What I love about Brian is he writes truth. He takes from his experiences. He once said in an interview in response to a question asking his thoughts on people comparing him to a young Bruce Springsteen that while he respected Springsteen and loved his songwriting, he could never understand how Bruce could write such meaningful songs about some topics he hadn't experienced firsthand. I love both artists, but I'm amazed at how real Brian is. Watch his acoustic performances and you'll get it.
This to me is such a Bruce song. The little guitar parts after the verses sounds like "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" or that country type in "Outlaw Pete". But this band is amazing and I cant wait for "American Slang". Glad to see these guys and "The Hold Steady" are keeping rock alive.
I love the way they did the outro!! Theyre just always good. They're the only band of the decade to write and record something like 30 songs without ONE of them being bad.
@rikirockstar I've said the same thing. They're not my favorite band (though they're very up there), but they're the only band I can think of with not a single bad song.
Rosamilia on Fallon's left? Huh.

“My first sin: a young America girl, a fear that made me old, a lie I told the world…”
Sometimes when listening to the stories others tell I began to understand myself.

I know, right?! And the fact they're going back into the studio without breaking is mindblowing. I can't fucking wait.
