  • Another point of authority the Gunny has over the Lieutenant... He is acting as a Range Safety Officer and therefore outranks the Lieutenant at that time...

  • lets get something straight BY RANK the SNCO has to answer to the LT but u cant just have a butter bar coming in and giving orders there has to be respect but if it was a combat situation the 2nd LT would be incharge more than the SNCO

  • @JRandTanner Technically yes, but if I were under command of a new 2nd Lt., I much rather follow the gunny into combat. Never know how the new guy is going to react to combat. If you've seen Band Of Brothers, on episode 7, Lt. Dike is a good example.

  • @TriviumShogun2008 The true question is would you rather have a expirenced gunny or a expierence Captain. Both are infantry and both have been in for 10 years. Thats the question.

  • @McDogginified Both.

  • When I told my friend I was working on going to OCS he flat out told me that no matter how good of a second lt I am, or how good of a Marine I am, I will still be an idiot to the SNCO's because I'll just be another dumb kid and, as he wisely put it 'In the Corps respect isnt by rank, its by experience, so keep your mouth shut and your head down'

  • The awkward moment when you realize that gunny haney played by gary sweet also played the role of don bradman in the series bodyline.

  • Man I learned this the same way when I was a kid with my dad, used an M1 Carbine too

  • Appointment is higher than rank!

  • The three dumbest people in the Military (I was an Infantry Sgt BTW). E-2 Private. They just came out of Basic and don't know shit. A Butterbar Lt. Because they just became officers and think they know EVERYTHING and don't know shit. A Major, because he can smell that Colonel rank so bad he can taste it, and will do Stoopid shit to get it. The ranks I respect most ? E-7, Because they EARNED it and Captain, because they survived being an LT and now they are leaders.

  • It is always good to avoid friendly fire.

  • He's in command of the range so ranks dont matter

  • I wonder how Gunny Haney is able to walk carrying those nuts?

  • @StonewallJackson26 Hey you fuckin keep jockey

  • @StonewallJackson26 Oh for fucks sake.. jeep jockey* lol.

  • What does Gunny Haney say to the Lieutenant when we first approaches him?

  • @Larsulrichfan14 "You stupid, goddamn _______ son of a bitch"

  • @Larsulrichfan14 I think he's saying "shame tail" I've never heard it before but that's what I assume he's saying.

  • @harkriz415

He is saying "shave tail." It means the person is just starting out

in his profession and is a rookiie.

  • @NewWaveTH Oh, I didn't know that. Well.... you learn something new every day.

  • if you read sledgehammers book, you will see that Haney was crazier than what you see in the Pacific,Awsome book

  • Shut up with all the disrespect to new Lieutenants. Officers have the biggest responsiblity in the Military. Our job is to make sure you return to your familys and loved ones. Your life depends on the descisions WE make not you. One little slip up and your life is ended in a heart beat. The officer has to think about that everytime he leads or organizes a mission. P.S. Privates are the excat same as Lts except a Lt has to be able to lead a platoon not follow it. Get that through your skulls!

  • @McDogginified You really expect the Marine wannabes hanging around youtube to have the maturity or understanding to respect officers?

  • @mpaulino

Need some Blackwater Bad Asses there to show them

    how it's done!!!

  • @mpaulino When an Officer speaks like this there is no respect. You can respect the rank, but the man wearing it has to earn the respect of his command.

    Semper Fi !!

  • @McDogginified

Send in a platoon of Blackwater mercenaries if you really

    want to kick ass!!!

  • @McDogginified WOW! That sure is one high horse you are on. Boot looeys get more men killed unless the listen and learn from NCOs and Staff NCOs. Quite frankly, who do you think leads once the officer is dead, which is a real concern for Lts and Capt due to their closeness to battle. That's right...an enlisted man. Even the Army teaches that. I can see that no one ever taught you humility. Glad you aren't leading my unit with that attitude.

    Semper Fi !

  • @0341MarineInfantry I don't know where the fuck you came from. But I don't have a attitude. I never said the Officers were like gods. I said we need them to plan, lead and organize missions. Everytime a soldier dies I'm the one who has to have it recorded in the book. I'm the one that get yells at by my surpriors because of some fuck up Pvt, or a NCO does something stupid. I'm the one that has the highest responisbilty in my company because your life depends on the disicsion I make you idiot.

  • @McDogginified Maybe you should reread your own post. You came out of the gate barking and blowing your own horn. That is your job mister...if you can't hack it, then get your jacket. Decisions you make...yada yada. You think you're the only one that has to make decisions that may or may not cost lives, bet the guy above you would like to hear your whining. Bet you are highly thought of.

  • @0341MarineInfantry I don't need your shit Devil Dick. I lead a platoon of Airborne soldiers in to Sad'vir city. I never thought of myself as a king, those soldiers weren't my "Slaves". Yes I learned my shit from my NCOs hell even from PFCs who had a little combat in them. Alot of infantry officers I know always lead from the front before they are reassinged to Admid work. The difference between a NCOs and officers is that a officer has a helleva alot higher repsonsiblity then you can think.

  • @McDogginified I know full well the responsibilities of an infantry officer. Never underestimate the man on the other keyboard or rifle. It is the job of a good infantry officer to lead from the front, but not the front line. As I said, respect for officers is earned by action, not by rank.

Thank you for your service. Your road is hard. Respect.

    Semper Fi !

  • @0341MarineInfantry Respect to you aswell. Glad we came to a understanding.

  • man...a commission should come with experience.....

  • damn, that boot-enant would have to come back with a couple Japanese heads if he wants to earn back any shred of the respect he just forfeited with that mistake.

  • Rank don't mean shit the moment you step on a live firing range and start waving your gun like a douchebag. The Gunny was in the Core before the Lieutenant's father grew his first pubic hair.

  • @IamDayoldHate1 I think you mean Corp? :')

  • @666BrotherofMetal

    No, he means Corps

  • @cenge309 Whupde doo you can add an "S".

  • Gun Control with Sargent Haney:

Lesson 1) You keep your fucking weapon pointed downrange or I'll shove that fucking piece up your sorry fucking ass!

  • 0 people had a colt 45. shoved up thier ass

  • @ww2guy100 you mean a colt .45 not a 45.

  • @mezlay2 yeah i get the dots confused

  • Doesn't a Lieutenant outrank a Gunnery Sergeant? But considering that the Captain in charge condoned it, and the Gunny is more experienced, would he just get away with it?

  • @locutusofborg278 A Lieutenant definitely outranks a Gunnery Sergeant, but no sane individual is going to tell the Gunny that.

  • @locutusofborg278 pretty much if your a dumbass officer like that your gonna get your ass chewed out at any rank. ever watch generation kill? sgt kocher tells one of the officers to his face he will fuck him up if he fires another enemy weapon. so if your being a dumbass officer endangering your men they know they deserve it.

  • @locutusofborg278 Its his range.

  • @locutusofborg278 Of course...hes the gunny

  • @locutusofborg278 Usually that doesn't happen but that must be a very new 2nd Lieutenant. If the superior condoned it then I guess it is ok since if the2nd Lieutenant wanted to file something he would probably have to go to the superior anyway.

  • @locutusofborg278 Pretty much,,, especially in the days of ww2 where experienced ncos were rare and boot officers were a dime a dozen.,

  • @locutusofborg278 A Lieutenant does, technically, but a Gunnery Sergeant is an experienced veteran, so commands more respect.

However, because a Gunnery Sergeant is such a high rank they would both call each other "Sir". Which reminds me of a joke.

New Officer: "I understand we call each other Sir".

    Sgt. "Thats right Sir."

Officer: "SO then what's the difference between us?"

Sgt. : "When you say Sir, you mean it."

  • @Thwacker71 :D

  • I would've beat his face to a pulp if he had aimed that gun in my direction.

  • he would scare the shit out of me. I plan on joining the marines soon.

  • That's one cool legend of a Gunny.
