  • I just know I'm going to get my arse chewed out on this one, but I'm going to say what I think anyways, so crucify me.

This has got to be the stupidest propaganda commercial I've seen, to be honest. It talks about a "home" of John McCain's, tries to get the viewer's sympathy by pointing out he was a POW. The issue I'm having with this commercial? A prison camp is not a home, a home is someplace someone voluntarily lives. Prison, not a home. Commercial's argument, null and void.

  • Since when was being a POW a good thing for presidential candidates. It seems to me that the guy who didn't endure torture might be the safer candidate. I know soldiers who went to Vietnam who weren't tortured but were profoundly affected for the rest of their lives. I would think those that were tortured might be in worse shape. He's not a general who won a war for our country, and so much of our current wars are fought with the press of a button that the 'warrior' card can't be played anymore.

  • And granted, Obama may not be the perfect candidate, in fact I may be voting Ron Paul, but the choices that we have are extremely limited. Currently it is hard for many to believe in the Republican product. I am for small government and cutting the pork, but I am against what seems like a war-like party both because killing innocents is wrong, and because it serves to weaken our economy. Not only this, but it seems like the Republican Party has been corrupted by fundamental social conservatives.

  • No doubt, one can look at Obama's economic plan and see that it does look like class warfare, but currently many people are losing their homes/life savings and Obama's plan will help many of these people. Jobs are hard to find right now, and many Americans are unwilling/unable to work for the lowered wage it would take to hire workers in this country due to the rampant outsourcing which has gone on in this country.

  • elektek - It isn't about liberal or conservative, it's about what is right and what is wrong. You're bashing of the left shows that you too have been corrupted by the rhetoric of the two major parties in this country. On the subject of houses, it is relevant. Many people are losing the 1 home they own, while McCain doesn't even know how many he owns. This shows the wide disparity between McCain's own life, and understanding the needs of the American people. Leftist charade...hrumph.

  • McCain was not tortured, he was subject to "enhanced interrogation". Everything thing he experienced has been done by this country to "enemy combatants" and non-combatants held for years without charge and without trial. As GWB said, "we do not torture". If that is true, then neither was McCain tortured.

  • McCain: "Obama's a fancy-pants elitist!"

Obama: "Uhh you're the one with like 7 mansions"

McCain: "I was a POW! I earned my right to be a hypocritical douche!"

This ad is one of the most pathetic things I've seen from this election so far.

  • I think McCain's supporters make a fair point here - Obama does have a bit of a cheek making snarky comments about McCain's housing situation when he spent five years in a Communist prison cell. As much is might be a pain in the ass to concede the moral high ground Democrats are oh-so fond of claiming and acknowledge that Obama has never been called upon to make a similar sacrifice or had his character has tested in a similar situation, it's a fact.

  • What does the number of houses that John McCain and his wife own have to do with him being President? Would you prefer to elect a homeless person to the highest office in the land or elect someone who is successful? This leftist charade is nothing but Marxist class warfare and playing to the envy that resides in all humans and it is wrong.

Also, does ANYONE really believe that the wealthy people like Obama,Kennedy,Biden, Bush, Liberman etc.are going to pass tax laws that will hurt themselves?NO

  • Fuck John McCain and the stupid bitch he picked for a VP.

  • Ah, spoken like another "tolerant" liberal!(LOL)

  • To any gaffe, to any serious issue, a noun, a verb, and POW. He should have chosen Rudy.

  • and they should have held the convention on 9/11. At ground zero. With Bush giving a keynote speech atop a recreated pile of rubble.

  • ok so am i supposed to pity him enough to vote for him because of this? why would i vote for somebody who was probably beaten and tortured until he was (and still is) absolutely insane? why would somebody who has experienced war in such a horrible way want to be in an unnecessary war, and have our soldiers killed for no cause? that is insanity in my book, and we dont need anymore lunatics in office. the bush's were more than enough.

  • Hard to believe this is the same man who tried to derail the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Oh wait, we're not supposed to talk about that.

  • John McCain was a POW? Wow, we'd better vote him in! Who better to support our troops?

What? The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a D+ and Obama a B+? And McCain voted with the interests of Disabled American Veterans only 20 percent of the time?

Oh...well, I'm sure the troops want him to win for his honorable service!

Wait, Obama receives six times as much money in donations from troops deployed abroad?

The troops don't support McCain...because he doesn't support them.

  • OH MY GOD HE'S A FRICKIN POW O_________O

that means we HAVE to elect him

  • He was a POW?! Holy shit I didn't know!

  • A NOUN,A VERB,POW

    ASK RUDI

  • A NOUN,A VERB,POW

    ASK RUDI

  • A NOUN,A VERB,POW

    ASK RUDI

  • A NOUN,A VERB,POW

    ASK RUDI

  • To all you christfags bawwing in the comments about random fucking shit nobody cares about:

God is the ridiculous manifestation of mankind's inability to accept the finite and ultimately meaningless nature of his own existence.

Take your religious garbage, shove it up your ass, and keep it out of our politics.

  • Well...let me ask you this Spaz, would you rather believe in God and find out there is none, or not believe in God and find out there is.....

  • Yet another comment from those "tolerant" leftist atheists. Are they not the kind of people that you want leading the country? I just feel all that "compassion" for others that they are ALWAYS driveling about. One does not have to stick ones head in a sewer to know that it stinks and neither do we need to elect a socialist/leftist/progressive/communist to know that these people are not what we need in this country and are very dangerous people. look no further than Underground Bill Ayers!

  • Wow. I didn't know John McCain was a prisoner of war. I can see why, considering how reluctant he is to bring it up.

  • the next time barack obama brings up a valid point regarding john mccain being out of touch with the working class, remember that HOLY SHIT JOHN MCCAIN WAS TORTURED 40 YEARS AGO

  • Thanks for the laugh SC GOP.

    - Former Republican

  • was John McCain a POW? I'm not sure. I wish someone would clarify whether he was a POW or not. its like everyone is completely avoiding the subject.

  • A POW who left his wife for a rich broad who abused drugs. Republicans 2008!

  • "This is the story on the pathetic approach the Republicans will use in an attempt to win the White House, by portraying McCain as a poor, unfortunate soul who suffered during his honorable service to his country, BUT NOW owns 10 mansions and JUST HEARD one of the greatest speeches in American history."

  • Too pathetic to be laughable. Hey, Grandpa, while you've been jetting around the country to your multiple mansions paid for by your sugar mama, the REST of us have been in our OWN prison for the past 7.5 years, and our jailer has been GEORGE W. BUSH!

  • POW POW POW POW POW POW POW

McCain needs to get his head check. His continual use of his service to avoid addressing real issues is an embarrassment to the other 600 POWs who served.

Guess what, McCain? We've all been POW's for the last 7 years -- Prisoners of W.

  • OUCH... That's going to leave a mark... Speaking of homes, isn't it rather ironic that the so-called "Champion of the Poor" has a brother and grandmother that live in shacks with no running water or electricity while he spends several million dollars on his Temple-for-a-day?

  • Speaking of homes if Obama helps the US as much as he helps his own brother with his home... a shack in an African slum then we are in big trouble.

  • Yeah he was a 40 POW FORTY years ago but then he cheated on his wife with a filthy rich pill popper. She and her daddy helped buy him into politics. POW not a free pass to the white house.

  • A year in the senate and rather thin experience as a street organizer isn't a free pass to the White House either. But maybe in this day and age with values sunk so low, Barack's puny resume is a ticket to the White House. Pity our poor country if that is the case. We'll see in November.

  • This "experience" angle you morons keep pushing is pretty flimsy considering Abraham Lincoln had less political experience when he entered the white house than Barack Obama does right now.

  • Oh yes. And the democrats are so holy and true, cough, EDWARDS and CLINTON, to their families.

Obama has no experience to be Commander in Chief. This is a reminder and it really irks Obama's mindless congregation. I am not calling you unpatriotic!/s/

  • "they all want to destroy America as we have traditionally known it"

That's what change means. America isn't pure and perfect in every way. Some people aren't in love with all of the problems it has, and will face. Not everyone wants to sustain the problems forever and ever for posterity.

"they all want the United States to retreat in the war"

    Good. War sucks.

  • No, my dear. When we have different ideas in America, they should have the same basic principles behind them: freedom and prosperity. Destroying those basic principles is by definition unAmerican.

I suggest you read up on it.

  • You need to get your head checked. As if Bush hasn't been leading the country with his own agenda over the last 8 years and not bringing the rest of the country down with him?

What makes McCain such a great leader? He's missed 2/3 of the Senate votes alone this year (or 400+). He cheated on his wife. He is a fraud and has voted with Bush 95% of the time.

Wait until you lose your job and your health insurance. Do you think McCain will really care? No.

  • Weak. Since when does being a POW give you the freedom to do whatever you want? On the Last Day, is God going to look into the book of acts and see "POW" and excuse every other sin?

    Should we?

  • ** On the Last Day, is God going to look into the book of acts and see "POW" and excuse every other sin? **

Owning seven homes is a sin? This is what you're implying.

  • When some people have none? Yeah, it is.

  • ** When some people have none? Yeah, it is. **

So just because a person exists, they are owed a home, even if they don't work hard for anything?

  • Well, didn't Jesus say that it will be as hard for a rich man to get into Heaven as it is to get a camel through the eye of a needle?

    Ignorance is certainly a sin.

  • Obamas brothers home is like that one

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • whoa whoa

    whoa

    whoa slow down now

john mccain was a pow? this is news, news to me

  • Whoa. I didn't know McCain used to go overseas and kill random Vietnamese people in the name of expanding US investment opportunities in the third world. Thanks video!

  • A NOUN, A VERB, AND A POW

John McCain can choke on a dick. Leaning this hard on his time as a POW marginalizes what soldiers do for their country.

  • But you support the troops, right?

  • God, I hate that fucking phrase. Let me put it this way: The last four generations of my family have fought for this country. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't want what was best for American soldiers. That's why I don't want to see John McCain in the white house.

  • As long as you support the troops. Or at least say that you do. McCain/Palin '08.

  • Voting McCain/Palin to support the troops?

    Does not compute.

  • The dumber the message, the further it travels. The GOP are masters at this.

Obama is very intelligent, Harvard and Princeton grad, I feel like he has a hard time 'dumbing down' his message to a couple of sound bites like the GOP does.

  • Perhaps if he told us what his message IS we'd have an easier time understanding it.

  • And then you came home, found your wife sick and disabled, and left her for a beer baroness. Where's the honor in that? What does that say about your character?

  • So how is this related to your presidency?

  • THREAD$HITLER

  • this is worse than "the race card": talk about stifling discourse. look, McSame can't remember how many homes he owns and what kind of car he drove last year: this is not the guy you want, trying to remember at 3 am where he put the telephone!

  • POW POW POW

    Legitmate critici-POW

  • he was tortured for 5 years? that must mean he loves america more and better suited to be president

  • Doesn't make him qualified to be president or make his owning seven fucking houses any less fucking shameful.

  • Wow...John McCain was a POW for 5 years...I'll never question him on anything again.

GOD BLESS THE USA GOD SPEED JOHN MCCAIN MCCAIN/LIBERBMAN 08

  • oh man i never knew McCain was a prisoner of war

  • And this is relevant because...?

  • Remember that John Mccain is a Vietnam Veteran. Just like that guy who sits on the street every day with a cup and is barely able to handle a toaster let alone an entire country.

  • i really wish they had executed him on the spot for napalming civilians

  • a noun, a verb, and POW

  • It's really a shame that the GOP is taking such an admirable personal moment in John McCain's life, and turning into such a cheap political tactic.

  • he deserves respect and admiration for that, but it doesn't make him a good candidate.

besides - that was 30 years ago - dumping your injured wife for a multi-millionaire heiress and living the high-life (his is Washington's biggest celebrity, after all) for decades will change a person. hell, he's exhibit 'A'.

  • what about ohnoyoudin . com ?

  • McCain = experienced because he is a POW

Guiliani = experienced because he was in NYC on 9/11

Bush = experienced because of a last name.

    Weak arguements.

  • Guiliani would have had a better shot if he didn't run on 9/11 and instead ran on turning NYC around.

  • But where are my peepshows? I want my peepshows back.

  • oops...PEEP SHOWS. : )

  • A noun, a verb and POW

  • There's another home that McCain won't ever get to have in his life.

    The White House.

He'll have to make due with his other 7.

    - Former Republican

  • Sorry rightwing nuts, John McCain has flip flopped on torture: Google Intelligence Authorization Bill and McCain. John McCain: He was against waterboarding before he was for it.

  • Republicans are the first to criticize anything Obama says about religion, his own or others. If they aren't calling him a muslim with a sneer on their face, they are judging him for being a bad Christian. If they aren't judging his Christianity, they are calling him the new Jesus. The negativity is too much, the hypocrisy is obvious, and voter's with an IQ over room temp don't fall for it.

    - Former Republican

  • Have you forgotten Jeremiah Wright. His haughty hubris is the reason for the "one" jokes. It's self-evident.

How is this hypocritical? Nancy Pelosi spouting Catholic doctrine on abortion. That's hypocritical and heretical.

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. And I'll IQ fight you or any liberal any day. You just don't know.

  • OOh scary. I know enough to know that youtube commenters are hardly worth the effort. Have you ever seen the average IQ by state data overlayed with a red state / blue state map? Trust me, SC wasn't up there in the high IQ / Blue state range.

  • So only high IQ people vote for libs??

Ask any con man. Those are the easiest to swindle. Just ask collectivists are doing this very day.

Liberal elistism at it's finest. Change the world to reduce competition because they just can't compete and win. So make now winners just those in control and those being controlled. And you're so smart. You would be doing the controlling.

    Asinine.

  • google search "iq and politics"

  • Typical Republican politics... attack the messenger, it takes attention away from the actual message. Character assasination. Repeat things over and over. First it was 9/11, 9/11, WMD, WMD, now its POW, POW. Gets those sheep in line.

    - Former republican

  • This is stupid. I wish McCain would stop focusing all of his negative energy on Obama, but since his policies and proposals are all crap, it's all he has to run on.

  • This is a reply from the SC GOP, not McCain. And is in response to the Obamessiah's house envy of John McCain. (Notice I didn't say Rezko envy)

  • Yes, so obviously you couldn't stick with the same point as I proved you wrong. Funny how you can't explain why McCain is SO SENILE, that he has to ask his staff how many houses he owns. Being a POW doesn't answer the question, dumbass.

  • So I assume you point is "his policies and proposals are all crap."

Ok. Tax cuts for everyone not just special people: Not crap. Stay as long as needed in Iraq: Not crap. Deal with Russia from position of strength: Not crap. Appoint constructivist supreme court justices: Not crap.

Need I go on. Oh yeah, believes in capitalism unlike "the one." NOT CRAP!

  • You're a dumbass, McCain's tax cuts are for the top not the middle or bottom. Retard if anything if you actually READ their policies (if you know how to read), the middle class gets more a tax cut under Obama's plan than McCain's. Yeah Stay as long as "needed" when the Iraqi government wants us out by 2011, yeah real smart dumbass. Yeah deal with Russia - I can see how well that was done when Russia has not left Georgia yet. What are you going to do attack Moscow??

  • The top 10% of wage earners pay about 90% of the income tax. Tax the top earners more and they'll work less. Create less jobs. Especially if you raise taxes on small businesses who pay their taxes on a 1040 form. That's what BHO wants to do. Where do jobs come from? ECON 101.

If 2011 is as long as needed, then 2011. But don't pullout artificially. BHO wanted to take Russia to the UN, where Russia has veto power. Now that's intelligent.

    And no cursing. Wow!

  • I don't give a shit if the top 10% pay 90% of the income tax. I can see how 8 years of taxbreaks have done. There's still a shifting of jobs overseas. The Government Accountability Office released a report that says most U.S. corporations pay no federal income taxes and most foreign companies that do business in the United States aren't paying corporate taxes. The study says about two-thirds of American corporations paid zero income taxes to Uncle Sam between 1998 and 2005. Do your HW.

  • Yeah it's horrible the new economic news says the economy is still growing by 3% no less. Oh that horrible bush, keeping our economy growing despite terrorist attacks and a war. you are hilarious you wacky wacky leftwing psycho

  • Economic growth doesn't matter if cost of living is outpacing it.

  • Even with the 2011 timetable (remember when Republicans called it "cut and run" but they're ok with it now bc Bush did it), McCain said it's still amenable to conditions on the ground even with Iraq has said they want that date regardless. You still haven't answered my question: You want us to attack Moscow? Why don't you fight it then chickenhawk?

  • See it's cut and run if there is still large amounts of fighting, i can understand how it's hard to understand since you are just completely belligerent and illiterate. But now that the surge WORKED and the country is relatively secure they are leaving with an Iraq that is free unlike what you guys want, you know Hussein killing, raping and destroying his people

  • Yeah the surge "worked", yeah whatever you say chickenhawk. Why don't you take a vacation to Iraq then? "Iraq that is free unlike what you guys want, you know Hussein killing, raping and destroying his people" Yeah, now we're doing that. You should work for Fox Noise, with all your propaganda.

  • Yeah more and more of the American public is thinking the Supreme Court is too far to the right, not the left. Sorry bitch you lose.

  • John McCain - "I need to educate myself on the economy". He's been in the Senate 30 years and still doesn't know shit about the economy. His own conservative base won't vote for him. Even Ann Coulter said she would vote for a Democrat over John McCain. Have a nice time losing in November with your flip-flopping candidate schmuck.

  • McCain was a POW? Id did not now that.We should name him King of the worldddd he and Michael Jackson can talk about how to cut taxes to those that own more that 5 properties.

  • ALL HAIL THE BLACK POWER MARXIST! Welcome the communist utopia where no man will own more than any other regardless of effort or productivity.

  • And how does this ad relate to him not being COMPLETELY out of touch with Americans? Did we all spend 5 years as POWs, fail in school, get promoted because of family connections, and then marry a beer heiress and become so wealthy that we can then choose to no longer care about the common man and base all of our policy decisions on corporate cronyism?

    Just askin'.

  • We might not know about? LOL

McCain is a disgrace to POWs for supporting torture.

  • Umm actually and I'm not looking into getting a debate going but he's been against torture, specifically waterboarding.

  • Exactly. But guess what? He switched his stance and is now against himself (lol) on torture. Soon as he started running for prez he started changing his positions to align more with those on the right of his party. Sounds like the guy is putting his personal ambition over his true feelings.

  • where did he switch his stance on torture?

  • it's true you morons don't know what you are talking about lol

  • "Last week, the Senate brought the Intelligence Authorization Bill — which contained a provision banning waterboarding — to the floor for a vote. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), an outspoken waterboarding critic, voted against the bill."

Is that any clearer for you right wing neocon?

  • Yes because Obama the voice of change "Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago." Washington Post

boy sounds like the voice of change to me

  • There's another home that McCain won't ever get to have in his life.

    The White House.

  • You think he's not going to win? Barack might, look at him throwing a fit over the "Ayers" ads and now trying to get the justice department to stop free speech.

  • Pfft.. no. His VP choice will be Romney which will cause so much of the shitstorm that even evangelicals would vote for Obama. Hey even rednecks back Obama. Google "rednecks for Obama". Not only that some conservatives are voting for Obama because the GOP are getting too stupid for their own good. The scandals are just too much. And McCain is a joke to himself and to the GOP.

Keep suckin GOP's phallus, McCain. It gives you power , it gives you strength.

  • I'd lay you $10,000 that it will be Obama who sits his ass down in the Senate come January. Your mouth got money behind it? Doubt it. Fascist libs never back it up unless its behind the pen of a bureaucrat.

  • OMFG IF I PROPOSE A LARGE SUM OF MONEY THIS LIBERAL WON'T REPLY HUR HUR!!

GTFO with that shit, you right wingnut. Your own party supports a bureaucracy you dumbass. The Homeland security.

Also, get your shit straight, if you want to insult libs call them communists because calling them fascist is just like shooting yourself in the foot because fascists support nationalist beliefs and authoritarian rule which somewhat resemble the GOP beliefs.

    Libs=Hippies

    Republicrats= Nazis

  • authoritarian rule sounds like republicans, you must be high! lol You are the one that wants to give all the power to government. Here government make my decisions for me regarding health, education blah blah blah. That's just a hop skip and a jump to letting them control what you say oh wait Obama is already trying to do that by asking the Justice department to stop free speech in texas. Get a clue moron

  • Nationalism from Merriam Weber dictionary: a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups.

Huh? wtf? Stop free speech in texas?? Oh wait you're an idiot!

    Ha!

I can shoot right back with your childishly retarded insults.

And you have the nerve to call me a moron after stating BS facts about Obama with no source?

    Typical republican value.

  • actually shitstick, fascisms roots come from liberal beliefs. Stalin and Lenin used liberal communist beliefs and used fascistic principles to enforce their over-riding philosophy of huge assed government. Libs don't equal hippies, hippies are just dumb drugged out anarchists without principles to guide them. National Socialism was the Nazi party dumbass. They were liberals and fascists. So put up or shut up.

  • Im arguing about fascism, not communism you idiot. are you that retarded to comprehend my argument? Also, please provide sources to your claims.

So far from your posts being republican means "ignorant retard" because so far you can't even distinguish the two, but you do a good job in conflating the two as if they're the same thing. They're not. Look up the terms and get back to me with your new insight of fascism and communism.

  • hey stupid, perhaps you can't comprehend simple facts, they come from eh same cloth. Communism only works in a fascistic context. Head out of ass please. Stalin and Lenin weren't exactly home room mothers helping first grade implementing communism. Retard.

Hitler was a National Socialist leader. He was a FASCIST. SOCIALISM and FASCISM come hand in hand because eventualy the people revolt against it. RETARD. so all you have left is implementation by FORCE. FASCISM. RETARD.

  • This ad was clearly intended for Republicans just crawling out of the bomb shelter they built at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

  • "This is where John McCain was starved, beaten, tortured, and maimed for life. So the next time Barack Obama talks about one of John McCain's homes, remember this one."

and now he has absolutely no problem starving, beating, torturing and maiming for life those in the custody of the US.

  • Hey stupid, he fought against the so-called waterboarding technique.

    Reading IS fundamental.

  • He recently voted for the Intelligence Authorization Bill that allowed waterboarding, Doctor Dumbass, back in July. Neocon wingnuts are always unable to understand the English language, probably due to them being a usual product of inbreeding.

  • And waterboarding is on par with the torture John McCain received at the hands of the NV???

Who's the one doing the inbreeding, sheepboy.

  • So fuckin what, there's worse shit that happens to U.S. soldiers nowadays that make McCain's POW BS of an excuse, a joke.

  • really? Being beaten with sticks until you can't raise your hands above your shoulder, you consider that a walk in the park huh?

  • If it was so terrible and inhuman, then why is he completely supporting the same torture in Guantanamo? Or flying our prisoners to Syria so we can torture them in ways American law forbids?

He's either a) endorsing torture as a great idea (totalitarian), or b) went back on his own principles (soul-less sell out).

Which one is he? I wouldn't want to put words in your mouth. :-)

  • I looked at his statement of February 14, 2008; SENATOR MCCAIN STATEMENT ON INTELLIGENCE AUTHORIZATION CONFERENCE REPORT. Perhaps you should go read it instead of getting your news from the DailyKos or Keith Olberdork.

"I have said that it was not my intent to eliminate the CIA interrogation program, but rather to ensure that the techniques it employs are humane and do not include such extreme techniques as waterboarding."

  • Neocon? WTF said I was a neocon? Do all you fascist libs just start off with the neoncon thing to try and silence dissent? Guess again shitstick. Let me guess, the only issue the IAB covered was waterboarding and it specifically said, lets do it all the time? No retard, go back to the record, he actually was against it but it was an omnibus bill and it had to get done due to certain issues expiring. Stop doing crack.

  • Still voted to allow the waterboarding!

  • So the fuck what? Al Qaeda beheads their detainees. You think pouring water over someone's face is torture. STFU. I have a neighbor who is a Marine who went thru it for training. All of them do. He laughs when fucks like you call it torture. Attacking wires to your nuts might be torture, but water over your head isn't.

  • Thanx for supporting my point. "So fuckin what".

  • Ok, so you agree, water over your head isn't torture. Thanks fucknut.

  • quote from McCain's Senate statement on Waterboarding:

"It is also incontestable that waterboarding is outlawed by the Military Commissions Act, and it was the clear intent of Congress to prohibit the practice. The MCA enumerates grave breaches of Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions that constitute offenses under the War Crimes Act. Among these is an explicit prohibition on acts that inflict "serious and non-transitory mental harm," which the MCA states "need not be prolonged."

  • So waterboarding is not torture if the CIA does it? Wonderful.

  • You shut the fuck up. You war mongers are gonna get us all killed stupid mother fuckers.

  • Unlike Clinton who went to war in Kosovo for nothing. Bombed an aspirin factory at 2am so he could kill a janitor. Yeah, that shit won't get us all killed either. "The greatest weakness of all is the great fear of appearing weak". The worst thing is to cower in a corner fretting over them. Your cowardice is humorous.

  • Unlike Clinton, U.S. economy isn't as shitty as it is with Bush. Rising gas, food, and housing costs etc. Or 4000 and counting dying for an unreachabe dream to democratize a ME country that doesn't want us there because of their extremist views and anti-western ideals.

Also, there was no Katrina incident in Clinton's turn as well as the numerous scandals within the GOP such as Mark Foley. Foley, a respected moralistic man committing sex offender-like acts with a young person in the webz.

  • economy shitty. Perhaps reading isn't fundamental where you are from. 3.3% GDP growth in 2nd qtr douchebag. The problem with the economics wasn't fundamentals, its people making $30grand buying homes worth $500k then making me and you pay for it when they couldn't. Get it asswipe? Its the democrats gimme gimme gimme attitude that is hurting us.

  • hahaha wow I didn't realize that you were such a moron. So the fact that there was an addendum that he still doesn't support packaged with important things that he does support must mean he's just a big meanie.

hahaha what a moron. This is great to see such a gimp like you trying to explain the greatness of a criminal to be like Obama

  • Yeah, "addendum" my ass. It was a main part of the bill. Nice try neocon. Rightwingers can't even believe the truth even with facts. Go figure.

  • Since you don't read, perhaps someone can read this to you. The debate was about the CIA and the ARMY Field Manual applications.

His statement, while convoluted, is clear that he is against subjecting the CIA to the Army Field Manual which, I assume, does not list waterboarding as an acceptable interrogation technique. There is a standard of flexibility he was trying to maintain with the CIA and NOT with the ARMY who has a more rigid code of conduct.

  • I don't think you get it as you probably don't have the neurons. If you say that waterboarding is TORTURE and should not be done, it should not matter if the CIA does it or Army. Torture is torture. At least McCain should not have been stupid enough to say it out loud in a debate to later be proven a hypocrite.

  • Nice, you gotta love how the Republicans say McCain was tortured, yet when we do the same thing to other people, it isn't torture. Funny how that works.

  • Yeah it's funny that McCain doesn't do that but you just like throwing emotional bombs out there with no proof. Great job nimrod.

  • Yeah, McCain's vote in June/July regarding interrogation techniques speaks volumes. Try using facts rightwing nutjob, maybe then Republicans would be actually winning elections in the House and Senate rather than losing.

  • At this point, only current POWs don't know that McCain was a POW.

  • We don´t know about? are you kidding!! That's all McCain talks about

    Health care:POW

    Jobs: POW

    NAFTA: POW

    Afghanistan: POW

    Iraq: POW

  • As opposed ot Barack's

Health Care: Government will give it to you

Jobs: government will give it to you

    everything is a government program.

He's already flipped on FISA and has no clue as to when life begins because "it's above his pay grade"

He covorts with known terrorists (ayers) criminals (rezko) and America Haters (Jeremiah Wright) yeah this guy is GREEAAATTT

  • In all fairness, there is no definitive answer as to when life begins. I wouldn't expect him to know such a thing, no matter which side of the fence I was on.

  • Jobs: Government will give it to you.

Where the fuck do you think John McCain has been his whole life? Sucking off the teat of the Republic. Full throttle to the trough.

  • John McCain absolutely has no honor left. Being a POW gives him a pass in believing that the failed economy is psychological, that he doesn't have a plan as he knows nothing about the economy, no plans in Iraq or Afghanistan (yeah remember that country John McCain?), and cheating on his ailing wife. Quit besmirching your military record by using it as a crutch dumbass.

  • McCain has no class whatsoever. He was wrong about Iraq, he'd be wrong for America. Just like Bush/Cheney.

  • According to the Bush Admin torture rules, McCain wasn't even tortured back then. Nice try GOP. More stupidity than you can fit into a flagpole.

  • Is that the same John McCain who fathered an illegitimate black baby?

  • I'm not a McCain supporter but this was a lie put out by Bush and Karl Rove in South Carolina in 2000 the eventually led to McCain's loss that year. It's ironic now that McCain is using these same tactics and spreading lies about Barack.

  • Wow! The guy still hugs both after that. In my town, a real man would have punched them both out gutted them like fish. McCain ain't no maverick. He's a Republican pussy.

  • I detect a new campaign slogan:

    "I can't be wrong, I was a POW": McCain '07

  • "Uh... John? It's not 2007 anymore."

"I CAN CALL IT WHATEVER YEAR I WANT TO! I WAS A POW!"

  • Well noted. It should be added to the Google tour of the 7-13 other homes. Thanks for the reminder.

  • A John McCain home you "might not know about"?!?! There's somebody who HASN'T heard that he was a POW? Gonna have to move on to the current campaign eventually. His experience as a POW may be part of his character but it is NOT relevant to any of the current issues.
