We often take for granted his role in Frankenstein ,since its been copied a million times after , its simply one of the greatest and influential performances in cinema history ,even today there's just nothing fake about it ,totally real and sincere by the most loved actor in hollywood history.
The most recognized movie character in history is the Frankenstein monster. No other actor-portrayed character is close. A gentle man behind the mask. And as a young man, very handsome dark featured Brit. I saw him in the 1st version of 'Scarface', with Paul Muni and George Raft. That's still my favorite version.
@TheMissingNoMaster They're both two of my favorites, but somehow I can't see Lugosi pulling off say the drowning of Maria from Frankenstein with the same pathos Karloff gave it.
