank drivers cracked a joke about only seeing three Sand Island pilots...

We had some friendly fire casualties.

  • @Karuik2 "Only good boys get to see the fourth"

  • @Karuik2 ya...um...did they get FAEBombs to their heads, thats what I remember

  • "I'm going to miss that voice", his last words after hearing Thunder-"blockhead" (As he once called him), his last words before he flew his plane into his death after waiting for the people to evac the stadium. Instead of dropping the plane there, he waited for them to reach safety, but when the moment to eject arrived, it was too late, a heroic sacrifice. If he just did it earlier...

He died because of a false hatred between two countries, a hatred planned by a country that just wanted revenge.

  • I have watch countless people die in games but none made me shed a tear but for some reason chopper made me cry when he died there was something different about him from the rest. He was funny he was a wise guy he desired peace and he protected the helpless with his last breath he was like a brother to me and watching him die was tragic. Rest In Peace Chopper no one can replace you.

  • I cried when chopper died. This was the only game that is able to do that. In halo reach, I had no sadness when Jorge, Emile, or Carter died. Kat's death was a little sad. In MW2, Ghost's death was both brutal, sad, and quite disturbing.

    *Salute*

  • I cried when chopper died. The next mission was tough to go through.

    *Salute*

  • Nous sommes tous razgriçais...

    We are all Razgriz...

  • all of us will remember chopper, he fought until the end, he was one of the best, he was my best wing man, i just wish he was still alive to see the peace that the razgriz has brought... chopper R.I.P and watch over us, because i know that you are still my by my side, i will never forget the time we fought with and flew with you.

  • @leadernoble6 damn man it sounds like someone really died! lol

  • @leadernoble6 -salutes-

  • I just remember after Chopper got shotdown, I had a moment of Zen like focus. I shot down about six or seven enemy fighters with my Gun alone. I was out of missiles, and I was pissed as hell.

To Lt. Davinport, I salute you.

  • @Fieryone233 Captain, posthumously promoted to LtCol for being killed in the line of duty.

  • *salute to cap. Alvin H. Davenport* TT_TT .... he do everything for his country ... a great man and great person ... i will miss you voice man ...

man ... i still drop manly tears for him ... AND SHUT DOWN THAT MOTHER F*****CKERS BELKANS AND YUKTOBAINS .... yesterday i play this mission for 1st time .... man ... i never cry for game ... like this ... TT__TT ... and also in that part i run out of missiles and still shut down those dumbasses whit my machinegun only and sream: CHOPPER! ...

  • When I finish the game made me want to mourn, I knew when it began the era of peace.....

  • RIP chopper, you were the bravest of us all. . .

  • All Join Me In Saluting Captain Alvin H.Davenport!

    R.I.P

    Although he is dead he will always be remembered in our hearts;

We Will Never Fly Alone because although he is not there we still imagine him there and we can never forget him .

See You On The Other Side 'Motor Mouth Chopper' and thanks .

  • when u play the mission kill them with only ur guns n not missles to show them how serius u r for loseing a close comrad make them pay in the most humiliating way only that way can our anger be subsided n our sorrow payed for

  • @3ThReaper and then they said in the radio in that part: "that is who looks like a demon? D: " ... man ... i do this too whit my all anger and amost cried ...

  • Salute the aces of Razgriz!!!! and Captain Alvin H. Davenport.(chopper)

  • Comment removed

  • Everybody posting up about chopper had the same horrible feeling of his death including me too so we all avenged him with uncontrolled manuvers like never before seen by those yuke pigs they will pay espically the grabarc, this is truly unforgiving from the yukes and grabarc

  • On Saturday November 27th 2010 Captain Alvin H Davenport was killed in action while defending civilians from a Yuktobanian air strike.. he was a model fighter pilot to the very end...

  • The Unsung War Is The Best Game,Story & Experience I have ever Had From AC Series

  • when chopper was shot down, i was so angry and sad, i felt right then that i could just wipe out every enemy plane in an instant with the force of my emotions. did anybody else feel that way? and the cutscene at the end of the mission where the freindly planes perform the salute, i nearly broke out crying right there.

  • @DarthRazac1 I know exactly how are you feeling....

  • @DarthRazac1 i broke ut crying on tht cutscene i felt the sameway grabacr paid dearly for it

  • When Chopper first got shot down, I wasn't really that affected. Sure, he was one of my squad members, but it just didn't affect me that much.

Until I pulled a turn and saw smoke billowing out of the stadium. That's when it really hit me, and I happily joined the others in their uncontrollable rage.

  • I cry every time I hear this song and play that level.

  • "I'm going to miss that voice." lol that put a tear to my eyes

  • I cant help but think this game help set a rule in place for being downed in an urban environment. Ride it in if you have to but ensure there are no civilian casualty's.

  • RIP Chopper

  • RIP Chopper

  • First time I played this level, the Yukes were damn lucky I ran out of missiles and had to express my rage with my Guns, or it would have been messy.

  • my first play-through on this mission and Chopper got shot down, I was like ".............. YOU MOTHER F@^$KERS!!!!!!!!" I whipped their asses something fierce in Chopper's honor. Chopper, you are deeply missed.

  • I need 160 cookies and 1 bullet

  • okay whoever disliked this can go to hell. how could anyone hate this song?

  • Keiki Kobayashi has given me so many musicboners over the years

  • it was like i almost saluted chopper with thunderhead.......sniff...........we'll miss u chopper........

  • i get goosbumps just listening to this song. R.I.P Chopper

  • Down in a blaze of Glory

  • I almost cried when I saw Chopper got shot down.......sniff,man..... I'll never forget the many dogfights with 3rd wingman callsign "Chopper"
