there's nothing wrong with glitz pageants as long as the girls enjoy it. for people who think it's not ok for your kids to do pageants cuz it teaches them about judging there appearance. no matter what whether there are pageants or not, there will always be judgements of the appearance. it has nothing to do with pageants. it gymnastics your judges at competitions of how well you do your full twist or back hand spring. in pageants your judges on your personality and presentation of stage.

watch the "black swan" and you will know any competitive sport can cause children to have low self esteem. there are more losers than winner in every sport and competition not just pageant. it's just something to think about.
btw, going out in the sun is more harmful to a child's skin than wearing makeup. now a day , makeup at least has sun protection as well and nourishing vitamins. It may actually counter act premature aging.
if they are complaining about sexualizing pageant , might as well complain about ballet where kids wear makeup in skin tight clothes. gymnastic, figure skating is the same in skimpy outfit, swimming is nearly naked, not to mention kids early into sports get broken bones, hurt, or delayed growth (gymnastic). anything can be a risk. might as well do not take your toddler swimming if you are afraid of them being sexualized nearly naked condition.

I like the whole pageant thing...I think it's fun. And maybe I think that way because I'm very girly and like the glitter and makeup and hair etc. But I think it's important to teach the girls that they are beautiful not only on the out side but inside as well. That's my thoughts on it tho.

it's not about whether your kids want to do pageants.
i didn't want to go to school when i was 5, but my parents made me anyway. because it was good for me.
beauty pageants, on the other hand, are NOT good for kids. they place an incredibly high value on appearance.
try teaching your kids to love the way they are instead?

@rush7777me7777 Her breasts are actually real. She somewhat proved it on one of her shows. I don't remember what episode, but she took her bra off and flopped them around. They were quite floppy. Kind of like fat pancakes.

The mother did pageants! Where did she get in life? Is she living her dream through her mom. Her mother introduced this to her! They are beautiful without make up and fake hair! What are they teaching their children that they must wear makeup, fake hair to get money. Most girls don't become famous so what will they do when they grow up for money? You can't compare pageants to sports! The spokeswoman is making money of these girls:( We need to pray for these children!

TEACH your child count thier childhood memories, not how many crowns,money,pagent wins,what about real frendships? Playgrounds?MOMS,appreciate each day with child in good health How would you feel if instead of watching your child loose a pagent you watched your child battle each day for another day to live so they can be a normal happy kid? Ask a mom who cries at a grave vs pagents.

there's nothing wrong with glitz pageants as long as the girls enjoy it. for people who think it's not ok for your kids to do pageants cuz it teaches them about judging there appearance. no matter what whether there are pageants or not, there will always be judgements of the appearance. it has nothing to do with pageants. it gymnastics your judges at competitions of how well you do your full twist or back hand spring. in pageants your judges on your personality and presentation of stage.

I actually feel sorry for these very young girls. Makeup is a bad influence to every young girl and these two girls. Makeup ruins your face, it makes it dry and makes you non attractive and wrinkly in your future and older life. Also the money. Karlee raving about how she likes getting money? This just shows she isn't brought up well

watch the "black swan" and you will know any competitive sport can cause children to have low self esteem. there are more losers than winner in every sport and competition not just pageant. it's just something to think about.

btw, going out in the sun is more harmful to a child's skin than wearing makeup. now a day , makeup at least has sun protection as well and nourishing vitamins. It may actually counter act premature aging.

if they are complaining about sexualizing pageant , might as well complain about ballet where kids wear makeup in skin tight clothes. gymnastic, figure skating is the same in skimpy outfit, swimming is nearly naked, not to mention kids early into sports get broken bones, hurt, or delayed growth (gymnastic). anything can be a risk. might as well do not take your toddler swimming if you are afraid of them being sexualized nearly naked condition.

I like the whole pageant thing...I think it's fun. And maybe I think that way because I'm very girly and like the glitter and makeup and hair etc. But I think it's important to teach the girls that they are beautiful not only on the out side but inside as well. That's my thoughts on it tho.

@ga1ysshulddie I'm not sure. Usually you can tell when a child doesn't want to do something and a mother is forcing hobbies into that childs life. But it doesn't seem that way here. Lexi seems to enjoy the pageants.

i hate that 'prissy walk' SO much. these pageants only teach girls that they need makeup, fake tans, hair extensions, fake eyelashes and the perfect teeth to not only be beautiful, but to be accepted too which will be incredibly detrimental to them in the future.

I as a little girl was I retested in makeup, like a normal girl. Now I sm a performer and noone else in my family performs. I think that the brunette, Carly, is really a tomboy and does this because her mom wants her to.

I actually don't think these mothers are as bad as the ones on the show because they don't force the little girls to do stuff they don't want to do....sometimes. Like how lexi didn't like the tanning so her mom never took her back there again.

@morgdan9 why even tell ur little girl to get a fake tan to look better in the first place? i would say it was wrong if they where sixteen but to tell them this age? what ideal of a woman do u show ur kids when u say their looks are the most important thing and it makes mommy really happy when they are voted the most beautiful? they will learn how the outside is important to others soon enough. kids that age should be rewarded for painting a nice picture or sharing something with their friends

@brotmann86 why the fuck are you asking me? i'm not a mother of a kid in a pageant. i'm 16 years old. i never said that what the mothers were doing wasn't wrong. but honestly, any competivie sport is like this. there is dance or gymnastics. they score you as well. there's soccer or softball. it's not just pageants. are you gonna say that the mom's putting there kid in sports to make themselves really happy when they go on stage or make the winning goal? no. so stop attacking only pageant moms.

@brotmann86 how is that any different from a mom introducing their kids to dance. there are moms like this in every sport but you seem to only attack pageant moms. i know kids that are in pageants that think of the competitions as a dress up game. their self-esteem is broken when they don't win. it probably helps them because now they know that winning isn't everything. i was in dance and we had to wear make up at all the competitions and i know that it's not all about outside beauty.

@morgdan9 as i said this video is about pageants not parents who make their kids play tennis 7 days a week. and there is dance and dance there is this video with little girls dancing to single ladies like strippers, dressed like strippers. i dont think this is ok. kids will come up to their parents by themselves when they see something they would like to do anyway, i dont think one has to introduce them. maybe ask "would you like to play soccer,or would you like to build a house for your dolls?
