i planned to play this song for my grade 8 that time, but when i realised that it's a nice song, it was too late...so i sticked to the Impromptu, but this song will always be in my heart...
very good! bravo. Just a hint if you want to get the piece just perfect, near the end, the left hand is suppose to sound more, as it is the structural melody.
Smithsherman - have pity on this 17 year old girl - who is doing beautifully. I know of no serious pedagogue (regarless of how much tubato they use in their own playing), who would give such advice to a student at this stage of development.
("STRETCH-EMPHASIZE-SHOUT-ROMANTIC")??? - Are you mad?
"as I feel your soul yearning to be"??? - Beware, Smithsherman, lest the You Tube police get after you...(Not surprised you included the disclaimer: "I mean this with full RESPECT".
P.S. I didn't forget about the lecture I owe you. I'll get to it soon - it seems more urgent now than ever. The best, Lourak

Dear Lydia,I feel like you are trying to approach
this music like the famous pupils of Clara Schumann
(DeLara and Eibenschutz)did in their recordings 100 years ago...but are being
constrained by a more contemporary view of what
this music can be.Their recordings are in a
record (Pearl Records) called "The Students
of Clara Schumann".I wonder how your playing
would develop,if you listened to this a little
everyday? Part 1

Just to let you know. Great job though.

More specifically,I liked every idea that you had
here but felt that you were muttering them.
I would be in ectasy to hear you stretch them,
emphasize them,shout them...in short...be ROMANTIC
in the full meaning of the word...as I feel
your soul yearning to be.I mean this with full
respect, but perchance it is that your teacher(s)
is imposing a sense of propriety on you that
didn't exist in the living tradition of this
music 100 years ago.Your fan,Smith
