  • love thie Miami Vice look they have here LOL

  • Happy belated birthday Daryl Hall, he turned 65 on 10/22/2011

  • Never understood why John Oates was there.

Wouldn't it have been great if, it had been Daryl Hall and Todd Rundgren all these years..! - WOW ! - The thought of it..!

  • @Clayton139 Well if it were not for John there would be no She's Gone, Out Of Touch or Maneater (just to name a few). Its a simplistic view to think that John didnt add any value to the duo....otherwise why would Daryl have kept him around all these years. John is a very talented guy. Just listen to Daryl's solo albums are you can here a totally different style (although I like those too).

  • He sings like he's from Philly...;-))

  • Fantastic Video! Hugs!

  • Great voice !!! Love Daryl !!!

  • Even with the prerecoded music, he can still sing well...no autotune, no lipsyncing, no bullshit...Justin Timberlake, THIS IS HOW ITS DONE!!!! :)

  • you can tell they're not used to doing the song this slow

they always up the tempo for their live shows

  • Why did they have to lip synch this performance? also shitty move not giving GE a solo spot for this! thats the highlight of the song- his tasty riffs in there! theres a live performance somewhere from maybe a month before this that showcases that at least

  • Short lesson in audio: what you are hearing is a recording of live vocals over a backing track. The singers have no control over the levels of their mics in the mix that is broadcast to the TV watching audience. This mix is usually very different from what the audience hears live. This is a TERRIBLE broadcast mix.

  • I think the vocals are superb here actually - singing over such a quiet sounding backing track really highlights how hard Daryl's singing and carrying the performance. Yeah he goes off a bit here and there, but that's just normal LIVE stuff with no cheating auto-tune like singers nowadays. What a great pair of talented guys! (That audience should have buggered off home to play chess if they wanted to just sit like statues and stare!)

  • I REMEMBER this... (I remember saying to everyone "did your see Hall and Oates last night? They sounded really clunky doing the m-e-t-h-o-d o-f- l-o-v-e" part.)

  • The Daryl Hall's vocals improved over the years, simply because he sings a lot more relaxed than he did the.... For him the development of age was a plus more than a minus. RIP "T-Bone" one of the greatest bass players to ever pick a bass guitar.

  • Singing over the recorded tracks doesn't work for them. To be live they need to play live.

  • Daryl is working his arse off and the crowd are just sitting there like dummies !!! That's the problem when it's not a proper 'Hall & Oates' concert, if the room was full

of true fans they would all be up dancing and singing. The acoustics didn't sound too great either. Still a great perfomance though...

  • @dianel42 I know right...they performed their asses off and like the crowd was afraid to break ettiquette...smh...Oh well H &O had fun...

  • @dianel42 Yeah, it's like he's singing to a bunch of dead people. True H&O fans would never act like that!

  • I haven't seen this since Jan 1985 and been looking for this AMA perf for yrs..Thank you IMMENSELY debandana..

  • Great performance; wooden, unresponsive crowd!

  • @SandyCou they were probably in awe of such talent. as i stated above wouldve been way better as a straight up live performance- what a screwjob for them, thats show business for ya

  • hot

  • Great performance of one of the best songs. Love the 80s hair and Daryl and John's moves. Thanks for posting.
