This wasn't the Leafs best team in the last 44 years, the 2002 Leafs were like the 86 and 93 Habs, they were good, but relied heavily on goaltending and if it weren't for Joseph they'd have been gone 2 round. The same could be said about the Habs in 86 and 93, if not for Roy they'd be out very early.

Firing Pat Quinn was the BIGGEST mistake the Leafs ever made in my recent memory. We have not made the playoffs since then. If Wilson doesn't work out, Burke should seriously consider bringing Quinn back. He's proven that he knows how to handle young players (remember the World Junior Hockey Championship 3 years ago he won Gold). And the Leafs are a young team.

Pat Quinn has also won an Olympic Gold Medal for Canada (we forget 2002 so quickly?). In addition to that (and the World Juniors), he won the World Cup of Hockey in 2004.. He's won NHL coach of the year at least twice. He's won everything under the sun BUT the Stanley Cup Pat Quinn is the most underrated NHL coach. Ferguson should have been fired, NOT Quinn.

Firing Pat Quinn was the BIGGEST mistake the Leafs ever made in my recent memory. We have not made the playoffs since then. If Wilson doesn't work out, Burke should seriously consider bringing Quinn back. He's proven that he knows how to handle young players (remember the World Junior Hockey Championship 3 years ago he won Gold). And the Leafs are a young team.
Bring Pat Quinn back.

Not saying it was Quinn's fault, but, why didn't the Oilers bring him back if Quinn is as good as you say he is. And it's easy to coach a handful of games in the World Juniors, but how 'bout doing it over a full NHL season? There is a difference.
The Leafs will eventually make the playoffs again soon, regardless of who's coaching.

@ckendall67 The comparison to the 09-10 Oilers is a joke. They would have been dead last even if Punch Imlach had coached that team. Pat Quinn has also won an Olympic Gold Medal for Canada (we forget 2002 so quickly?). In addition to that (and the World Juniors), he won the World Cup of Hockey in 2004.. He's won NHL coach of the year at least twice. He's won everything under the sun BUT the Stanley Cup Pat Quinn is the most underrated NHL coach. Ferguson should have been fired, NOT Quinn.

@StandUpForCanada1867 well said StandUp. 100% agree. Quinn is the last good coach the leafs have had. The 2010 Oilers had Hemsky injured and were easily the worst team in hockey, not Quinn's fault at all. From what I hear, the leaf players liked him and I don't doubt it.
