  • saiidi is egyptian baladi dance. why is the music played here not egyptian balady?

  • Saidi is a rhythm & folkloric dance style from the Said desert region of Egypt. This is a traditional Saidi song "La La La Omri Manhounik". Baladi is often a confusing term for people because it is an umbrella term. Raqs Baladi means "Native Dance" or "country dance" & can be applied in many ways including to a rhythm called Masmoudi kabir/sagir. For info on dance styles you can visit my website references page, click on history. You will find a full description of Baladi & Saidi there.
