what rpm do you hit full boost?? i have same turbo on rb25 but with 8:1 compression with cams and mild head work and i see full boost at 4500. wondering if thats normal for these setups.
@shortybj40 From what I remember it was around 4100-4300 rpm, but this was with a bad exhaust leak also. I no longer have this turbo and went with a smaller one that had a lower boost threshold
@WanVia how did you bolt up the power steering reservoir and line, that way. was it difficult for fitment . I also have an rb25det looking to do a similar setup . thanks.
your the first person ive seen with that style of piping with the crossover. I like that setup and was wondering the best crossover solution with a top mount setup. how bad is the heat soak though, with it so closet to the exducer?
@hooknbookls1 Yea unfortunately with the stock intake mani. Your limited to the piping being heat soaked by the radiator or above the exhaust area. I did a few runs at mineral wells 2 weeks ago (100+ degrees) and it wasnt to bad, did feel a lil low on power but it was over 100. but i did pop a radiator hose and the oil return needed protecting from heat.
@WanVia did you have to cut or weld any of the intercooler piping, or did you just use different angle bent pieces? what turbo manifold did you use? thanks
@jhaze918 Turbo is working great, spools really fast when your above the boost threshhold. Boost is around 15lbs, power...who knows, lol. But I think the valve seals happen to be going out as it smokesat start up but still runs great
@WanVia good to hear man...im in the process of trying to decide what turbo i want to upgrade to...its a tough process haha...someone mentioned the hx35 to me...you think your close to 400whp on 15lbs?? and what bov, if you run one
@jhaze918 haha, i'm still on stock injectors. I have some 600cc s to throw on and shoot around that number as well, no bov as of now. The mani I have is also twin scroll to match the hx35
@WanVia im going to estimate your prob around 350hp to the wheels....give or take a few horses...if i can remember correctly my stock injectors were maxed out around 380whp on 20lbs....not 100% on that though....i ended up ordering a precision 60-1....will give me decent low end spool with the capabilitiy of over 500hp...so i should be happy considering the POS chinese turbo i had before lmao
I actually like the overhead intake manifold but with a top mount turbo looks wierd, most people that get top mount get a new intake manifold for the side, but I am getting a rb25 neo for my 240sx and I like the engine cover and stock manifold so in going with the godspeed intercooler, it stays all on one side of the engine
Nothing wrong with the cross over pipe, lots of cars make big power with them, the HR31 skylines that raced at bathurst even used them with a 145 degree bend lol
@roflex2 Yea, I wanted to keep the stock intake for the longer runners. It's fine even going over the hot side of the turbo, not optimal but suits me fine
@bohdanko90 might look nicer but they often perform worse and have unequal cylinder distribution, they also always cost more than a bent intercooler pipe.
longer intake runners are what you want in a street car.
Because im getting the neo rb25 it has a nice manifold and engine cover that make it wha it is, thats why i liked the intercooler kit that mounts to the stock one

Nice! Why don't you consider running an intercooler with inlet and outlet on the same side?

hows that turbo working for you?? what boost and power are you pushing??

@roflex2 For the price of all those pipes, couplers, welding etc you can get a intake manifold that you dont have to crossover. looks much nicer too

I looked at the cx racing kit and it shows its for a greddy side intake manifold, where did you get this kit that mounts to the stock manifold
Brendon00000 1 year ago
@Brendon00000
Oh my bad, the intercooler is from CX, the piping itself is custom made
WanVia 1 year ago
What intercooler kit is that? Good job

@Brendon00000
Its a CXRacing cooler i got off of ebay, i'll change to a same side cooler later so i can have non retarted piping lol
