Actually it isn't. Remember what Command & Conquer is and what EA whored it out to become once they bought up Westwood. This plays nothing like a true Command & Conquer-game.

A smart-ass note, I know. But it plays much like Generals.

Awesome game, so sad people didnt pay too much attention to it, Atari or Eugen should have made a relaunch, heck, it got better graphics than RA3, at least in terms of models and overall visual design and scale it goes light years above the last C&Cs

This game is one of those game that can be successful. The only things that were lacking was more advertisement and compatibility for vista/ windows 7. Overall, it's great.

@tuber749 go, turn on C&C 3, put in Skirmish 8 brutal steamrollers, see yourself fail. I won against them. 3 hard in any strategy game are a piece of cake for me, regardless if it's SC, SC2, any C&C or AOW.

CST is a truly challenging side to play, because they go from being the weakest faction early to the second (if not first) strongest faction in the game. But most of their equipment is either Russian-made or Russian-named (Akula, Tunguska, etc.) BTW I prefer playing TFT.

if Im not mistaken, one version didnt need the original game(I think it is the US ver.), while others need the original installed.

Awesome! Are there a lot of players online? I'm gonna grab this as soon as I upgrade my computer a bit. And to be fair, Generals ain't so bad actually. EA just messed the game's potential because they thought it wouldn't give them the monies.

Barely any users online in the original game, I doubt there's any crowd in the expansion. I hope Atari will make a new game with this game as a platform, since it has Alot of potential.

The music of this game is far the best I ever heard (except maybe the Total-War series), along with the nice "real" cutscenes. They outrun the C&C series easily, working well together with that superb graphic. I didn't experience any lag though my system isn't up-to-date.

This game is WAY better than generals, the idea behind the twp games are the same, but Act of War gives you better grahpics, a more thrilling campaign, intense fire fights and in dept gameplay with lot'a options, it's awesome and it pwns C&C

Replying from my new dedicated account: The game didn't really sell at all, a half a year after launch you could find this game for just over ten bucks. I don't really understand why. The expansion wasn't ever in Sweden at all.

Yeah ofcourse but when this game was fresh it wasn't that kind of famous but still offered the best graphics and sounds, videos, everything I've seen during that time in the RTS Genre - and I think it wasn't until CoH those powers were really matched out by a new title on the market.

Well hmm. I still think this game graphics matches alot this years. Nothing has changed in graphics viewpoint. What do you say?. Can you add more videos of AOW too?. Show us the new vehicles in the game such nuke truck and so on. :). I would appreciate it. :)

I could sure do that - and in visual quality AoW:HT is pretty out-dated but not looking ugly - it's just a little badly programmed, eating more performance that it really should when CoH has quite more significant details to it but still runs better. Also C&C3:TW is looking a bit better too and runs better (or more solid with the 30FPS-cap)

dont buy a video card less than 200$, you will just want to replace it in less than a year. this persons video card runs the game, but for 250-300$, you could get one good enough to run the latest games on the highest settings, like rainbow six vegas. trust me(no offense to you borkabonum)

I know, this machine is a year old and since then I've only been upgrading the PSU and AudioCard. I'm not showing these videos off to show my "Cool Rig" or anything but just to give a hint what performance you get out of a decent priced machine as this. I'm gonna get a 8800GTS 640mb or a GTX depending on how well the job is going this summer.

I don't run with US Dollar as currency but I'll try to estimate the value; When I bought it all this summer + the new PSU and Audio Card it would all go for ~$1100 but buying the machine with it's standard 350W PSU and with intergraded Audio running it's Coolermaster Centurion 530 chassi it would go for something like ~$700 today. The videocard only goes for like $179 and less.
