"Fair" elections is just protectionism in the political market. Those who can't compete don't wanna work for it; they want a handout and to limit competition.
Money is not everything!! Stop believing that it is, esp. without proof. You really think noncompetitive elections have anything to do with money? Jesus christ. It's about credibility in the eyes of voters. And the fact that incumbents have a lot more experience, and voters don't like to take chances on newbies very often. Esp. compared to politicians they like who have given them results time and again.
Fuck your "fair" elections bullshit. Campaign finance reform is based on so many fallacies it's not even funny. Have you even SEEN a study on campaign finance reform, Yoon? Or are you just saying talking points?
We've been doing campaign finance reform and strict limits at hte federal level since 1974!! Obviously it hasn't worked, and it's not hard to see why. Lol. A $25 limit on mayoral funding?? What nonsense!
This is the bogus theory that money rules all. Please.
ya know I find it interesting that city employees (ie., Streetworkers) were out campaigning for the incumbent, mayor Menino, during hours they should have been working with Boston's "at-risk' youth. Is this an example of abusing power or simply incestuous?
