Dude...I was wondering if you could contact me in regards to this mod you did? I had a 07 HD V-Rod that I tried to install the O.E.M chrome tips for that bike. It was a drill & pop rivet install. Well! I fucked it up & put a pair of Vanes Hines on the bike. Loved them! I just don't want to drop the bank or mess with the setup of my Raider. By the way. I think my bike has the same paint scheme as yours. pauljordan318@gmail.com is my e-mail. Hope to hear from you in regards to your mod. Promise n
@PaulJordan318 IT's easy. All you have to do is disconnect where the catalytic converter connects to the exup valve in the mid pipe. Figure out where and how you want to cut the mufflers. Use a band saw or chop saw, in my case I used a sliding compound miter saw with a chop saw blade. Cut em at least 2 inches from the end to clear the welded in end caps. Then just pull the remaining baffles out with vise grips. How you finish with paint is up to you. I ultimately had mine powder coated.
Hey man could you email me sometime? I've got the same model and this is the best sound I've heard come out of it yet. Won't keep you long I promise. Just want to make sure I get the details right so I don't mess this up when I do it. :) skipscody@aol.com
Yes, the black is the original gutted muffler. Since I've done this mod the ceramic header paint that I used chipped off, so I took them and had the tips powder coated black. Cost about $90 I think.
Good job dude. Sounds like a V8 with flow masters. I have Reaper tips on my Raider and sounds the same. Nice to get the sound you want without having to spend a grand and screw with the fuel system.
Not at all. I've been averaging 45-50 mpg every tank. That's after I put a Cobra fi2000 o2 optimizer on it. Every now and then it would pop in between shifts. The optimizer really smoothed it out. It's safe to run with the baffles removed because the of the EXUP valve and the catalytic converter.
That's a very good way of looking at it.

That vehicle does not ruin your video, conversely helps comparing sound. Nice ride, very nice mod! Thanks for sharing.

Looks & sounds Great!
Funny POS in view, I'd edit him out.
If I had not purchased 1800Neo, this would be next choice.

Kewl. Did you remove the pipes or cut them while still mounted? And what kind of paint did you say you used? How did you apply the paint? THANKS
