i got this phone for free with SMART because of their retention plan. after using it for a while i do have to say that there is an issue with lag when reading messages and navigation. sure, there's more eye candy, but the phone seems slower by a tad.

E71 is built much better but that's about it... E72 has better camera, better transition effects, better processor, probably litle bit more memory than E71 - overall: If you don't have E71 - get E72 ... if you have E71 - it is not worth of upgrade to E72...

E71 has been a phone that cost $350 and slowly downgraded its price to $270 over period of 2 years... E72 came out just recently with $399 price tag and decreased in price drastically for a short period of time - that trend tells you not many people are buying it - if you have E71 not worth of upgrade because all you get is better camera, transition effects, slightly more memory, faster processor that does the same work as E71 one... practically you have to spend $100 to switch the E71 for E72

When you get the chance, go check it out. And make sure to ask for a working model, even without the sim card. Test out the sound quality and navigation and such and see if you like it.

Also, check out any bugs and glitches that hopefully will be fixed w/ a firmware update.

i have just about given up on Nokia. E72 is the same software that my E71 has, but with improved hardware. E series are only business devices by hardware only, everything else in S60 is the same on all S60 devices. I am getting a Blackberry. 9700 has high res screen, superior calendar and task list.

1) In another video they mentioned that the optinav button has haptic feedback. Is that correct, and if so, how well does it work?

2) How does the optinav button fare in web browsing. Does the mouse pointer still only go up-down-left-right (like most other phones including the E71) or does the optinav button allow the mouse pointer to move diagonally?

Nope...it does not.. that was something i suggested to nokia developers., this phone looks more like E63.. the plus points are it supports 3.5G, got a 5MP camera, expandable memory up to 16GB, Enhanced bluetooth 2.0, and of course the scrolling option... very superior to E71, supports chat features.. its a pretty cool mobile... camera is only 15 FPS..that is the only drawback but it is never a dealbreaker...
