Your best bet is a 6'6 M action rod for the most fun out of the fish and you still have the power that is needed.... A MH action is more of a red fish rod. ....Hope this helps you and good luck on the water.

@steventhekillerfull Actually a MH is better bcuz they can do more types of fishing. You can flip with them,throw spinnerbaits,fish senkos and worms. You can also crank with them if you know how to use a drag,which im pretty sure you know how to do. But with a medium you are pretty limited to cranking,and worms.

I'll also tell you a better swimbait you could get than those hybrids. They are called Tiny Tims by Tabu Tackle. I've got a really cool tip for you. You ever fish around boat docks and see those giant fish suspended up underneath, and just can't figure out how to catch them? Well I've come up with something that will get them in your livewell. These swimbaits! Use a Zapu jighead wacky and rig it in the bait. Add some crazy glue. Use this technique and you'll catch more fish under docks.

Yes the Gulf is great and I love fishing for Snook and Reds when they're in season.

Even Flounder are fun to catch and great to eat. But I can catch and release Bass everyday out my backyard! So it's great for me to learn and test things out all the time!
