The most recognized movie character in history is the Frankenstein monster. No other actor-portrayed character is close. A gentle man behind the mask. And as a young man, very handsome dark featured Brit. I saw him in the 1st version of 'Scarface', with Paul Muni and George Raft. That's still my favorite version.

@TheMissingNoMaster They're both two of my favorites, but somehow I can't see Lugosi pulling off say the drowning of Maria from Frankenstein with the same pathos Karloff gave it.
