American friendly fire is really exagerrated. It happens when your the main force in the area dropping bombs. Pilots are trained to drop bombs in a certain area, but nowadays, a lotta bombs are gps guided. So it is not the pilots fault. It is either bad sattelite imaging, or incorrect coordinates, or that the gps failed to work. There have been some (but very few) british deaths to friendly fire, but they are not common. The british kill more of there own then the americans kill of them.

The reason we have the worst one right now is because in the last 60 years, what other country has fought a major war (without playing a backseat role). Thats totally untrue im a royal marine and there are only 2 Blue fire incidents between British forces In Iraq and none in afghan Helmand. The worse one i remember was an A-10 peeling off of its patrol and hitting a squad of British Scimitar vehicles belonging to lads of the Household Cavalry. He hit them once with main gun and then turnbed back and had another go. 2 were killed. One of the survivors said "i think he was an untrained cowboy out on a jolly"
