Wyatt... I speak to you as one who did not believe in this church for 1/2 his life, even though he was born into it. The gospel teaches that we are here because we cannot know light without knowing darkness. I promise you that if you pray to know whether or not the church is true and are sincere you will feel different. I did, and it changed me. I shouldn't have had that feeling of clarity that day when I asked God if he even existed or the other experiences that I had on my mission.
Look Clark, Wyatt. THe wonderful thing about our Church is that we are allowed to phillosophise about technicalities and inconsistencies within what the church directs the members to do, and how the members actually do behave. However, this church from the start has been preaching that God speaks through Prophets. The church will not change its' doctrines based on public opinion. You two know this now, that eventually you will hit the doctrine wall. You do need to decide where you stand.
I know where I stand. I know that the Mormon church is false, so while I'm happy for all the good things it gave me, I'm not going to stay in a false religion nor am I going to stand for it when they actively discriminate against me. That's hardly a wonderful church.
I don't see how the Church can say a Child is not OK if raised by gays because they would be missing the key element of a Mother or Father when there are plenty of single parents in the Church. I think to be raised in a loving environment is the most important thing and since sexuality is something you are born with I don't see how Gay parents can harm a child
Hmmm... religious constructural evaluation... Could that popcorn not be put into better use? :-)) Well, atleast ya gave it a try. BTW - Does one truly need to give the LDS church any further recognition?.. just a thought...

I can't help but being so proud of you my friends! The world you will be
"out" in is a far less hostile place than that which I came out in as a boy!
When I was not yet 18, I met and fell in love with a boy named Bobby
Griffith(Prayers for Bobby).

His family at the time was dogmatically
religious, and the pain of the closet was unbearable for him. He took
his own life in 1983! Thankfully that was a long time ago and much has
changed. Things are happening for LGBT people today, the likes of
which Bobby and I could never conceive!

We're not quite there yet, but full inclusion is within sight!
It thrills me to know that you will be able to lead an authentic life as
a gay man, and will even likely be able to marry the person whom you
love, if you so choose!
Yeah!!!!
May G-D Bless You!
