Beirut is the most inspiring and beautiful band ever heard. The music changes the atmosphere, you live in another world for a few minutes, you feel like another person. Sadly, I don't know anyone in my environment, who listens to Beirut, but I must honestly say, that I enjoy it to listen alone.

I saw Beirut at the Electric Factory in philly on sunday night. Most emotional, best concert I've ever been to. To finally be in a room with people who feel the same way I do abuot their music was refreshing.

St Apollonia is the title of the song, nothing to do with the "freguesia" in Lisbon, the video was shot on the waterfront of Brooklyn, N.Y. It's the Brooklyin bridge you see in the background, not the Ponte do 25 abril - and there's a whole metropolis behind, not the small Cacilhas :D

I heard Beirut today for the first time ever from recommendation of my cousin in Mexico...I love it. This band reminds me of the Catalonian band 'Manel', the songs have the same feel, emotional rollercoaster, and awkward but delicious world feel. Manel songs: Roma, Boomerang, Anniversari, Dona Estrangera, etc.
