Playing the Stars and Stripes Forever on the tire pump is one of the most hilarious things you'll ever see. It's doubtful you'll ever see this kind of act ever emerge again; it's a postcard from an age long since past.
I understand that Vaudevillians typically had only one routine because they traveled so much to new venues that they didn't need new material very often. The constant honing, refining, and polishing their one act to a perfection that would go on doing traveling so helps explain the amazing result.
It's alright. Willie Hall truly was one of the unknown greats of the vaudville era, and was commonly mistaken for Charlie Chaplin, so it's really not surprising anymore...
There was so much talent and varied skills in Vaudeville. This is a great representation of the deep pool of talent that entertained us before radio, TV, and um, this.

It's so incredible that, at first sight, I thought it was a fake (playback).
But no, it seems he's really playing !!

But Mr. Chaplin was left handed? Is he Mr. Chaplin?
ahmadjawadi 4 years ago

Imaginación esa es la cuestión, aunque al final el premio sea tan duro. Genial generación de cómicos, Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd..Magnificos.

And I now find myself longing for the olden days.
Its amazing how such simple objects can be so awesome, even today in a world made of silicon and false empathy.
