no good...much slower than iMAc...1000 bucks more...teh macbook pro that is versus 3.0 GHZ, 1066 FSB imac...geta cheap intel dualcore 2.0 gateway for 499 and you are good to go. no ESATA...no quadcore on the pro? i am a mac fan, but this is a price increase, for the same intel components, except for much needed bus speed increase. neat design,,,but a price of 899 macbook, and 1299 for the pro, would have been more realistic, considering teh HUUUGE price drop on intel pc laptops...same hardware.

great video as usual, I'm with you on the fact that Apple designed some really slick-looking computers for this latest revision... but honestly that's where my praise for the new models ends, you're really not getting the features to justify spending $1499 (U.S.) for the top model, not when a similar-sized laptop from a comparable brand could be configured with those same options (and more USB ports/Firewire) for under $1000. I really hope this is just a slump typical of any v1.0 product...

the macbooks do look very nice. i was always bummed about the macbook's X3100 graphics card and white body. good to see that apple changed that stuff.

Macbook Pro was already a great computer a hardware upgrade wasn't really neccessary but hey more power for the same price is always welcomed. I do hope though they come out with a matt screen version. glass is nice but too reflective for my taste.

Sorry Bum Slave but Ive heard that Mr Jobs has said that will NOT be doing matt finish screens from now on in any of their Macbook range. :-( Doesnt bother me tho - ive had a glossy screen on my laptop for over 3 years now and I LOVE it. Looking forward to picking up a new MBP after xmas.
