Hey everyone. I figured this would be the best place to post this as this is the first RoE video on youtube. For those who don't know me, I was Malyce from the phoenix server. I'm real life friends with Sere Solace and a few other members from SotD guild. I just recently finished college with a degree in the computer sciences and a degree in engineering, and have a bit of extra money and am looking to buy and revive RoE, and rebuild it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I loved this game. When it peaked in around 2005. The servers was so full there would be a massive queue for people just to get on Halberd. It only died because none of the Devs would update it and too many high level players walked around like they owned the place scaring off any new potensial players.

My, how do I miss this game. True that the community was too small for the game to feel multiplayer online, and that the graphics were outdated, but the game system felt really unique, you could really make your character your way.

One can only hope it will eventually come back, even if overhauled.

I remember when this game started as a MUD. I played it when it was in development in the Cancun phase as a beta tester. I don't like what it's become. The combat is not real time, it's turn based. It has a small, close community. The Staff is very anal. No swearing, flaming, or talking back of any kind or you are muted. Sometimes they forget to un-mute or un-ban players as well. They are also active in game and let the power get to their heads. I know them all very well, trust my words.

This game survived the same way as cricket or chess or MTG... this game need something more then just items and high lvl toon... the player need to know what to do and even with that you could be killed because of 1 tick mistake... you had to know the game... one player could wiped out whole party same lvl players....

TRU Is not the best graph and is not the only mmorpg but IMO it is one of not many games which will never die. I met plenty of friends in there and I will never forget them. There's always going to be a small amount of defenders for something like this no matter how god awful - my opinion is that is because of some personal enjoyment that particular vocal person found that most will never even imagine. A lot of folks are looking for mmos these days - this isn't going to be it - maybe 10 years ago as an alternative to EQ1 MAYBE.

You may be right.... it is not what kids with quad core and 10GB ram are looking for and i will never make any1 to play however is good idea to try everything.... there are game portals and check scores on charts, You can read newspaper and magazines and all you can do is try and either love it or leave it

Rather closed-minded of you. Heck, incredibly simplistic browser games are becoming more popular than the huge budget polished games you pay $50 more on release.

The graphics aren't great, but even WoW's graphics are incredibly amateur compared with its competitors. Hasn't stopped it from becoming the most popular MMO out there.

RoE's biggest drawback is its small playerbase. Considering it's generally free to play, it's really a pretty decent game, there's just few to play with.
