Whether it's more appropriate for a public building than a home, the architecture & construction quality of this building are very, very good. They dont make buildings like this anymore (unfortunately) & the attention to detail is impeccable. But $125 million is overpriced. Probably bc they were very picky about materials (like a very specific limestone), the antique furniture, and the totally unnecessary gold trims everywhere. Then again, if you're a filthy rich bastard w/money to waste....

Sounds a little like sour grapes. I agree the host description is not correct, but the house is magnificent. If you would have ever spent time there and knew the owners and how and where they acquired the antiques, you would feel differently.

I think perhaps you fail to realise that i study architecture and have had as my main interest since i was about eleven french eightenth century architecture... so i probabely see the house better than you in many ways even though i haven't had the pleasure to visit. I actually used to make designs for eightenth century houses as a child :).

If you know the owner, tell her to get in touch and i'll help her redecorate ;) , i gotz the know how...
