I can't honestly believe some of these comments on here people who are younger then 16 actually saying they've played the whole series is kinda hard to believe when at that age it'd probably hard in itself to actually own every game in the series (unless your parents have some serious cash)...
@hec2006 They've played every game in the series, doesn't mean they have them. Maybe some of them they borrow them, or just played it a bit a a friend's house.
And plus, a lot of people get them through emulators. I have FF1 to FF9 on emulator, FF10 on PS2, FF12 on emulator, and FF13 and FF13-2 on Xbox 360. The only ones I do not own are FF11 and FF10-2. And hey, I've played them of course :)

There was still a bit of linearity in all ff games just some not as much as others but we all play the games for their amazing story. A true final fantasy fan would appreciate all games even if it had some flaws,sure we like some more than others but in the end they are all amazing and wonderful "Masterpieces".
I think with a lot of people their first final fantasy experience remains their favourite regardless of what comes out (good or bad). FF9 was my first and remains my favourite within the franchise.

Seeing as you dislike FFIX (which is quite a classic), I'd say you just have your own unique tastes. Generally, what I said applies to those who are too serious and over-analyze things. It just so happens that a lot of the people who do that are older.
I think 13 was the best, i mean the story, the sound, the graphics, were just unreal, the cutscenes, the monsters, the leveling system everything was so great, i dont understand how people can complain about it being to lineal, didnt they get to paals, you get there after and amazing history and yes u still have a small world to explore, the fighting system was for me the only thing they could improve, but a small complain in all the excelency of the game is nothing...then 13-2 sh·ty in everyway

@hangmansasistant666 Strangely enough, the title of "Final Fantasy" has nothing to do with games themselves, other than the fact that they are all fantasy games. The only game the term "Final" applies to is FF1, which was *supposed* to be Square's last game. The name is simply a traditional title used to represent a series of fantasy RPG's which Square puts out. There are no strict laws for what FF is, cause if you haven't noticed, there are far more than just 14 of them, and each are unique. :)
Not really considering they have a Premier at the main menu of XIII-2 that basically goes over everything that happen in XIII so you technically don't have to play XIII to know what happens...

@kayzaac People just connect with the games that come out during their youth, it's a nostalgia thing. I get it with FF8. Whereas FF7 which I didn't play at the time, I can't relate with and so don't particularly like. There are exceptions though. First played Chrono Trigger a few days ago and am LOVING it.
This is blatant generalizing. I am in my mid 20's and I love all of the FF games, except two. FFIX, and FFXIII. I have my reasons for hating them, but that doesn't mean I can be described by what you said.
Though, while I hated XIII, I really do like XIII-2.

XIII-2 is surely one step better than the others FFs we've seen published by SE. I'm happy to see some improvement, still not enough to be compared to the old Squaresoft masterpieces but cool.

Every Final Fantasy game has it's flaws but personally 13 and 13-2 are my favourites so far, anybody can disagree with me- we all have different opinions- but when I play 13 and 13-2 I feel much more part of the story because of the depth of the characters and the music is just beautiful. Every Final Fantasy is a masterpiece and they will be for years to come! :D

@Behind000Insanity I agree, and I'm 12!!! I've played every game in the series, and 12 is BY FAR my favorite. Though my first one was 10, because I used to watch my sister play it all the time. People really shouldn't freak out over the change in the series, because if EVERY game had the same exact system of battle, people would get used to it, and it'd be fun at first, but after like 30 games(counting spinoffs) it would get VERY old. I like 12's battle system, more active to me.
@kisuketoshiro34 I prefer more the classic battle system, but I found the XII's one original too. It felt kinda like a mix of Kingdom Hearts and Crysis Core, but the FF way. Sure, wasn't maybe the greatest, but not the worst either. Either way, I still liked the game. Quite original I think :)
But yeah, you're right. One think to take not of is that Square Enix always updates a little bit the battle system, so it never gets old...
P.S.: For a lot of fans (not me), the series died after FF XII
@Behind000Insanity 15 here played all the games with the exception of III, I gotta disagree with you slightly. 13 and 13-2 are by no means bad games, they are great games, but they stray so much from the traditional formula it's just a shock for the long time fans. FFIX is my all time favorite game and is regarded by many as the purest and perfect form of a Final Fantasy when compared to the others, 13 compared to the others is like a different franchise with Gil and Chocobos.
Then you need to go replay FF 4-7 again because the depth of characters in those FFs are far more in depth and story driven then in anything in FF13 period sorry but as a guy who's played the whole series its the truth honestly...

Like the demo, and hopefully the game itself, this battle theme reminds me of a remastered HD version of Chrono Trigger, my all-time favorite. The violin lick even reminds me of Chrono Cross. So, yes. I am in love with this song.

sane goes for the boss theme, there is no specific boss theme, well there are for specific fights but never a main boss theme
This battle theme is EPIC!!! I think I like it more than the one in FFXIII, this one has a better beginning and it's more energy in it. Perfect for battle :)) I always thought Blinded by Light were a bit too calm for me, but the violin in Blinded by Light is waaay better than the one in this theme >.< Looking so forward to the release!! <3
@LzDemyx Listen to The Ruler of Time and Space, the theme from the trailer where Lightning and Caius fight one another. Hand on heart, I think that is one of the best FF battle themes i've ever heard.
@LzDemyx If you look at something with a fixed opinion, it's not going to change your mind. Final Fantasy doesnt stay the same every game, it appeals to different people too. Some people liked the futuristic dystopia of FF7 but others liked the more primitive cultures of the older games. I loved FF13, it was one of my favourites in the series, not just because it was the newest but because it had characters who weren't all black and white. I'm going to love this new one too.

@Behind000Insanity I agree, and I'm 12!!! I've played every game in the series, and 12 is BY FAR my favorite. Though my first one was 10, because I used to watch my sister play it all the time. People really shouldn't freak out over the change in the series, because if EVERY game had the same exact system of battle, people would get used to it, and it'd be fun at first, but after like 30 games(counting spinoffs) it would get VERY old. I like 12's battle system, more active to me.

@kisuketoshiro34 I prefer more the classic battle system, but I found the XII's one original too. It felt kinda like a mix of Kingdom Hearts and Crysis Core, but the FF way. Sure, wasn't maybe the greatest, but not the worst either. Either way, I still liked the game. Quite original I think :)
But yeah, you're right. One think to take not of is that Square Enix always updates a little bit the battle system, so it never gets old...
P.S.: For a lot of fans (not me), the series died after FF XII

@Behind000Insanity 15 here played all the games with the exception of III, I gotta disagree with you slightly. 13 and 13-2 are by no means bad games, they are great games, but they stray so much from the traditional formula it's just a shock for the long time fans. FFIX is my all time favorite game and is regarded by many as the purest and perfect form of a Final Fantasy when compared to the others, 13 compared to the others is like a different franchise with Gil and Chocobos.

Like the demo, and hopefully the game itself, this battle theme reminds me of a remastered HD version of Chrono Trigger, my all-time favorite. The violin lick even reminds me of Chrono Cross. So, yes. I am in love with this song.

This battle theme is EPIC!!! I think I like it more than the one in FFXIII, this one has a better beginning and it's more energy in it. Perfect for battle :)) I always thought Blinded by Light were a bit too calm for me, but the violin in Blinded by Light is waaay better than the one in this theme >.< Looking so forward to the release!! <3

@LzDemyx If you look at something with a fixed opinion, it's not going to change your mind. Final Fantasy doesnt stay the same every game, it appeals to different people too. Some people liked the futuristic dystopia of FF7 but others liked the more primitive cultures of the older games. I loved FF13, it was one of my favourites in the series, not just because it was the newest but because it had characters who weren't all black and white. I'm going to love this new one too.
