  • tonight i fell in love with my bestfriend

  • These guys sound just as good if not better than they did in 1961. I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting them in Vegas at a doo-wop convention 4 years ago. Long live doo-wop and the Tokens!

  • Never lost his voice...God Bless!

  • This IS beautiful music.

  • NICE

  • still excellent!!!

  • This is about as good as it gets.

  • No fancy electronics or mixers--just 5 voices in perfect--note perfect, harmony. Long live Doo-Wop! Wolfsky9

  • My 8th grade dance last year, they played this song, and now every time I hear it, I remember that night, very clear. :)

  • Known as the Jewish Boys from Broklyn if I'm not mistaken. Love, Love, Love this song. Better than The Lions Sleeps....Sorry.

  • Quite possibly the best doo-wop song of all time!

  • This song from February of 1961 was Jay Siegal and the tokens first hit record and one of their best, second only in sales to The Lion Sleeps Tonight. The tokens were formed in 1955 and performed mostly in the New York, New Jersey area until this record put them on the charts. As of a few years ago they still peformed nation wide and as this video expresses, they sound just as good as when they started. Talented group and great personalities!

  • @rvictor64 The actual first lead singer of the Tokens was Neil Sedaka.

  • Doo Op Rules. They play this at Johnny Rockets

  • I love his face! And the song!

  • I meant 60's version :)

  • Wow they are amazing and his voice is as perfect as the 1950 's version ... Fantastic !

    Just love this song !!

  • How many people know that Neil Sedaka was an original Token?

  • @l1nkh0gthr0b did not know that. interesting trivia

  • Masters at work...thank you for all the wonderful tunes and lyrics....keep on doing what you do for all of us...

  • oh my God,,,are they great ...He still is fantastic..These groups never make

The Rock and Roll Hall of fame and they are so great...New York Doo Wop

groups,,where the best around... thanks for letting us hear this...

  • You look at the views on this and wonder why this great music doesn't get 75,000,000 and Gaga only gets 24,000. Thks for posting..

  • Do wop forever!

  • Dude still sounds GOOD, my brother!!!

  • Can you imagine catching this performance live?

  • Transformational.....good times....knockin' it down.

  • I fell in love all over again with The Tokens. Thanks for great memories guys.

  • my favorite song. there's no word to describe how amazing they're

  • SUPERFINE...this was DVD bonus footage, and till now I've never seen it...still an all-time top 10 fave of mine...thanks for posting

  • I could listen to this music 24/7.......good, clean lyrics and great voices.

  • I`m so glad my mom listen to this music when I was a kid I learned to appreciate all types of music

  • Ya know, these guy didn't need any musical instruments to pull this off...music in its' purest form!

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Obviously a testament to clean living and apparently, no cigarette smoking! Just an amazing , ageless voice.

  • wooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww amazing voice wow

  • I can't believe he (Jay Siegel) can still sound that good!

  • Amazing that they are still in the original key, and so damn good.

  • This is about as good a rendition of the original as you will ever hear. This is their best song and Siegel is on top of his game.

  • Oldies forevever and ever

  • Jay Siegal hits the same notes from 1959 in the same key now as he did then. His falsetto is perfect.

  • This is the best sound they are made.

  • This song was The Tokens' first major hit. It was released on the Warwick label in 1961, went to #15 on the Hot 100, and got them onto Bandstand. Thanks to that appearance, they were able to move and record the now iconic "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

IMHO, however, this song is far superior and highly underrated!

  • @theroyalsofsd So few people realize or admit that Tonight was a far better song than Lion was. Thank you!

  • @BobbyDelRiv Tonight I Fell in Love was one of the few real, true doo wop songs that the Tokens ever released.

  • @Howieshet You have to be a true DooWop fan like we are in order to realize that. Also the great When I Go To Sleep At Night.

  • are you 16 or over and can sing and live in Germany ...and have what it takes like these guys to rock the world....if you think you have it...then PM me

  • this is just great !! to all those groups from those years thank you very much !

  • I saw them a few weeks ago and Jay and the rest of the tokens are as good as this video demonstates. Love them in person!!!

  • Holy crap - that's the same key as the original, and just as good. Wow.

  • I second the "Wow"!

  • wait a minute, is that Neil Sedaka??

  • No, it;s Jay Siegel.

  • why no more info? who are these fellows? they are great....!

  • The Tokens

  • The gentleman in the blue jacket singing lead is Jay Siegel, the original lead singer of The Tokens.

The two men to the immediate left and right are Phil (L) & Mitch Margo (R, w/guitar), also original members. On the far ends are Eddy Rezzonico (L) and Bill Reid (R).

The line up you see is actually a combination of 2 touring groups.

  • At the time this was filmed, Jay, Bill, and Eddie were performing as "Jay Siegel & The Tokens" and The Margo Brothers, along with other Margo family members, toured simply as "The Tokens."

Since the time of this performance, Eddie has passed away (as told to me by Bill Reid himself) and been replaced by Jay Traynor, original lead of "Jay & The Americans."

This same lineup, with Jay replacing Eddie, was seen on the more recent "Doo Wop Love Songs" special on PBS.

  • Love the Oldies, and Dr. Jay Siegel. This was back when music made sense.
